  • phonegap crossplatform redirection to local file

    - by Marco Gagliardi
    Hi I'm developing a phonegap + JQueryMobile app, which should be correctly executed on Android, iOs and WindowsPhone as well. I need to exploit an external service wich requires one callback url to redirect the app to in case of success, and one in case of error (pretty common situation. In my case both will be local files, say www/success.html and www/error.html). Of course I could write different paths for each device (e.g. file:///android_asset/www/success.html on Android), but i'm wondering if the framework provide a more simple elegant solution. So the questions is, how can i get a unique absolute URL wich allows me to perform a cross-platform HTTP redirection from a remote web page to a local file within a phonegap application? Thanks

  • JQuery response is null but actual response is not

    - by Paul Petrick
    I'm using JQuery to make an Ajax call. I used a sniffer to catch the response text: {"error_code":0,"message":"SUCCESS","data":{"session_token":"3efd9dde-a839-4e91-9415-4c2f6cba5b7b"}} But the response returned on the success callback is null. Anyone got any ideas? (see jquery code below. Jquery code: $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "http://184.72.58.99/matchaapi/API/User/Login", data: { email: emailval, password: pwordval, developer_key: devkey }, dataType: "json", cache: false, beforeSend: function(xhr) { xhr.setRequestHeader( "Content-Type", "application/json; charset=utf-8" ); }, success: function(resp) { alert(resp); $("#status p").html(resp.message); }});

  • why does $.ajax(..) not work for me?

    - by dr jerry
    I'm running jquery from a file. And I'm trying to load a svg file from my localhost to populate a svg canvas. However that does not work as expected. What I do from filesystem: $.ajax({ url: url , timeout: 1000, complete: function(xml) { alert('complete'); }, success: function(xml, status, xreq) { alert('success'); }, error: function() { alert('error'); } }); the url reads: http://localhost/image.svg, when I read this url directly from an addressbar from the browser, the pages remains white but the pagesource displays the source of image.svg. Debugging the $.ajax code above, reveals that the success: method is hit, but xml response remains empty. Any help is greatly appreciated. regards, jeroen.

  • Help me refactor this nasty Ruby if/else statement

    - by Suborx
    Hello, so I have this big method in my application for newsletter distribution. Method is for updating rayons and I need to assign a user to rayon. I have relation n:n through table colporteur_in_rayons which has attributes since_date and until_date. I am a junior programmer and I know this code is pretty dummy :) I appreciate every suggestion. def update rayon = Rayon.find(params[:id]) if rayon.update_attributes(params[:rayon]) if params[:user_id] != "" unless rayon.users.empty? unless rayon.users.last.id.eql?(params[:user_id]) rayon.colporteur_in_rayons.last.update_attributes(:until_date => Time.now) Rayon.assign_user(rayon.id,params[:user_id]) flash[:success] = "Rayon #{rayon.name} has been succesuly assigned to #{rayon.actual_user.name}." return redirect_to rayons_path end else Rayon.assign_user(rayon.id,params[:user_id]) flash[:success] = "Rayon #{rayon.name} has been successfully assigned to #{rayon.actual_user.name}." return redirect_to rayons_path end end flash[:success] = "Rayon has been successfully updated." return redirect_to rayons_path else flash[:error] = "Rayon has not been updated." return redirect_to :back end end

  • Calling ASP.NET web service function via GET method with jQuery

    - by the_V
    Hi, I'm trying to call web service function via GET method using jQuery, but having a problem. This is a web service code: [WebService(Namespace = "http://something.com/samples")] [ScriptService] [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)] public class TestWebService : System.Web.Services.WebService { [WebMethod] public string Test2() { string result = null; try { result = "{'result':'success', 'datetime':'" + DateTime.Now.ToString() + "'"; } catch (Exception ex) { result = "Something wrong happened"; } return result; } } That's the way I call the function: $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "http://localhost/testwebsite/TestWebService.asmx/Test2", data: "{}", contentType: "application/json", dataType: "json", error: function (xhr, status, error) { alert(xhr.responseText); }, success: function (msg) { alert('Call was successful!'); } }); Method is called successfully, but result string gets covered by XML tags, like this: <string> {'result':'success', 'datetime':'4/26/2010 12:11:18 PM' </string> And I get an error because of this (error handler is called). Does anybody know what can be done about this?

  • Jquery mobile function calls before Ajax Request end

    - by rpmlins
    Here is my problem. When My Home page shows, I call the LoadUser functions, which on success, sets the globalUser variable with the returned json, and after it loads I call the alert function but it says globalUser is undefined. I have tried many other work arounds, but I always get the undefined mesage. If I call the alert(globalUser); on the success function, it works as expected alerting the object. $('#Home').live('pageshow', function(event) { $.when(LoadUser()).done(function(a1) { alert(globalUser); }); }); function LoadUser() { $.ajax({ // connects with the web service and validate de user input url: "http://localhost:51396/Icademy.asmx/GetUser", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: { "userName": "'rodrigo'" }, dataType: "jsonp", success: function(json) { globalUser = JSON.parse(json.d); return globalUser; }, error: function(ret) { alert("Um erro ocorreu, tente novamente mais tarde."); } }); }

  • $.ajax + authentication + `@` in username

    - by Koning Baard XIV
    I am creating a web app which uses jQuery to authenticate: $.ajax({ url: "/session/create?format=json", type: "GET", dataType: "json", cache: false, username: $("#signin-email").val(), password: $("#signin-password").val(), success: function(data) { if(data.success) { success = true; } } }); The problem is that the code only makes the AJAX-request when the username does not include things like an @, which is required in my app. Can anyone help me with how I can do this? I do not mind changing the back-end a little bit, but requiring users to have an @-less email is not an option. Oh, my back-end is a Ruby-on-Rails app

  • SQL SERVER – Weekend Project – Visiting Friend’s Company – Koenig Solutions

    - by pinaldave
    I have decided to do some interesting experiments every weekend and share it next week as a weekend project on the blog. Many times our business lives and personal lives are very separate, however this post will talk about one instance where my two lives connect. This weekend I visited my friend’s company. My friend owns Koenig, so of course I am very interested so see that they are doing well.  I have been very impressed this year, as they have expanded into multiple cities and are offering more and more classes about Business Intelligence, Project Management, networking, and much more. Koenig Solutions originally were a company that focused on training IT professionals – from topics like databases and even English language courses.  As the company grew more popular, Koenig began their blog to keep fans updated, and gradually have added more and more courses. I am very happy for my friend’s success, but as a technology enthusiast I am also pleased with Koenig Solutions’ success.  Whenever anyone in our field improves, the field as a whole does better.  Koenig offers high quality classes on a variety of topics at a variety of levels, so anyone can benefit from browsing this blog. I am a big fan of technology (obviously), and I feel blessed to have gotten in on the “ground floor,” even though there are some people out there who think technology has advanced as far as possible – I believe they will be proven wrong.  And that is why I think companies like Koenig Solutions are so important – they are providing training and support in a quickly growing field, and providing job skills in this tough economy. I believe this particular post really highlights how I, and Koenig, feel about the IT industry.  It is quickly expanding, and job opportunities are sure to abound – but how can the average person get started in this exciting field?  This post emphasizes that knowledge is power – know what interests you in the IT field, get an education, and continue your training even after you’ve gotten your foot in the door. Koenig Solutions provides what I feel is one of the most important services in the modern world – in person training.  They obviously offer many online courses, but you can also set up physical, face-to-face training through their website.  As I mentioned before, they offer a wide variety of classes that cater to nearly every IT skill you can think of.  If you have more specific needs, they also offer one of the best English language training courses.  English is turning into the language of technology, so these courses can ensure that you are keeping up the pace. Koenig Solutions and I agree about how important training can be, and even better – they provide some of the best training around.  We share ideals and I am very happy see the success of my friend. Being able to answer this question can provide important insight and value of good project management practices for your organization. According to 400 senior executives who participated in a new survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit and sponsored by Oracle, unrealistic project goals is the main reason for roadblocks to success Other common stumbling blocks are poor alignment between project and organizational goals, inadequate human resources, lack of strong leadership, and unwillingness among team members to point out problems. This survey sample also had a lot to say about the impact of regulatory compliance on the overall portfolio management process. Thirty-nine percent acknowledged that regulations enabled efficient functioning of their businesses. But a similar number said that regulations often require more financial resources than were originally allocated to bring projects in on time. Regulations were seen by 35 percent of the executives as roadblocks to their ability to invest in the organization’s growth and success. These revelations among others are discussed in depth in a new on-demand Webcast titled “Too Good to Fail: Developing Project Management Expertise in Financial Services” now available from Oracle. The Webcast features Brian Gardner, editor of the Economist Intelligence Unit, who presents these findings from this survey along with Guy Barlow, director of industry strategy for Oracle Primavera. Together, they analyze what the numbers mean for project and program managers and the financial services industry. Register today to watch the on-demand Webcast and get a full rundown and analysis of the survey results. Take the Economist Intelligence Unit benchmarking survey and see how your views compare with those of other financial services industry executives in ensuring project success.  Read more in the October Edition of the quarterly Information InDepth EPPM Newsletter

  • FAQ: Reshipping a Sun Certification

    - by Paul Sorensen
    If you obtained a Sun Certification before September 1, 2010, your success kit was shipped to the mailing address on record in your profile at certmanager.net/sun. At this time, if you require a reshipment for any reason of your original Sun Certification Certificate (it got damaged in the mail, you did not receive it, it needs to be sent to a different address, etc...), you will now receive access to an electronic reproduction of your original Certificate called an eCertificate. The Sun Certification ID card is no longer available and cannot be ordered from Oracle. This is to allow us to streamline this reshipping process and allow candidates to receive these certificates as quickly as possible.Candidates who earned a Java, Oracle Solaris, MySQL, NetBeans or OpenOffice.org certification on or after September 1, 2010 will receive their success kits in the mail within 6-8 weeks of completing the final certification requirement.

  • View matrix in opengl

    - by user5584
    Hi! Sorry for my clumsy question. But I don't know where I am wrong at creating view matrix. I have the following code: createMatrix(vec4f(xAxis.x, xAxis.y, xAxis.z, dot(xAxis,eye)), vec4f( yAxis.x_, yAxis.y_, yAxis.z_, dot(yAxis,eye)), vec4f(-zAxis.x_, -zAxis.y_, -zAxis.z_, -dot(zAxis,eye)), vec4f(0, 0, 0, 1)); //column1, column2,... I have tried to transpose it, but with no success. I have also tried to use gluLookAt(...) with success. At the reference page, I watched the remarks about the to-be-created matrix, and it seems the same as mine. Where I am wrong?
