  • How to publish paid Android apps if you're not from US/UK

    I was pretty excited while creating one of my apps but as it turns out you can't actually sign up for Google Checkout if you don't live either in the USA or in the UK. And since Google Checkout is the only way Android Market will pay you, all my efforts seem to be going in vain. So because I live in India, I can't sell my apps. I tried contacting Google by various means on this, but haven't got any response so far. I tried searching the web as well just to find out that one can't be paid via any other way. I am pretty sure that many people here might have gone through the same problem. How did you solve it? I have a PayPal account and an AdSense account as well. Can they help in any way? And if nothing works out, how am I supposed to be selling my app?

  • Unity 3d (Using Blender) - anime/manga/cel-shaded style characters

    Making a game using Blender for 3D models and Unity for the game engine. Just wondering if anyone knows any links to pages that give a tutorial on Japanese anime style 3D modelling, texturing and shading through blender. I'm actually looking to create a cel-shaded look eventually (read: Okami/Jet Set Radio style) and I'm kind of stuck with the design stuff. I'm not a Blender expert by any means, and still kind of new to the design side of things (I'm a programmer by trade), so please don't vote me down too hard. I've tried googling, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of what I'm after. The only thing I've found really is a plugin for blender called freestyle, or using the ToonShader shading tool. If there are any good tutorials or anything, I'm really happy to sit through them - just want to learn :) Thanks for any help :)

    Hello, I wanted to know which one amongst Style and UserControl would be better to use in WPF? For example: I have created an image button in two different ways. One uses Style and ContentTemplate property is set. It uses one other class with dependency properties. The other way is i have created a UserControl which has a button and its content property is set. UserControl.xaml.cs file also contains the dependency properties.     I want to build a web app that uses Salesforce.com data, and I want to build it fast. I'm a .NET developer (WPF, C#, ASP.NET MVC). I understand Ruby and RoR fairly well, but I haven't delivered any Rails apps. I'm wondering, is Ruby on Rails a suitable tool for rapidly building Salesforce apps, or is it better for the "traditional" web2.0 stuff like Groupon and Twitter? In other words, would using RoR help me achieve my fast (e.g., three months) goal over using .NET, which I already know?

    I am completely new to Ubuntu and I must say AskUbuntu and you folks are of great help. So now when I have started installing and playing with apps, my question is what is the best place to install/download apps? Like in Windows it usually goes under your C: drive and then you manage it under Program Files. Linux structure is quite different with a different folder hierarchy. I have attached the directory structure of my machine as well. I thought this question would help lot of beginners.
