  • How do I correctly set up Application Request Routing in IIS7 to route SSL requests?

    - by Matthew Belk
I have a 3-node web farm being managed by IIS7 and Application Request Routing. I have a folder hierarchy in my web app that needs to be secured via SSL. What is the best practice for getting ARR to correctly route these SSL requests? I have installed the same certificate on all web farm servers and the server running ARR. I have tried enabling and disabling the SSL Off-loading feature Thanks, Matthew

  • Can I use Google's Protocol buffers for processing LDAP requests in my LDAP server?

    - by Naga
Hi, I need to process the incoming predefined ASN format data(coming from verity of clients that uses BER library to build it) in my application server. This is typically an LDAP server where every request will be in a predefined ASN format. Can i use Google's protocol buffers to process the requests in the server side? Will it help any way to improve performance of my servers request handling? Is it anyway reduce the number of malloc() calls that happens while processing ASN messages? Thanks, Naga

  • What are the performance implications of wildcard mapping all requests through IIS 6.0?

    - by slolife
I am interested in using UrlRewriter.NET and noticed in the config page for IIS 6.0 on Win2k3, that they say to map all requests through the ASP.NET ISAPI. That's fine, but I am wondering if anyone has good or bad things to say about this performance wise? Is my web server going to be dragged down to its knees by doing this or will it be more of a small step up in server load? My server currently has room to breathe now, so some performance hit is expected and acceptable.

  • How can I catch all ajax requests in javascript ?

    - by Annan
Is it possible to have a global event handler for ajax requests that automatically gets called when any ajax request returns ? I'm interested in this because I'm making a greasemonkey script for an ajax site. In previous scripts I either ran the main function every few seconds or overwrote parts of the site's javascript, both things that are messy.

  • How to keep a shell open across multiple ajax requests in PHP?

    - by Joost van Doorn
I need to use a shell across multiple ajax requests. Basically this means that the next request should be able to continue with the same shell where the other process left off. The purpose is to communicate with daemons like FTP to open an FTP connection and log in and in the next request continue with that connection and be able to use it for uploads. But it's not limited to only the FTP daemon (as I know that FTP is supported in PHP).

  • How do I edit .htaccess to allow both rails and wordpress requests?

    - by jakefuentes
I want to run an instance of wordpress within my rails app. I currently have wordpress files housed in public/wordpress, but I need to configure my .htaccess file to allow both types of requests. How do I do that? currently, .htaccess is: General Apache options AddHandler fcgid-script .fcgi RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^$ index.html [QSA] RewriteRule ^([^.]+)/!$ $1.html [QSA] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ dispatch.fcgi [QSA,L] ErrorDocument 500 "Application error Application failed to start properly"

  • Moving .JS files to a CDN: How to manage AJAX requests?

    - by pagewil
    I am thinking of moving my static .JS files to a CDN such as Amazon S3 for performance reasons. As my PHP files and mySQL DB remain on my primary hosting domain what is the best way to manage my JS AJAX requests if they are now cross domain? Currently they look like this within my .JS file (with relative paths): $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "/myNearbyPhpFile.php", data: {data:someData}, success: function($r){} });

  • Tomcat IIS 7 Integration gives 503 errors on all requests.

    - by Yvan JANSSENS
Hi, After many attempts to install Tomcat on IIS 7, I finally managed to get it working. At least I think so :-S. I finally got the 500 errors away, by setting the correct permissions. The only thing that doesn't work is ... serving stuff: neither regular stuff (like ASP, HTML files, or directory browsing) or Tomcat things work. Here are my configs: Worker.properties # The workers that your plugins should create and work with # worker.list=worker1 #------ DEFAULT ajp13 WORKER DEFINITION ------------------------------ #--------------------------------------------------------------------- # Defining a worker named ajp13 and of type ajp13 # Note that the name and the type do not have to match. # worker.worker1.port=8009 worker.worker1.host=127.0.0.1 worker.worker1.type=ajp13 URIWorkerMap.properties /|/*=worker1 # Exclude the subdirectory static: !/static|/*=worker1 # Exclude some suffixes: !*.html=worker1 !*.asp=worker1 Server.xml <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?> <!-- Licensed to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) under one or more contributor license agreements. • how can i use apache log files to recreate usage scenario

    - by daigorocub
Recently i installed a website that had too many requests and it was too slow. Many improvements have been made to the web site code and we've also bought a new server. I want to test the new server with exactly the same requests that made the old server slow. After that, i will double the requests, make new tests and so on. These requests are logged in the apache log files. So, I can parse those files and make some kind of script to make the same requests. Of course, in this case, the requests will be made only by my computer against the server, but hey, better than nothing. Questions: - is there some app that does this already? - would you use wget? ab? python script? Thanks!

  • Implementing the transport layer for a SIP UAC

    - by Jonathan Henson
I have a somewhat simple, but specific, question about implementing the transport layer for a SIP UAC. Do I expect the response to a request on the same socket that I sent the request on, or do I let the UDP or TCP listener pick up the response and then route it to the correct transaction from there? The RFC does not seem to say anything on the matter. It seems that especially using UDP, which is connection-less, that I should just let the listeners pick up the response, but that seems sort of counter intuitive. Particularly, I have seen plenty of UAC implementations which do not depend on having a Listener in the transport layer. Also, most implementations I have looked at do not have the UAS receiving loop responding on the socket at all. This would tend to indicate that the client should not be expecting a reply on the socket that it sent the request on. For clarification: Suppose my transport layer consists of the following elements: TCPClient (Sends Requests for a UAC via TCP) UDPClient (Sends Requests for a UAC vid UDP) TCPSever (Loop receiving Requests and dispatching to transaction layer via TCP) UDPServer (Loop receiving Requests and dispatching to transaction layer via UDP) Obviously, the *Client sends my Requests. The question is, what receives the Response? The *Client waiting on a recv or recvfrom call on the socket it used to send the request, or the *Server? Conversely, the *Server receives my requests, What sends the Response? The *Client? doesn't this break the roles of each member a bit?

  • How do I reduce number of redundant requests with mod_perl properly?

    - by rassie
In a fairly big legacy project, I've refactored several hairy modules into Moose classes. Each of these modules requires database access to (lazy) fetch its attributes. Since those objects are used pretty heavily, I want to reduce the number of redundant requests, for example for unchanged data. Now, how do I do that properly? I've got several alternatives: Implement caching in my Moose classes via a role to store them in memcached with expiration of 5-10 minutes (probably not too difficult, but tricky with lazy attributes) update: KiokuDB could probably help here, have to read up about attributes Migrate to DBIx::Class (needs to be done anyway) and implement caching on this level (DBIC will probably take most of the pain away just by itself) Somehow make my objects persist inside the mod_perl process (no clue how to do this :() How would you do this and what do you consider a sane way? Is caching data preferred on object or the ORM level?
