• Is there a way to prevent UIImagePickerController change statusbar style?

  UIImagePickerController changes statusbar style to black/opaque. I want to keep status-bar style black/translucent. I'm finding a way to prevent status bar style changing. Or making it transited smoothly. Now, presenting UIImagePickerController changes status-bar style instantly, even -[presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES] specified. Any method, welcome, including hacking or private method. This is an app for AppStore, however I want to even try.

• Using setSourceType with image picker up hides status bar

  I am pretty sure this is a bug but I thought I would check. I used the camera overlay to add a button so that on the iphone a user can switch from the camera view to the photo library. When button is taped the source type switches fine but the status bar is missing from the photo library. Throughout the rest of that session the status bar remains missing from all views evet thougth isStatusBarHidden reports NO. This is how the camera overlay view is created if (cameraOverlayView == nil) { [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"CameraOverlayView" owner:self options:nil]; } If camera is available this is when I set source type and add overlay if ([UIImagePickerController isSourceTypeAvailable:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera]) { [imagePicker setSourceType:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera]; [imagePicker setCameraOverlayView:cameraOverlayView]; } Here is the action statement to change source type. (IBAction)selectImage; { [imagePicker setSourceType:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypePhotoLibrary]; } If I don't tap the button on the overlay there is no problem with the status bar. PS. I did submit a bug report on this.

• XNA or C# Pop-up progress bar for the LoadContent() method

  Hey people, We wrote a small game using Microsoft's XNA Game Studio 3.1. The LoadContent() takes a long time because, other than loading models, and config files, we're also running some one-time (per run) terrain analysis. We are not C# or XNA programmers... we're Java programmers, and want to be able to give the user some feedback that the system is loading. Preferably, this will be through a simple pop-up with a progress bar that will say something simple like "loading please wait". The progress bar doesn't have to be a 0 to 1 progress bar, it can instead be one of those 'back and forth' progress bars. I was hoping for some quick copy-paste ready code to just do that - as it is not a central piece of our project, nor do we have a need to delve into too much documentation. I appreciate you time, effort, and possible donation. Thanks.

There will be 6 buttons around the circle which when the user hovers over, and when one is hovered I want a circular bar to animate anti-clockwise. • SQL Server Reporting Services Bar Chart

  I am trying to create horizontal bar chart to look like a pill chart. I would like to take a either a stacked bar chart or a 100% stacked bar chart and put rounded ends onto this chart. I would only be using 1 row within the chart. One idea I had was just putting rounded images on either end of the chart to accomplish this but I'm not sure that this will give the smooth feel of a single pill. Does anyone have a good suggestion? I am not tied to the idea of using a chart object. But I would prefer to stay away from third party components that need to be purchased.

I have to open many files in many directories, and sometimes I forget what directory they are in. Just easier to display the some of the path in the status bar if that is possible. • Load all tab bar views when application first runs

  Here's the problem. I have a tab bar controller with 4 separate views. When I navigate from the first view to the second view, it takes some time to load up the second view. What I want to do is be able to load and initialize all of my tab bar views during my splash screen. That way, when the user navigates between the tab views, there is no wait time.   I have several tableviews with navigation controller. The navigation bar is white for all the views except the last one, which is red. I have [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setTintColor:[UIColor redColor]; in the viewDidLoad of the last tableview and [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setTintColor:[UIColor whiteColor]; in the viewDidLoad of other table views. It works fine until I get to the last view and the color of the navigation bar changes to red. When I go back to the previous views, all the previous views' navigation bar has changed to red.   Just finishing off an update to an application written in VB.NET that used to run fine under CE.NET 4.2. Deployment platform is now Windows Mobile 6.1. The application runs in full screen, however whenever a new form is opened, the task bar, i.e. the bar with the start button comes to the fore and then the new form takes over. This is particularly annoying as I have a form that has many sub forms which are 128,128 and still the task bar flashes and obscures part of the user input screen. Has anyone comes across this? Any known workarounds?

  In the simulator I went to Hardware menu and activated the simulation of bigger status bar during phone call. Now, I tried to make a view in my nib that takes up the whole screen. As soon as the status bar gets smaller, I want my view to get bigger, so it uses that space up there. But regardless of any autoresizing settings, my view will keep pressed down after that status bar gets smaller. There is a empty slot left where the status bar was after hanging up the call. What's that actually supposed to be? Is my app recognizing the status bar as a view, or is the status bar indeed making my screen smaller? I mean...does it mess around with my views as if it was a view itself, or do my views not know about a status bar, but about a smaller screen size when the status bar gets bigger? How do you get your views big again when the status bar returns to normal height?

  I have a navigation bar, and underneath a black div on which the drop-down elements from the navigation bar drops. This is not the main function of the black div.   Note: I am NOT referring to Internet Explorer. I am using Windows XP and Windows Server 2008 and need to delete the history values from the file browser (aka Windows Explorer). Somebody put a password into the address bar as ftp://user:pass, and now I can't delete the value. Some forums say to delete this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\TypedPaths In Windows XP, the key doesn't exist, and in Windows Server 2008, the key is there, but deleting it doesn't seem to help. Any help?

  I would like to use the unity option in ubuntu but without the unity sidebar. I've seen how I can select to use just gnome from the login screen but there are some things I like about the unity interface. E.g. From what I've seen I like the integrated application menu with the ubuntu menu up the top that unity option comes with. So I really just want to turn the launch bar off.   i have a folder on the desktop which has a bunch of programs i use frequently, i can't pin all these programs to the taskbar themselves as there are too many for the screen width that it'll just make the taskbar scrollable i am wondering if i can do one of the following pin the icons to the taskbar under 1 icon pin the folder to the taskbar separately to the Windows Explorer button which when there are no folders open will open up the libraries and if there are folders it'll show me the folders open, this way if i have 5 folders open and my frequently used programs folder i can just click on the frequently used programs folder icon on the taskbar and be given that folder only i'm trying to reduce the number of clicks, scrolling or scanning across the task bar i need to do in order to find a program

I installed it and I liked everything about it I could customize the color of it etc. Two times now it's changed to this newer version, and I don't know how to stop it from changing to this new version, it does it on it's own. • Firefox tabs in titlebar - can't drag maximised windows across monitors

  In Windows 7, you can drag a maximised window from one monitor to the next by dragging the titlebar. However, Firefox 4 now places tabs in the title bar when it's maximised. This means that when I try and drag my Firefox window to the other monitor I end up dragging a tab instead of the whole Firefox window. It's quite annoying, as I'm used to "flicking" Windows from one monitor to the next. Does anyone know a way to stop Firefox from using the title bar for tabs?

  Basically I love quick launch and pinning is not for me, I can't just pin 50 apps, nor pin them to start menu / use the win + type method. Anyway, Quick Launch works perfectly under Win7 IF you don't use the language bar. If you use it, sometimes (or always) it may fail to start/appear, you have to readd it.   I have a Lenovo T400 laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series video card, using the ATI Catalyst Control Center to span my Windows XP display over the laptop display and a Dell flatpanel LCD. • Chrome: automatically redirect me to highest ranking search result, like Firefox does

  How to emulate the Firefox (I'm using v3.6) address bar search redirection in Google Chrome? For example, if I type... imdb moon ...to the address bar and press Return in Firefox then it redirects me straight to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1182345/ (and I've not visited the page before) When I try this is Chrome then I just get the google search page http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=imdb+moon So seems like Firefox redirects automatically to the highest ranking search result URL - is there a setting or add-on for Chrome to achieve the same behaviour?

• Language bar switched input types on me.

  I learned Japanese, but I'm not native to Japan, so I never had a Japanese keyboard. I used to use the language bar to go back and forth between English and Japanese, simply typing the words in romaji and having windows convert it into either hiragana, katakana and sometimes Kanji. Suddenly, my input type changes. I am no longer able to simply type in English, it changed my keyboard into a native Japanese keyboard, and what's worse it doesn't even allow me to write in hiragana, which I would need way more than katakana. Can anyone tell me how to restore it to the old setting where I simply chose what the output dialect would be, and typed the words phonetically in english and have it translate the sounds for me into japanese characters?
