  • Visual Studio ReportViewer repeating data block on every page

    I am using Reportviewer to generate a sales invoice to be printed by the user. How can I get databound fields to be printed on every page of a multi page invoice? The invoice is printed on a pre-printed form. I want the printed form to look roughly like: page 1 customer john smith 123 main st. city, CA 90000 some item1 $100 some item2 $150 some item3 $150 page 2 customer john smith 123 main st. city, CA 90000 some item4 $500 some item5 $250 some item6 $950 Total $2100 Using 1 list which contains databound textbox fields for the customer info, and a table for the items. The problem is if there are many items such that the items flow over to page 2, the next page only contains items, and not the customer info which needs to be printed on second page as well. I tried using page header, but I can't use databound items in page header. Please Help!

    Hi there, Does anyone know of a good framework to allow me design permission and roles against users. Basically allowing me to automatically check a user can do a certain thing, and then disabling or enabling menu items etc I am not really looking for asp.net security ... as i need to use it in my own service layer and clients both WEB and WPF will use it. I was hoping for something that allows me to create new roles and groups against users and then check what type of permissions a user has or a group has Any help really appreciated.. I am sure some kind of open source framework is available, well i was hoping not having to create my own Thanks

  • Use LINQ and lambdas to put string in proper case

    I have this function called ProperCase that takes a string, then converts the first letter in each word to uppercase. So ProperCase("john smith") will return "John Smith". Here is the code: public string ProperCase(string input) { var retVal = string.Empty; var words = input.Split(' '); foreach (var word in words) { if (word.Length == 1) { retVal += word.ToUpper(); } else if (word.Length > 1) { retVal += word.Substring(0, 1).ToUpper() + word.Substring(1).ToLower(); } retVal += ' '; } if (retVal.Length > 0) { retVal = retVal.Substring(0, retVal.Length - 1); } return retVal; } This code workds perfectly, but I'm pretty sure I can do it more elegantly with LINQ and lambdas.     Hi guys... Hope this isn't a waste of your time. I'm working on a project, and it occured to me that there's a chunk of code out there, that should allow me to see how others have implemented this. I've got a project where I'm going to have a page, with a sel box. the user will select an item from the selList, and based on the item selected, a separate section of the page (areaB) will change in terms of the content/tbls being displayed. i then want to allow the user to go through a series of subpages in areaB, where the user goes through a submit/cancel/confirm process, where the stuff in areaB changes, with the rest of the page remaining the same... i'm trying to figure out the best approach to implement the on both client/server side. i could just have an ugly "if block" where i have abunch of logic, and i completely regen the page each time the user selects an action.. i could have an approach that might involve divs/frames, where i then just regen the targeted frame/div area.. is this even possible?? i could have some form of ajaxy process, which would only alter the targeted section(s) of the page... so.. i'm trying to talk to anyone who has ideas on how to do this, or more ideally, if you know of a good code (client/server) side example of this... that i can examine. i'd really appreciate it!! i've got a more detailed overview but didn't know if it would be cool to post it here... thanks.. tom

  • LINQ OrderBy with more than one field

    I have a list that I need sorted by two fields. I've tried using OrderBy in LINQ but that only allows me to specify one field. I'm looking for the list to be sorted by the first field and then if there are any duplicates in the first field to sort by the second field. For example I want the results to look like this (sorted by last name then first name). Adams, John Smith, James Smith, Peter Thompson, Fred I've seen that you can use the SQL like syntax to accomplish this but I am looking for a way to do it with the OrderBy method.   • Problem accessing updated variables within OnTouch

    I have an OnTouch and a setOnTouchListener that updates varibles which contain screen coord info. The problem is it doesnt seem to ever update them. On line 78, RGB.setText(test); it never changes from 0.0. If i were to move that line and the line above it into the onTouch it updates. any idea what is wrong?     I let a user reconfigure the location of a set of rows in a table by giving them ability to move them up and down. The changes are done by swapping nodes in the DOM. After the user has moved rows around, when I do a view source, I see the HTML in the original state (before the user made any changes). Can someone explain why that is? My understanding was when we do any DOM operations, the underlying HTML will be changed as well. EDIT: Does that mean on the server side, when attempt to get the state after user's changes, I will be able to get what I need? I am using C#/ASP.NET. Could it be because this is a HTML table (not ASP.NET Server control), that it's not maintaining the state of the changes?

  • Bug in XCode debugger?

    I am working on an iPhone app which is using an external library for which I have the source. During debugging some of the objects are listed as 0x0 in the debugger but the app runs fine. Also, some of the objects addresses point to the wrong thing. These symbols are in the external library. The addresses are fine if I am tracing through a file actually in the external library. Does anyone have suggestions how to stop this behavior?

  • Using JQuery to insert new cells in a table row?

    I know that JQuery is a very powerful library and was just wondering if it had the following capability that I really need. Lets say I need to insert new cells into a table row, I know how to do this basic task, but I need to insert my cells in a highly unusual way due to some of the requirements that are needed for the new cells. I need to be able to insert cells a certain distance into the row, For example, if a row was 1000pixels wide, is there a feature in JQuery that would allow me to insert the cell 250pixels into the row and have a cell width of 50pixels and insert another cell 500pixels into the row with a cell width of 100pixels. I know how to set a cells width using JQuery, just not distance into a row. The values wont ever be the exact same as above though because they are actually read from a database, so for example, one cell would have the following values: CELL_01 $start=100; $finish=150; the above would mean a new cell is needed that needs to be inserted 100pixels into the row and has a width of 50pixels, I just cant seem to find a way to implement this feature into my application. How could I accomplish this task? Sorry for such a strange question, but i just cant seem to get this working. Thanks!

  • Using diff and patch to force one local code base to look like another

    I've noticed this strange behavior of diff and patch when I've used them to force one code base to be identical to another. Let's say I want to update update_me to look identical to leave_unchanged. I go to update_me. I run a diff from leave_unchanged to update_me. Then I patch the diff into update_me. If there are new files in leave_unchanged, patch asks me if my patch was reversed! If I answer yes, it deletes the new files in leave_unchanged. Then, if I simply re-run the patch, it correctly patches update_me. Why does patch try to modify both leave_unchanged and update_me? What's the proper way to do this? I found a hacky way which is to replace all +++ lines with nonsense paths so patch can't find leave_unchanged. Then it works fine.   • ASP.NET Canceling the Default Submit Button

    I have an ASP.NET application where there's a few ASP.NET buttons and several plain HTML buttons. Anytime there's a textbox where a user hits enter, the ASP.NET button trys to submit the form. I know I can change the defaultButton, but I don't want there to be any default button. I just want it so when the user presses enter it doesn't do anything. I've tried setting defaultButton to blank, but that doesn't seem to work and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere on the web. What's the code to make this happen? Thanks.

    I have a web application that I want to sync with Flickr. I don't want the users to have to log into Flickr so I plan to use a single login. I don't know what my_auth_callback should look like though. I suspect it will have to post my login information to flickr.   • Problem with Scrolling UITableView

    Hello, I have a navigation-based application that has a scrolling UITableView filled with the contents of a directory. Somehow, when I try to scroll a new cell into view, the application crashes. I have determined that it goes down to these lines of code in - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {: NSString *cellText = [contentArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.textLabel.text = cellText; Now why this is crashing, I don't know. contentArray is a NSArray with the table data.   • IE bug with TD's tables and whitespace?

    Hi there, I have a page that is using tables, in FF etc it works perfect, but in IE7 it causes issues, its basically where the four corners have a td and and img (its a rounded corner form) .. if i remove the whitespace from the document it fixes the issue.. What actually happens is that it messes up the tables.. it puts a thin white line between the upper tr that holds the 2 corners and the next tr I need to remove the the whitespace between the img and the TD, is there a better work around, as i have lots and not only that if i reformat the document the problem returns.. here is a simple example.. <table width="100%" height="418" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#F04A23" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px"> <tr> <td width="12" align="left" valign="top"> <img src="content/images/corner_left.gif" width="12" height="12" /> </td> as you can see there is white space between img and td... and i remove it so it looks like this <img src="content/images/corner_left.gif" width="12" height="12" /></td> the problem is gone, (notice the td and image are right next to each other) Any ideas, i tried setting all sorts of css, padding 0px, margins 0px etc ... Any ideas really appreciated

    I'm trying to put all words in a trie in a string, a word is detonated by the eow field being true for a certain character in the trie data structure, hence a trie can could have letters than lead up to no word, for ex "abc" is in the trie but "c"'s eow field is false so "abc" is not a word Here is my Data structure struct Trie { bool eow; //when a Trie field isWord = true, hence there is a word char letter; Trie *letters[27]; }; and here is my attemped print-all function, basically trying to return all words in one string seperated by spaces for words string printAll( string word, Trie& data) { if (data.eow == 1) return word + " "; for (int i = 0; i < 26; i++) { if (data.letters[i] != NULL) printAll( word + data.letters[i]->letter, *(data.letters[i])); } return ""; } Its not outputting what i want, any suggestions?

  • SVN Serve, Missing a Directory

    I'm sure this is an asinine question, and I blame myself for not fully understanding how the SVNSERVE process works. I have an SVN repo, but it needs to be moved to a server within a clients cloud. I did this a while back and ran into the issue of the SVNSERVE.exe process not getting set to the right directory. I have the SVNSERVE.exe process running as a windows service and pointing to the right directory. There are two other repos there that are serving out fine in the same directory. I copied out the new directory just like I did with the others, but I'm getting the error "No repository found". I thought that SVNSERVE just looked at that directory and served out the repositories that were there, but I have had a hard time finding more information about that. I thought it was a Windows permission problem, but I set the whole folder to be full control to EVERYONE, so that's not it. I feel horrible I didn't fully understand this problem the first time I fought it, but it's late on a Sunday night and clients are yelling. Anyone know what I'm missing? Thanks. EDIT: It's specific to the repository. I tested the same process with some of the other repos we have on our server and when I copied them up, they worked just as expected. This bug is breaking me and I wish I could provide more details, but that's all I know. I'm going to try to do an SVN Dump instead of an XCopy and see how that goes. I'll let you know.

Create a key called FacebookDisplayName with a string value, and add the Display Name you configured in the App Dashboard. Create an array key called URL types with a single array sub-item called URL Schemes. Give this a single item with your app ID prefixed with fb. This is used to ensure the application will receive the callback URL of the web-based OAuth flow. The finished .plist should look something like this: My question is where to put these values? They already put this image, maybe it helps you to answer me Edit The problem that I don't have any plist file in my framework in xcode and I can't add a new one because if i did, I would have to add all the variables that you see in the image but the tutorial just stated about some of them
