  • SQL Joing on a one-to-many relationship

    Ok, here was my original question; Table one contains ID|Name 1 Mary 2 John Table two contains ID|Color 1 Red 2 Blue 2 Green 2 Black I want to end up with is ID|Name|Red|Blue|Green|Black 1 Mary Y Y 2 John Y Y Y It seems that because there are 11 unique values for color and 1000's upon 1000's of records in table one that there is no 'good' way to do this. So, two other questions. Is there an efficient way to get this result? I can then create a crosstab in my application to get the desired result. ID|Name|Color 1 Mary Red 1 Mary Blue 2 John Blue 2 John Green 2 John Black If I wanted to limit the number of records returned how could I do something like this? Where ((color='blue') AND (color<>'red' OR color<>'green')) So using the above example I would then get back ID|Name|Color 1 Mary Blue 2 John Blue 2 John Black I connect to Visual FoxPro tables via ADODB.     I'm building an application in Hibernate, Spring and JSF2 using only annotations. How can I take advantage of OpenSessionInViewInterceptor found in Spring to catch any hibernate session that might open within a bean? I'm trying to elegantly solve the common “failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: your.Class.assocation no session or session was closed.” problem when trying to read from a yet uninitialized list of POJOs inside another POJO (A Tag entity retrieved by a DAO that contains a List of Project objects I want to read). I've found this: http://www.paulcodding.com/blog/2008/01/21/using-the-opensessioninviewinterceptor-for-spring-hibernate3/ but failed to make use of it in my environment. Please provide a detailed answer, as the Internet is full of foggy, unhelpful tutorials. I'll also be greatful for an alternative solution, given a step-by-step instruction is provided.

  • OpenGLES mix and match blending options complicated question

    So I have a background line drawing, black and white. I want to be able to draw over this, keeping the black lines in there, and drawing only where it is white. I can do this by using glBlendFunc(GL_DST_COLOR, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); And the black stays black and white gets whatever color I want. However in the white areas, I want to be able to draw some color, pick to another color and then blend. However this doesn't work because the blend function is messed up. So what I was thinking is having a linedrawing framebuffer, and a user-drawing framebuffer. The user draws into the userdrawing framebuffer, with a different blending, and then I switch blending options and draw into the linedrawing framebuffer. But i don't know enough OpenGL to say whether or not this will work or is a stupid idea. Thanks a lot

In adobe indesign, using swatches we can change the mode to CMYK or to RGB. But I want to do that programmatically, Can I get any algorithm to convert CMYK to RGB which will give the correct RGB values. And one more question, if the alpha value for RGB is 1 then what will be the alpha value for CMYK? Can anyone help me to solve these issues... Thanks in advance.

  • ContentControl + RenderTargetBitmap + empty image

    Im trying to create some chart images without ever displaying those charts on the screen. I'v been at this for quite a while and tried a lot of different things but nothing seems to work. The code works perfectly if I display the chart in a window first, but if I don't display it in a window, the bitmap is just white with a black border (no idea why). I have tried adding the chart to a border before rendering and giving the border a green borderBrush. In the bitmap, I see the green borderBrush then the black border and white background but no chart. I don't know where the black border is coming from as the chart is not contained in a black border. I have tried adding the chart to a window without calling window.Show() and again just the black boarder and white background. However if I call window.Show() the bitmap contains the chart. I have tried using a drawingVisual as explained here, same result.     Hi, I got a crash dump (both mdmp and hdmp) for my application (written in C++) captured using dr. watson. After analyzing the dumps through windbg, I concluded that the crash had occurred in the catch() itself :) What I need to know is what exception caused the the failure in the first place i.e. I need that penultimate(last but one th) exception that had occurred. I know I could get the same by some other ways, but is there a specific command with which we could get the list of errors\exceptions occurring from the dump file. Thanks. --Samrat Patil

However the black rectangle is partially see through since its transparency is set to 20%, therefore it should appear in red, but of a darker red than the rectangle sitting under since it is actually a faded black item. Some rendering problem occurs because of the last line of code that sets the opacity of the containing AbsolutePanel to 100% (which in theory should not affect the visual result). Indeed in that case the panel lying over remains still see through but straight through the background colour of the page! It's like if the panel sitting under was not there at all... Any ideas? This is under GWT 2.0 and IE7.

    It seems to me that sIFRed text when selected allways have black background. My site design is dark (mostly black). So when use select sIFRed text it looks like nothing happens, it is selected but no one can see that cause both site and selected text background are black. Normal text have white or some kind of dark-green color depending on font color. How to change color of selected text background?

  • Nav drop down with rounded corner troubles...

    Hi I have worked on the following nav drop down seen here http://charmcitykids.missionmedia.net/. It works and is almost complete, but I have one issue. When you mouseover a nav title the text goes from color to black and then shows the dropdown. That is how it should work, but when you move your mouse to go a nav title within the dropdown the black text(active image) goes back to color and doesnt remain black. Any suggestion when dropdown is active and user is navigating through such to keep the text(active image) black? thnx jonah

    I am very new to php/mysql and this is causing me to loose hairs, I am trying to build a multi level site navigation. In this part of my script I am readying the sub and parent categories coming from a form for insertion into the database: // get child categories $catFields = $_POST['categories']; if (is_array($catFields)) { $categories = $categories; for ($i=0; $i<count($catFields); $i++) { $categories = $categories . $catFields[$i]"; } } // get parent category $select = mysql_query ("SELECT parent FROM categories WHERE id = $categories"); while ($return = mysql_fetch_assoc($select)) { $parentId = $return['parent']; } The first part of my script works fine, it grabs all the categories that the user has chosen to assign a post by checking the checkboxes in a form and readies it for insertion into the database. But the second part does not work and I can't understand why. I am trying to match a category with a parent that is stored in it's own table, but it returns nothing even though the categories all have parents. Can anyone tell me why this is? p.s. The $categories variable contains the sub category id.

    Is it possible to read HTML Web 2.0 Source Code that is dynamically generated ? The Perl LWP with its agent-response does not pick up any dynamically generated HTML code. Many websites today are generating dynamic html. If I am shoppping for best prices, and the prices are dynamically fetched and dumped, then I am out of business. Are we reaching the end of a era?

  • How to make an id auto_increment from where it last left off after a record delete?

    This isn't that big of a deal but I was wondering if it can be done. Right now when I insert a new record, the id field which is auto_increment and set as primary key increases it's value by one: id | first_name | last_name ------------------------------ 1 | John | Smith 2 | Jane | Doe But if I delete record 2, the next one I insert is going to have an id of 3. Is there any way to make it have an id of 2 automatically (without having to manually insert it)?

    Hi, Can anybody plz tell me is there any differnce between spml and wsdl?? Are they related to each other?? I got few things that wsdl is generic, used for any service while spml is only for provisioning services. I tried googling things but m not getting wat is exactly spml and wsdl. Thanks..
