  • "Detecting" and loading of "plugins" in GAE

    Hi! I have a "plugin like" architecture and I want to create one instance of each class that implements a dedicated interface and put these in a cache. (To have a singleton-ish effect). The plugins will be provided as jars and put into the app engine war file before the app is uploaded. I have tried to use the ClassPathScanningCandidateComponentProvider as I'm using spring anyway, but this didn't work. The provider complained that it was not able to find the HttpServletResponse class file while scanning the classpath. I can't get around this, when I add the servlet jar, then I'll get of course problems, because the same jar is also provided by the GAE. If I don't, I'm getting the error above... So I tried to add a static initialization code, but of course this doesn't work, because the class is initialized when it's instantiated for the first time. (Well I knew that but it was worth a try) The last chance I currently see is that I create a properties file with all plugin classes when the package is created, but this requires writing of a maven plugin etc. and I'd like to avoid that. Is there something that I am missing?

    I want define a functions that accepts &rest - parameters and delegates them to another function. (html "blah" "foo" baz) = "blahfoobaz" I did not find a better way than this one: (defun html (&rest values) (concatenate 'string "" (reduce #'(lambda(a b) (concatenate 'string a b)) values :initial-value "") "")) But this looks somewhat glumbsy to me, since line 4 does no more than concatenating the &rest parameter "values". I tried (concatenate 'string "" (values-list values) "") but this does not seem to work (SBCL). Could someone give me an advice? Kind regards

    Hello all, I'm trying to use php's file_get_content('a url'); The thing is if the url has '&' in it, for example file_get_contents('http://www.google.com/?var1=1&var2=2') it automatically make a requests to www.google.com/?var1=1&amp<no space here>;var2=2 How do I prevent that from happening?

    Hi folks I know there is a Hash() object in the Javascript prototype framework, but is there anything in Jquery like this? As I would like to stick with one javascript framework, rather than mixing the Prototype Frame work and the JQuery framework and use at the same time, as I worry there will be conflict and create side-effects.   • how to convert numbers to alpha numeric system with php

    Im not sure what this is called, which is why im having trouble searching for it. What im looking to do, is take numbers, and convert them to some alpha numeric base so that the number say 5000, wouldnt read 5000, but like G4u or something like that. The idea being to save space and also not make it obvious how many records there are in a given system. Im using php, so if there is something like this built into php even better, but even a name for this method would be helpful at this point Again, sorry for not being able to be more clear, im just not sure what this is called.

  • How to search array for duplicates using a single array?

    I am checking a list of 10 spots, each spot w/ 3 top users to see if a user is in an array before echoing and storing. foreach($top_10['top_10'] as $top10) //loop each spot { $getuser = ltrim($top10['url'], " users/" ); //strip url if ($usercount < 3) { if ((array_search($getuser, $array) !== true)) { echo $getuser; $array[$c++] = $getuser; } else { echo "duplicate <br /><br />"; } } } The problem I am having is that for every loop, it creates a multi-dimensional array for some reason which only allows array_search to search the current array and not all combined. I am wanting to store everything in the same $array. This is what I see after a print_r($array) Array ( [0] => 120728 [1] => 205247 ) Array ( [0] => 232123 [1] => 091928 )

    I want to pull data from table "Province_Notifiers" and also fetch all corresponding items from table "Province_Notifier_Datas". The table "Province_Notifier" has a guid to identify it (PK), table "Province_Notifier_Datas" has a column called BelongsToProvinceID witch is a foreign key to the "Province_Notifier" tables guid.   • MVC best practice when adding functions to controller?

    Hi I'm writing a function in my controller; this is supposed to take in a form, process it, register the user in DB, send a confirmation email etc etc. to avoid this function to be too cluttered, I was thinking of calling some sub-functions (eg: function registration() { //process form.. _insertInDb($formdata) _send_mail($address); //load confirmation view.. } function _send_mail($to) { //code here } function _insertInDb($formdata) { //other code here... } I'm not sure whether writing all the functions in the controller would be best practice -maybe I should insert all 'supporting' function (eg send_mail and insertInDb in this example) in another file and then import them? This would probably make the controller much more readable.. what's your view?

  • Drupal, custom formatter module: PHP has encountered an Access Violation

    hi, I'm having a problem with custom formatters in Drupal. I'm using a custom formatter on a CCK file file with the following content: but when I select it to use I get an internal server error: PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 16B357F9 Please note: 1) It sometimes worked, but the page becomes soon unavailable after a while 2) I've tried to replace the custom formatter content with a simple Hello and I get the error anyway, so it should not be related to the content. 3) I'm using another custom formatter with another CCK field and it doesn't give any error.     Hi Based on this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3013034/what-is-difference-between-where-and-join-in-linq My question is following: Is there a performance difference in the following two statements: from order in myDB.OrdersSet from person in myDB.PersonSet from product in myDB.ProductSet where order.Persons_Id==person.Id && order.Products_Id==product.Id select new { order.Id, person.Name, person.SurName, product.Model,UrunAdi=product.Name }; and from order in myDB.OrdersSet join person in myDB.PersonSet on order.Persons_Id equals person.Id join product in myDB.ProductSet on order.Products_Id equals product.Id select new { order.Id, person.Name, person.SurName, product.Model,UrunAdi=product.Name }; I would always use the second one just because it´s more clear. My question is now, is the first one slower than the second one? Does it build a cartesic product and filters it afterwards with the where clauses ? Thank you.

    I have a class: class test { function __construct() { print 'hello'; } function func_one() { print 'world'; } } what I would like to do is a have a class that sort of extends the test class. I say 'sort of', because the class needs to be able to run whatever function the test class is able to run, but NOT run the construct unless I ask it to. I do not want to override the construct. Anyone has any idea how to achieve this?

    When i am inheriting from std::exception in order to define my own exception type, i need to override the what() method, which has the following signature: virtual const char* what() const throw(); This definitely looks strange to me, like if there were two method names in the signature. Is this some very specific syntax, like with pure virtual methods, e.g.: virtual int method() const = 0; or is this a feature, that could somehow be used in another context, too? And if so, for what could it be used?

  • Why is new showat attribute required when using code generation?

    When I generate code using T4 templates in Visual Studio 2010, I get the following error for each of my asp controls when I try to compile: Control "ddState" is missing required attribute "showat". I have never gotten this error in previous versions of .NET. Further, I don't get this error when I manually construct my pages either by dragging/dropping, nor do I get it when I type out the control text myself. When I generate code, I have to manually add showat="client" to my tag for the compiler to be happy. It was my understanding that I never had to explicitly specify this tag. The following: <asp:dropdownlist id="ddState" runat="server" showat="client" /> solves the problem. Why do I have to add this to generated code but not other times? (It's a VS-2010 webforms project, using VB, in case that makes a difference.)
