    I have a KWorld UB445-U ATSC Hybrid TV Stick. I've tried MythTV, but it kept crashing when I was trying to set it up, and didn't get anywhere with it. I've tried VLC and just tried Kaffiene. I'm not sure how to work VLC or Kaffeine to accept my TV. Can someone help me with it?   • SSH as root using public key still prompts for password on RHEL 6.1

    I've generated rsa keys with cygwin ssh-keygen and copied them to the server with ssh-copy-id -i id_rsa.pub [email protected] I've got the following settings in my /etc/ssh/sshd_config file RSAAuthentication yes PubkeyAuthentication yes AuthorizedKeysFile .ssh/authorized_keys PermitRootLogin yes When I ssh [email protected] it still prompts for a password. The output below from /usr/sbin/sshd -d says that a matching keys was found in the .ssh/authorized_keys file, but it still requires a password from the client. I've read a bunch of web postings about permissions on files and directories, but nothing works. Is it possible to ssh with keys in RHEL 6.1 or is this forbidden?   • Micromax 3G mobile internet modem not being detected

    I have Micromax 3G modem, and i inserted it in the USB port, but it is not being detected by Ubuntu 12.04, that i'm using from a Live USB. I tried creating a mobile internet connection, however, eventhough i created it, there is no option to connect. I had previously used 11.10 Ubuntu, and it had automatically detected the datastick modem and asked me to create a connection.   • HLSL Pixel Shader that does palette swap

    I have implemented a simple pixel shader which can replace a particular colour in a sprite with another colour. It looks something like this: sampler input : register(s0); float4 PixelShaderFunction(float2 coords: TEXCOORD0) : COLOR0 { float4 colour = tex2D(input, coords); if(colour.r == sourceColours[0].r && colour.g == sourceColours[0].g && colour.b == sourceColours[0].b) return targetColours[0]; return colour; } What I would like to do is have the function take in 2 textures, a default table, and a lookup table (both same dimensions). Grab the current pixel, and find the location XY (coords) of the matching RGB in the default table, and then substitute it with the colour found in the lookup table at XY. I have figured how to pass the Textures from C# into the function, but I am not sure how to find the coords in the default table by matching the colour. Could someone kindly assist?   • External USB 3 drive not recognized

    Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit seems not to recognize my external hard disk. It is a Vantec NST-310S3 external disk enclosure with a WD 3TB drive. The disk has two NTFS partitions. My PC is a dual boot system. Under Windows 7 the hard disk works fine but I can't make it work with Ubuntu. When the drive is connected to the PC then the command sudo fdisk -l seems to hang forever. Below are the output of lsusb and cat /proc/partitions without the external drive and then with it connected. I added also the last lines of the dmesg command at the end. Despite some (apparent) improvements over the VS2008 behavior, in its current form it's even LESS usable than before. A brief non-exhaustive summary of the typical grief with this dialog is: Scrolling a list of *hundreds* of entries? (300+ typically) No partial matching when typing: yes, you can type in the list to get to the desired entry, but the matching is performed in an exact manner, from the beginning of the assembly name.     On a Sony Vaio VPCEG, bluetooth is not working properly: The gnome-shell bluetooth indicator (at the main bar) shows the bluetooth is on, but when I try to switch visibility on it simply doesn't turn on. When I open the bluetooth configuration dialog, the on/off indicator shows me the bluetooth is off. And when I try to turn it on it simply does not turn on.   • Extract a pattern from the output of curl

    I would like to use curl, on the command line, to grab a url, pipe it to a pattern, and return a list of urls that match that pattern. I am running into problems with greedy aspects of the pattern, and can not seem to get past it. Any help on this would be apprecaited. curl http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/ | grep -ioE "http://imgur\.com/.+(jpg|jpeg|gif|png)" So, grab the data from the url, which returns a mess of html, which may need some linebreaks somehow replaced in, onless the regex can return more than one pattern in a single line. The patter is pretty simple, any string that matches... starts with http://imgur.com/ has A-Z a-z 0-9 (maybe some others) and is so far, 5 chars long, 8 should cover it forever if I wanted to limit that aspect of the patter, which I don't ends in a .grraphic_file_format_extention (jpg, jpeg, gif, png) Thats about it, at that url, with default settings, I should generally get back a good set of images. I would not be objectionable to using the RSS feel url for the same page, it may be easier to parse actually. Thanks everyone!

  • PTR and A record must match?

    RFC 1912 Section 2.1 states the following: Make sure your PTR and A records match. For every IP address, there should be a matching PTR record in the in-addr.arpa domain. If a host is multi-homed, (more than one IP address) make sure that all IP addresses have a corresponding PTR record (not just the first one). Failure to have matching PTR and A records can cause loss of Internet services similar to not being registered in the DNS at all. Also, PTR records must point back to a valid A record, not a alias defined by a CNAME. It is highly recommended that you use some software which automates this checking, or generate your DNS data from a database which automatically creates consistent data. This does not make any sense to me, should an ISP keep matching A records for every PTR record? It seems to me that it's only important if the IP address that the PTR record describes is hosting a service that is sensitive to DNS being mismatched (such as email hosting). In that case the forward zone would be configured under a domain name (examples follow the format 'zone - record'): domain.tld -> mail IN A 1.2.3.4 And the PTR record would be configured to match: 3.2.1.in-addr.arpa -> 4 IN PTR mail.domain.tld. Would there be any reason for the ISP to host a forward lookup for an IP address on their network like this?: ispdomain.tld -> broadband-ip-1 IN A 1.2.3.4

    I'm working on a regex to match valid integer numbers such as the following: 0 1 99 999 However it should not allow matching an empty string. The closest I can get is: (0)|\\d{1,3} Which to me says a matching string will have either a zero or a series of digits between 1 and 3 characters long. However, empty strings still appear to match this pattern. What's the proper way to exclude empty strings from this regex?

    Hi all, I have set up AuthLogic almost exactly as per the AuthLogic example app at http://github.com/binarylogic/authlogic_example. After someone logs in as User, they can click on links that send them away into the system and away from the users controller. This is an incredibly noob question, but how can I access that User's ID and other attributes from anywhere else, such as an unrelated view or unrelated controller? An example of what I'd like to do: #matchings controller @matching = Matching.find_by_user_id(user.id)
