• Communicating with web service on SSL

  Hi, I have a web service which previously was deployed on http. I used to generate stub classes using wsimport using wsimport http://localhost:8080/MiniForumService/MiniForumService?wsdl. Now I deployed it on SSL. But when I try to generate the stub classes from it using wsimport https://localhost:8443/MiniForumService/MiniForumService?wsdl but I'm getting the following error: unable to find valid certification path to requested target I'm using a self-signed certificate on the server. How can I solve this please? I've googled about but haven't found a solution till now Thanks and regards, Krt_Malta

• WPF issue: Showing HTML <DIV> on top of WPF app

  Hi, I am new to WPF. We are facing one issue. We are showing/launching a WPF browser application from an web (ASPX) application. The web application has a navigator menu with drop-downs (on hover). It works fine till the user is using the web application (aspx pages). But once the WPF application is launched (and is in the foreground on the aspx page) the dropdown menus that are on top of the WPF app is shown below the WPF application. The drop downs are in a <div> and we tried to put the ZINDEX value. But could not get any positive reply. Can somebody help?

• post commit hook fail

  I have Master/Slave setup using Win2k8R with SVN 1.6.9 and using TortoiseSVN 1.6.7. The access is through Apache and using http. Everything works but when I commit I get the following message: Error: post-commit hook failed (exit code 1) with output: Error: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. This happen when using multiple TortoiseSVN dialog for committing the files in rapid succession. If I use one TortoiseSVN dialog and wait till the commit reply is back then I won't see the problem. In other words, committing one at the time cause no issue. The post-commit script output is logged. Even though I get the above error but when I check the Master and Slave repository the files have been replicated okay with no issue. I am wondering how this issue can be solved.

  I read about Gomoku that it can be implemented using Minimax and Alpha-Beta Pruning algorithms. So, i read these algorithms and now understand how the game will be solved. But when i sat to down to code, I am facing problem how to approach it. As in , How to design the prototype functions like getNextMove or Max(Move) ? How will the next move searched? Till when should i apply the minimax algorithm. I know i can find the code online, but i want to do it myself. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

  I have this string that shall come in from another file. The string has maximum length of 102 digits. I need to compare the string with numbers in a pair and delete those form that string. e.g - 6125223659587412563265... till 102 numbers that compare with this string- first set - 61 new string = 25223659587412563265 second set - 36 new string = 252259587412563265 and so on. the set of numbers shall go to maximum of 51 pairs = 102, which shall give an end result of string = "" How can i achieve this in a loop?

• Strange behavior in DockPanel

  I don't understand, I have a toolbar with buttons bind to custom commands. Also I have an expandable control docked to the left of window - kinda NavPanel. (Devcomponents' NavigationPane to be exact) Now, everytime when it's collapsed or expanded, buttons in the toolbar become disabled and stay like that till the focus changes. Of course, it's simple to change the focus inside Collapsed and Expanded events, but unfortunately it works only in the first and ignores the second one and all buttons stay disabled. It seems that it something to do with CommandTarget which I haven't define nowhere. Maybe I should? Any ideas?

  Hi, I am working on Joomla 1.5 and our site is using the Bluehost server.Till March 9th, 2010 our site was working perfectly.And on March 10th,2010 , the following error was shown in the site as Warning: Unexpected character in input: '' (ASCII=28) state=1 in /home1/tcscoinc/public_html/tcsrnd/administrator/components/com_jaclplus/jac lplus.class.php on line 73 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home1/tcscoinc/public_html/tcsrnd/administrator/components/com_jaclplus/jac lplus.class.php on line 73 For time being, i have just renamed the file jaclplus.class.php to make the site to function. As we are using Jaclplus component and we have purchased the Jaclplus component from Byos Tech , i have checked in the membership details.And we found that our Membership has been expired on 03/10/2010 . I have asked them but they had replied that it may not be a problem on membership. Please anyone share what can be the reason for the error.I am not able to open that file(jaclplus.class.php) since its a binary file.

• How to create simple animations in 3gp format?

  I am trying to create a simple animation which includes face of a famous character. For example Santa Clause. The face and the lips of the character will act according to the given input message. For example if a string is inputed then the lips of the character will be opened and closed till the end of the string while the given input message is vocalized using a text to speech converter. Moreover if the " :) " is used the character in the animation will smile. How could I do this? I was told that I can create this type of animations using "smill". But this is not convenient for the other purposes therefore I need to use a different method. Could you give me any suggestions? Thanks in advence.

• how 2 use logmath twice in same form(sphinx4)

• Will be self-taught limit me?

  I'm 21 and am pretty efficient in html/css, python, and javascript. I also know my way around lisp languages and enjoy programing in them. My problem is that I'm extremely self-taught and not quite confident that I could land a job programing, but I really need a job soon as I've just become a father. I haven't even created a resume yet because I'm not really sure what to put on it except my lone experience. So I wanted to ask, will being primarily self-taught with some experience on small projects I've done for a few clients limit me too much? I mean I know I need some kind of education so I've enrolled part time in a community college to work on a degree in computer science, but it's years till then. And if it will limit me a lot, what kind of skills would be good to work on to make my chances any better? Thank You

• weird characters displayed during serial communication OSX

  I have tried communicating via serial (OSX w/ prolific drivers - USB RS232 adapter - Tx,Rx and GND pins on device serial ttl port) to a device and done so successfully using screen /dev/tty.usbserial 115200 8N1 I get to log in and use it as if I was SSH or TelNetted in... However whenever I try to go into system recovery mode (holding CTRL+1) while the device is powering on, it starts displaying weird characters and until I close the screen session it will continue showing weird characters: Of course when we tried doing the same thing on my boss' macbook running windows and PuTTY and everything worked fine, even in system recovery mode; characters were displayed properly. What gives? Id like to learn the intuition to use because up till now I concluded that since I can bot into the system and see characters normally everything about the connection should be fine and its must have been the recovery partition that was broken. • Problems with WiX and Visual Studio web deployment project

  Hello, I want to create an .MSI package from a web deployment project in Visual Studio 2008. Now we want to use continuous integration and we would need the .MSI package build in the nightly builds. Till now we used standard Visual Studio Web Setup project, but this is not compatible with the MSBuild. So we decided to use WiX. The problem is that I have not found any good tutorial/documentation about this. Is there a way to do a WiX installer package from a web deployment project? If yes, how? Also, I tried to use heat.exe to create the XML for the WiX project .wxs file, but it seems that heat.exe doesn't recognize the web deployment project format. Thank you for your responses. • How to cache queries in Rails across multiple requests

  I want to cache query results so that the same results are fetched "for more than one request" till i invalidate the cache. For instance, I want to render a sidebar which has all the pages of a book, much like the index of a book. As i want to show it on every page of the book, I have to load it on every request. I can cache the rendered sidebar index using action caching, but i also want to actually cache the the query results which are used to generate the html for the sidebar. Does Rails provide a way to do it? How can i do it?

• Timeline graph - how to handle "time gaps"?

  I've been working with Google chart API and annotated timeline. Drawing graphs is fine. I have no problem. However, I need to draw a timeline graph for share prices. And as you may know, share prices are meaningful only between certain times (e.g. from 10AM to 4PM, when the market opens and closes). How do I change the Google timeline graph so that on X-Axis, the range is from 10AM-4PM? Right now, it just draws a long constant line between 4PM till 10AM next day before prices start to move again. Man, I hope that makes sens. (Google finance chart seems to do it). If I specify Cache-Control "max-age=3600, must-revalidate" for a static html/js/images/css file, with Last Modified Header defined in HTTP header, a. Does browser/proxy cache(liek Squid/Akamai) go all the way to orgin server to validate before max-age expires? Or will it serve content from cache till max-age expires? b. After max-age expiry(that is expiry from cache), is there a IMS check or is content re-downloaded from origin server w/o IMS check?

• UITableView's cellForRowAtIndexPath is not getting called after low memory warning

  I am new to COCOA and Objective C. I am working on an application which have two controllers with one table view in each, clicking an item form this table will lead to another controller to be pushed to the stack. All was working fine till i started handling low memory warning in app delegate. What i am doing in app delegate's applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning is, deleting all of my model and popping out all controllers to its root view using popToRootViewControllerAnimated. Now my problem starts, once low mem warning is received table's cellForRowAtIndexPath is not getting called. All other methods of UITableViewDataSource is properly called. What i get on screen is a blank white screen. I am testing my app in iPhone OS 3.0 and development is done in Xcode V 3.1.3. Hope you guys can help me to nail this. Thanks in advance, Jinesh.

• visualize irregular data in vtk

  I have an irregular data, x dimension - 384, y dimension - 256 and z dimension 64. Now these coordinates are stored in 3 separate binary files and i have a data file having a data value for these points. I want to know, how can i represent such data to be easily visualized in vtk. Till now we were using AVS which has fld files, which can read such data easily. I dont know how to do it in vtk. Would appreciate any pointers in this direction.

  Hi, It is mentioned in the Apple's documentation that if we use UISPlitViewController in our app, then that should be the root view controller. In our iPone app we are showing splash screen for some seconds till the loading of the app finishes. Once it is loaded the home screen needs to be displayed in a SplitViewController. If we use SplitViewController as the root view. How will we show the splash screen which is displayed in a single view where as SplitVieController displays two ViewControllers. Please explain me the how this can be done.

• Gravity Sort : Is this possible programatically?

  Hi, I've been thinking recently on using the Object Oriented design in the sorting algorithm. However I was not able to find a proper way to even come closer in making this sorting algorithm that does the sorting in O(n) time. Ok, here is what I've been thinking for a week. I have a set of input data. I will assign a mass to each of the input data (assume input data a type of Mass). I will be placing all my input data in the space all at same distance from earth. And I will make them free fall. According to gravitational law, the heaviest one hits the ground first. And the order in which they hit will give me the sorted data. This is funny in some way, but underneath I feel that this should be possible using the OO that I have learnt till date Is it really possible to make a sorting technique that uses gravitational pull like scenario or am I stupid/crazy?

  I've got a bunch of binary files, each containing an embedded string near the end of the file but at different places (only occurs once in each file). I need to extract the part of the file starting at the location of the string till the end of the file and dump it into a new file. eg. If the file's contents is "AWREDEDEDEXXXERESSDSDS" and the string of interest is "XXX", then the part of the file I need is "XXXERESSDSDS". What's the easiest way to do this in bash?

• Dynamically pixelate an html image element

  I'm to take an image on a webpage, and then use javascript (or whatever would be best suited) to dynamically 'pixelate' it (e.g. into 20px squares). Then, as the user scrolls down the page, I need the image to gradually increase in resolution, till it is no longer pixelated. Any ideas how I could go about doing this? I realise I could use php to resize an image and several times and just switch out the image, but that would require loading several extra images. Also, I know I could probably do the effect with flash & pixelbender, but I want to achieve it within the limitations of HTML5, CSS & Javascript if possible. Appreciate any thoughts!

• Play a beep that loop and change the frequency/speed

  Hi all, I am creating an iphone application that use audio. I want to play a beep sound that loop indefinitely. I found an easy way to do that using the upper layer AVAudioPlayer and the numberOfLoops set to "-1". It works fine. But now I want to play this audio and be able to change the rate / speed. It may works like the sound played by a car when approaching an obstacle. At the beginning the beep has a low frequency and this frequency accelerate till reaching a continuous sound biiiiiiiiiiiip ... It seems this is not feasible using the high layer AVAudioPlayer, but even looking at AudioToolBox I found no solution. Does anybody have informations about how to do that? • Opening two connections to my Apache server?

But If I have a script that runs for a long time, and I try to open another page to the same server, the second page waits till my first page finishes. This behavior happens to me on Linux and PC. • How to run unit tests with DSSS and GDC?

  I am very new to D and still battling trying to configure my toolchain. I am running Ubuntu Karmic and would like to use DSSS with GDC and Tango or TangoBos. Till now, I installed GDC from Ubuntu repositories, DSSS, Tango and TangoBos from these repositories and I can compile using dsss + gdc + tangobos. According to DSSS documentation, it should be possible to run the unit tests using $ dsss build --test but on my system, the --test argument is ignored. I have dsss last version (0.78) and its inline help does not include anything about unit tests. Running ldc --unittest works fine (though I do not know exactly which libray it picks up). Is there a way to run my unit tests using the same compiler & library than for compilation? If so, is there a way to automate the testing or will I have to run it module per module?
