What implications, if any, will this have for programmers building software and/or hardware dealing with video (and WebRTC in particular)?     Hi forum, i have this file myfirst.txt located on a cluster of computers down the hall, i.e.: myname@login1:~> ls myfirst.txt which i want to download to the home directory: scp [email protected]:myfirst.txt . to which i get: myfirst.txt 100% 1828 1.8KB/s 00:00 now where (on my home computer) is this myfirst.txt file ? i can't find it. It's not visible when i click 'show hidden files' either. Tia,

  • Dash home button in unity5 of new ubuntu 12.04lts

    If I click on the dash home icon nothings come up. It's as if it's not responding, but just above the dash home icon, I can see close, minimize and restore buttons. I have tried all the links present in this forum, so please don't suggest these: sudo apt-get install --reinstall unity unity --reset pkill -f unity-applications-daemon None of those worked. I am facing this problem after upgrading to 12.04 LTS.

  • Why can't Ubuntu find an ext3 filesystem on my hard-drive?

    This question is related to this question: Not enough components to start the RAID array? I'm trying to retrieve data from a "Western Digital MyBook World Edition (white light)" NAS device. This is basically an embedded Linux box with a 1TB HDD in it formatted in ext3. It stopped booting one day for no apparent reason. I have extracted the HDD from the NAS device and installed it in a desktop machine running Ubuntu 10.10 in the hope of accessing the files on the drive.   • Interviewing Process (using blank paper etc)

    I am curious to know why do companies hand you a blank paper and ask you to write code? This confuses me, because these days intellisense, google, stackoverflow etc are common sources to look up syntax and / or IDE gives you a colored indicator if your syntax is wrong. I usually get stressed out during these situations. I am curious to know opinions of other developers. I am posting this on this forum, hoping to get helpful feedback from other experienced developers.

    I’ve updated the beta for ClearTrace that support SQL Server 2012.  This requires SQL Server 2012 to be installed on the computer where ClearTrace is running.  It will read traces from SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2005. It includes some minor improvements in performance and handling large SQL statements. It should also give better errors. If you do find any of those errors, please report them in the support forum.

    After upgrading 12.04 LTS, my wired connection works but no wireless connection found. I tried many suggestion for wireless connection on Ubuntu forum but nothing works for me. Now, maybe by mistake, I am also unable to connect Internet through wired connection. Now, (1) its says "No network devices available" and (2) in System Settings ? Hardware ? no additional driver icon is showing Please help. I don't know much about Ubuntu.

    I had programmed a brilliant web page in ASP.NET 4.0 and lo and behold, this one page lost its sessions in Google Chrome. I could run it locally in debug and could not reproduce the issues in Chrome. Didn't happen in IE or Firefox, only Chrome on the published server.
