• Find mininum unused value in mysql table

  I have a MySQL table like this: +--------+-------+ + Server + Port + +--------+-------+ + 1 + 27001 + +--------+-------+ + 2 + 27002 + +--------+-------+ + 4 + 27004 + +--------+-------+ How you can see - here was 27003 port - but it was deleted some time ago (just for example). Is there some way to know the minimum value that is not used (higher than 27000 for example) in mysql table? Or there is no way and I need to make an separate table with all ports and column with "used" or "not used" ? Situation explanation: I am creating game hosting website, and I can use auto-increment for ports, but I will have a lot of deleted/unused ports after some time, and I want to use all of them before increasing port range. • Insert into ... Select *, how to ignore identity?

  I have a temp table with the exact structure of a concrete table T. It was created like this: select top 0 * into #tmp from T After processing and filling in content into #tmp, I want to copy the content back to T like this: insert into T select * from #tmp This is okay as long as T doesn't have identity column, but in my case it does. Is there anyways I can ignore the auto-increment identity column from #tmp when I copy to T? My motivation is to avoid having to spell out every column name in the Insert Into list. EDIT: toggling identity_insert wouldn't work because the pkeys in #tmp may collide with those in T if rows were inserted into T outside of my script, that's if #tmp has auto-incremented the pkey to sync with T's in the first place.

• Can't modify XNA Vector components

  I have a class called Sprite, and ballSprite is an instance of that class. Sprite has a Vector2 property called Position. I'm trying to increment the Vector's X component like so: ballSprite.Position.X++; but it causes this error: Cannot modify the return value of 'WindowsGame1.Sprite.Position' because it is not a variable Is it not possible to set components like this? The tooltip for the X and Y fields says "Get or set ..." so I can't see why this isn't working.

• jQuery - Drag of elements in areas - then not draggable any more

  Hello! I have three div areas. Creating an element, which is draggable() with jQuery UI, I can drag it all over the screen. Dropping it in a special area, then I can not drag it any more. I created a full working demo: http://jsbin.com/enusu4/2/ There you can create a draggable element which is placed into the left green area. Dragging it to the middle or right green area, I can not drag the element. I increment the zIndex of the elements, but it does not work. Does anyone can help me, what's wrong? Best Regards.

• Promoting letters in a string to the next letter in java

  I'm having issues figuring out how to get my code to increment the string that is given by user input so that when a user chooses to replace a letter like z it would go to a, b to c ect. The catch is I have to do this without using boolean. I am supposed to get this by using arithmetics to get the promotion from z to a from the users input. Plus must be only lower case letters from a-z. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

  My goal is to asynchronously call a URL via POST request (REST Webservice) to increment a statistic on one of my object. I am a newby web developper and I discovered JSON yesterday. Since JSON seems a lot popular and handy I went to www.json.org and discovered a JSONRequest object which seems to able one to send POST/GET request asynchronously but I can't get it work. Is it a global Javascript object or do I need to add some files ? I am a little bit confused since I've found a Firefox plugin extension for JSONRequest but I don't understand its purpose.

  Currently me and my friend are developing a website, for what we will call 'projects' we just have a basic auto increment id in the database used to navigate to projects such as oururl.com/viewproject?id=1 but we started thinking, if we have alot of posted projects thats going to be a LONG url. So we need to somehow randomly generate a alphanumerical string about 6 characters long.   I am reading a txt file for strings that represent integers. The file is space delimited. I have created an array[10,2]. Everytime the strings 1~10 is found in the file I increment array[n,0] by 1. I also feed array[n,1] with numbers 1~10. i.e. txt file contents: 1/1/1 10/1/2001 1 1 10 2 2 3 1 5 10 word word 3 3 etc.. streamreader reads 1/1/1 and determines that is is not 1~10 streamreader reads 10/1/2001 and determines that it is not 1~10 streamreader reads 1 and ++array[0,0] streamreader reads 1 and ++array[0,0] streamreader reads 10 and ++array[9,0] etc.. The result will be: '1' was found 3 times '2' was found 2 times '3' was found 3 times '5' was found 1 time '10' was found 2 times My problem is that I need this array placed in order(sorted) by value of column 0 so that it would be: 1 3 2 10 5

• Java: How to clear socket bindings

  I am having a few issues with sockets within my Java SIP client. When I bind to an address and port, if something goes wrong I have to attempt to reconnect, usually after I've stopped and restarted the process. Problem with that is then the port is bound and I am forced to increment the local port. How can I remove the binding to the port I am targeting before binding to it? If that isnt possible, then how can I trap the process just before it ends so that I can locate the socket binding and close it manually?

  Hey guys I'm putting data from website (json) to sql base. In db i have these rows. ID | PostId | Name | Message Id is auto-increment primary key. PostId also has a unique values. Name and Message are nothing special. When I run my script / click on the button in form / ... , the program saves all the values into database (lets say there are 25). Next time I'm going to press the button there will be added 25 more records (all duplicates), and so on... Is there a way that the program can check through 'PostIds' if the value already exists before adding it to the db? Thanks

I need to get the last n rows out, but because of deletions, the common way of using the max of the autoincremented id column doesn't work well... 1 - Is their another way to get the bottom 50? 2 - Is their a way to get rows by actual row number? so if I have 4 rows labelled 1,2,3,4 delete row 2 then it will become 1,2,3 rather than 1,3,4?

  Hi. I'm following an XNA tutorial and have the following code for collision detecting (detecting when a bullet collides with a target). Basically I'm looking to increment a score variable to display the score to the screen without re-writing the whole program. No matter where I place it in this method it seems to start incrementing from the number of targets, not from zero. Is there something simple I'm missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. • MySQL UPDATE WHERE IN for each listed value separately?

  Hi, I've got the following type of SQL: UPDATE photo AS f LEFT JOIN car AS c ON f.car_id=c.car_id SET f.photo_status=1 , c.photo_count=c.photo_count+1 WHERE f.photo_id IN ($ids) Basically, two tables (car & photo) are related. The list in $ids contains unique photo ids, such as (34, 87, 98, 12). With the query, I'm setting the status of each photo in that list to "1" in the photo table and simultaneously incrementing the photo count in the car table for the car at hand. It works but there's one snag: Because the list can contain multiple photo ids that relate to the same car, the photo count only ever gets incremented once. If the list had 10 photos associated with the same car, photo_count would become 1 .... whereas I'd like to increment it to 10. Is there a way to make the incrementation occur for each photo individually through the join, as opposed to MySQL overthinking it for me? I hope the above makes sense. Thanks.

• Updating Versioned .NET Assembly References

  I have a C++/CLI project that needs to reference a .NET assembly. I've done so by going into the project properties and clicking "Add New Reference", and browsing to the assembly location (it's not part of the solution, so I cannot create a project-to-project reference, and the .NET assembly is not in the GAC so it isn't in the .NET tab when viewing the references to add) When the .NET assembly is updated (that is, since it is versioned, it will increment its version number daily), the C++/CLI project fails to compile because it is still referencing the older version. The workaround I've been doing is deleting the .NET reference and adding it back in, but this is not feasible. How do I have it recognize the newer assembly?? Note: The older assembly is replaced with the newer one, so it is in the same location, but doesn't know that it should use the newer version.

• Order mysql results without identifier

  Usually I would have a table field called ID on auto increment. That way I could order using this field etc. However I have no control over the structure of a table, and wondered how to get the results in reverse order to default. I'm currently using $q = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM ServerChat LIMIT 15"); However like I said there is no field I can order on, so is there a way to tell mysql to reverse the order it gets the results? I.e last row to first row instead of the default.

So, how it goes through list's elements, from 0 to size()-1 or chaotically? List.get(i) will always return this element? 3) question ( I suppose for the 2-nd question the answer will be negative, so:) for (int i=0; i < list.size(); i++) { } is the best way if I need to save the index of an element and later get it back from a list by its id?
