    So I have PHP script running on cron daily. It is suppose to check the date and send an email if it is 7 days before any payments as a reminder. I haven't used PHP in a long time so sorry if the way I did it was ridiculous or something. Thanks a lot.   • c# user notification while waiting

    Hi, I am writing a simple win forms app in C#. There is a method call in my method which loads files but is taking a while to respond. Below is the method call Directory.GetFiles(selectedFolder, "*.xml", SearchOption.AllDirectories); I want to notify this to users. Is there a way to show them that file loading is in progress? I want a simplest way. I suppose Splash screen is too costly for my app. Thanks, Sid

  • How can I clear the notification center from Terminal?

    I really like terminal-notifier and how it allows you to send things to the notification center. It even has a handy feature to remove the notifications that it sent, for example if I spoofed a notification from another app like CodeKit, syntax being: terminal-notifier -sender com.incident57.CodeKit -remove ALL But I guess this application is not able to clear the notifications that it did not send, as the other messages are still hanging around: It's a great tool but it still leaves me wondering: How can I clear the notification center from Terminal?

  • Datatype to use for collection of QT buttons

    Hi Everyone, I am brand new to QT and need to develop the Mancala game. Since I'm brand new to the QT environment, my plan it to keep things very simple. I will be using the "Push Button" widget as pieces on the game. Since two players play this game, my idea is to have to arrays of buttons. One array for player 1 and the other for player 2. My question is since I am using "Push Button" widgets, how can I group them to iterate through? I notice that QT has both the array and vector data types but I'm confused on how these data types can be used to "group" the buttons. Does anyone know of any sample code or tutorials to look at to learn more? Thanks for your time and any input provided.

  • Git: How do I rewind the Master branch on the remote origin

    I made 5 commits to Master branch when bug hunting on a private project and pushed them to the remote origin (my own private vps). Then I saw that commits 4 and 5 were going to cause trouble elsewhere and I need to undo them, so I checked out commit 3 again, made a new branch "Dev" from that point, and did a few more commits fixing the issue properly. Then I did git reset --hard HEAD~2 on Master to pull it back to the point that I branched Dev. Then I did git merge to fast forward Master back to the end of the Dev branch. So now I have a local repository, with Dev and Master both pointing to the same, up to date version of the project with the latest bug fix. Problem is, when I try to push the project now to the origin, it fails and gives me an error message: ! [rejected] master - master (non-fast forward) error: failed to push some refs to 'myserver...myproject.git' What have I done wrong, and how do I fix it? Thanks

  • How can I have it to where "git push" pushes to local repositories?

    I can do "git remote add origin x@x:~/blah" and "git push" will work. But if I create a local copy "git clone ~/blah" inside /var -- then "git remote add local /var/blah" inside ~/blah, when I try "git push" it doesn't push the updates. How can I make git push updates to local copies? I have a shared library I use in a bunch of projects. I use "git clone" inside other folders to get a local copy of the library. When I update the main library I have to go to each local copy and type "git pull" to get the updates? How can I say "git push" to push code to all libraries?

    As a playlist or internet radio station plays, a notification pops up in the top right corner every time the song changes. I can't find any way either within Banshee or settings in general to stop this. How do I stop Banshee from putting a notification in the panel for every song? Further, can I stop Banshee from outputting any notifications at all? Update: I tried going into Banshee ? Edit ? Preferences ? Extensions, and disabled the Sound Menu Integration, but this does not seem to stop notifications.

    I love my Delphi 4 but at the same time I see the need to talk to windows .net This is a recompiled dll that I found on sourceforge.net/projects/delphinet/ (DelphiNet03.zip) by some nice people that fund the dll from some were. The real answer is to make this dll so that fits into Delphi as true Delphi code, and not a dll clip on. So we can make objects that use dot net in Delphi. Because I’m not an assembly freak, I’m freaking out a little with a wee sweek for help! 1/ How do I link the asm code with the data info at the bottom of this code. Can some one show me which calls to look for to make this link to data. 2/ I need to find the beginning of all the procedures and functions, but I cannot find a ‘RET’ statement.   • How to make notification to group users with read/unread flag?

    I am making a notification system so that when users in a group perform an action, it will notify all the other users in the group. I want the notification to be marked "read" or "unread" for each user of the group. With that, I can easily retreive any unread notification for a user and display it. I am think about creating a notification table that have the following fields. +----------------------+ | notification | +----------------------+ | id | | userid | | content | | status (read/unread) | | time | +----------------------+ My question is: Whether it is the correct way of making the system? As it means that when there is 1,000 users in a group, then I have to insert 1,000 rows to the table. If not, what is the better way of doing this? If it is the way to do this, how can I write the php/mysql codes to do the looping of inserting the rows? Thanks!

  • PendingIntent sent from a notication.

    Hi, What im trying to accomplish is to send a notification through the notification manager that once clicked will do something in the application only if its currently running. i have tried to use: notification.contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, nNotificationCounter, Someintent, PendingIntent.FLAG_NO_CREATE) Which allways caused an exception once trying to use the notify. I switched to: Notification notification = new Notification(icon, tickerText, when); RemoteViews contentView = new RemoteViews(getPackageName(), R.layout.some_notification); contentView.setTextViewText(R.id.title, sTitle); contentView.setTextViewText(R.id.text, sText); notification.contentView = contentView; notification.defaults |= Notification.DEFAULT_SOUND; notification.number = nNotificationCounter; Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(this, MainWindow.class).setAction(ACTION_RESET_MESSGE_COUNTER); notification.contentIntent = PendingIntent.getBroadcast(this, nNotificationCounter, notificationIntent, 0); and although this code doesn't cause an exception. it doesnt call my BroadcastReceiver which is defined as follows: public class IncomingReceiver extends BroadcastReceiver { @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { if (intent.getAction().equals(ACTION_RESET_MESSGE_COUNTER)) { System.out.println("GOT THE INTENT"); return; } } } and set in the onCreate: IntentFilter filter = new IntentFilter(ACTION_RESET_MESSGE_COUNTER); IncomingReceiver receiver = new IncomingReceiver(); context.registerReceiver(receiver, filter); Does anyone see something wrong with the code?   • Determine whether app is communicating with APNS sandbox or production environment

    I have push notifications set up in my app. I'm trying to determine whether the device token I've received from APNS in the application:didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken: method came from the sandbox or development environment. If I can distinguish which environment initialized the token, I'll be able to tell my server to which environment to send the push notification. I've tried using the DEBUG macro to determine this, but I've seen some strange behavior with this and don't trust it to be 100% correct. #ifdef DEBUG BOOL isProd = YES; #else BOOL isProd = NO; #endif Ideally, I'd be able to examine the aps-environment entitlement (value is Development or Production) in code, but I'm not sure if this is even possible. What's the proper way to determine whether your app is communicating with the APNS sandbox or production environments? I'm assuming that the server needs to know this in the first place. Please correct me if this is assumption is incorrect. Edited: Apple's documentation on Provider Communication with APNS details the difference between communicating with the sandbox and production. However, the documentation doesn't give information on how to be consistent with registering the token (from the iOS client app) and communicating with the server.

  • How to change the default branch to push in mercurial?

    I like creating named branches in Mercurial to deal with features that might take a while to code, so when I push I do a hg push -r default to insure I'm only pushing changes to the default branch. However, it is a pain to have to remember -r default every since time I do do a push or outgoing command. So I tried fix this by adding this config to my ~/.hgrc: [defaults] push = push -r default outgoing = outgoing -r default The problem is, those config lines are not really defaults, they are aliases. They work as intended until I try to do a hg push -r <some revision>. And the "default" I've setup just obliterates the revision I passed in. (I see that defaults are deprecated, but aliases have the same problem). I tried looking around, but I can't find anything that will allow me to set a default branch to push AND allow me to override it when necessary. Anyone know of something else I could do? ps: I do realize that I could have separate clones for each branch, but I would rather not do that. It's annoying to have to switch directories, particularly when you have shared configuration or editor workspaces.

    I switch between working at home and the office, and sometimes, like today, I forget to run a git commit/push. (I find it easy to ignore the command line since I'm still kind of a beginner, there.) How can I make it so that when I shut down my Ubuntu OS, it will follow this process: Check my local code against the github server, executing the rest of this script only if I've made newer changes. Add all new files. Make commits with a basic default comment. Push all changed code to origin master. If anyone knows how to do this, it would be a major assist. Also, anyone know how to do it for Mac OSX? :D

  • Is there a way to determine if a database has been altered, then to push new data to the Application

    All our (my company) currently applications pull information from that database, is their a way to get the following types of databses to either push data or push an event to allow the application to pull data. Access SQL Oracle File systems (Files and folders) The issue today is that most of our application spend a large amount of time constantly looking at databases and file system checking to see if data has changed . It would be better for the database to inform the application when data has changed. Are there tools within Visual studio to allow this or are there tools within the database / filesystem to do this? All ready asked this on stack overflow but go no answer. I've been doing some more research but I cant seem to get any further. My manager has asked to investigate it as it would mean our applications are much quicker and efficient.

  • What is the difference from the push and pull development models?

    I was reading Extreme Programming Explained, Second Edition and in the chapter 11 "The Theory of Constraints" the authors talk about the old and obsolete "push" development model and the XP way, the "pull" development model. It looks like a quite important concept, but it takes only a very small paragraph and two images that are mere illustrations of the "waterfall" and iterative process, nothing specific about these models except by the image caption. I searched and it doesn't go any further about it in the rest of the book. I couldn't find any further explanations or discussions about it in the Internet either. If the only difference about those is that one is "waterfall" and the other is iterative, them why push and why pull? Does anyone understand what is really the difference between those two and give some good examples?

But when I tried with this command winhttpcertcfg -g -c LOCAL_MACHINE\MY -s "CertificateName" -a "ASPNET" on command window after installing winhttpcertcfg. But I am getting the error "Unable to find or obtain a context for request certificate" Can you please suggest me, how to solve this error?

    I was trying to fetch remote notification info when the app was not running,so I was told that I can get from : UILocalNotification *localNotification = [launchOptions objectForKey:UIApplicationLaunchOptionsRemoteNotificationKey] in method: - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions ,but still can't get info. Then I use alertView to show the info on iPhone(launch without Xcode),still can't get the info. Any other issue would cause this? Please let me know if you have any ideas.
