  • Strange jboss console error

    Hello everyone, I'm creating additional module to already multi-module maven project. And for this one I want everything to be like in other modules(meaning dependencies) just to test hello world, then I'll go do some more complex stuff. And it does print hello world as it should when deployed onto jboss server, but I get some strange error on console, had anyone had similar experience? and how can I fix it?   • "port forwarding": redirect calls to webservice at port 8081 to port 80

    Hi, a colleague of mine wrote a webservice that runs on port 8081 of our Windows 2008 Server. He uses the class ServiceHost, afaik this means its a standalone host (no IIS or ASP involvement). Note: I'm new into WCF ;) Now there are some issues with clients behind a firewall blocking the requests to remote port 8081 of our server (where the webservice runs). The easiest solution would be: run the webservice host at port 80 ... But: there is also a Apache 2.2 webserver running on the Windows Server, hosting some websites. By default it runs on port 80. My solution after some researching: use a virtual host to route requests to a virtual host (lets say http://webservice.[hostname]:80) to the webservice host (http://[hostname]:8081). Is this a good idea? Can Apache handle forwards to standalone webservice hosts? It would be nice if someone could lead me on to the right track :) Best regards, Niels

  • Myfaces extensionfilter overriding renderkit? (Tree2 component)

    I've pulled in the tree2 component (from Tomahawk 1.1.9). Had used the simpler Tree component on previous projects, and this one just looks a bit nicer. Running on websphere 6.1.x and set the server side flag that's needed (com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.invokefilterscompatibility=true) and set the extensionfilter accordingly. Everything's good, and works as expected. Here's the issue: - on a page being included on this one (just some typical footer type info with NO myfaces widgets), there's some embedded html that's getting flagged with warnings in the systemout console). These look like org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 475. Surroundings: 'span id="tile:footr:viewFragm'. org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 479. Surroundings: 'a id="tile:footr:viewFragment'. org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 492. Surroundings: 'a id="tile:footr:viewFragment'. The problem isn't necessarily with the html (which should be cleaned up regardless :-). IF I don't include myfaces, I don't get these warning messages with the default ibm jsf renderer (using jsf 1.1 still). Obviously, IBM's implementation is a bit more lax than myFaces. The page has nothing to do with myfaces at all. The reason for needing the extension filter is that it needs (for the Tree2 anyways, I know it does more for file upload) to intercept requests and then stick some .js includes on the page. Investigated this a bit, and I've included this filter in my web.xml, but it is NO longer fronting the faces servlet. So, the filter is instantiated at startup, but is never executed. Since the filter isn't in place, I've had to hard code in the includes for the 2 .js files into my page Now, the tree2 gets rendered properly, AND I'm not getting the warnings from above, because with the extentionfilter not being called, its using the IBM renderkit ;-) I'm a bit concerned that when the extension filter is in place, everything is being rendered by myFaces, rather than IBM's renderkit (i.e. All I want is myfaces/tomahawk to render the tree2 only, and let the ri do everything else) Can anyone confirm this? When you use myfaces/tomahawk, is it doing all the rendering for the whole application, or just the page any tomahawk widget is on? Thanks for any thoughts on this mike

The first response will have NMSReplyTo properties while the other not.   • Django URL resolving infrastructure stops working

    We recently launched a new Django-powered website, and we are experiencing the oddest bug: The site is running under Apache with mod_fastcgi. Everything works fine for a while, and then the URL tag and reverse() functionality stops working. Instead of returning the expected URL, they return "". We haven't noticed anything in Apache's log file; there are no errors being generated by Django. And (the kicker) the problem only occurs in production mode; we can't reproduce it when DEBUG=True. Any thoughts on where we should be looking for the problem?

    I would like to log all requests/responses made by an axis2 client. I tried to create a file called client-config.wsdd as describer in http://code.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=15137 but without success (I don't get a log file). Requests are made over https and I am not sure if it matters. I tried <transport name="http" pivot="java:org.apache.axis.transport.http.HTTPSender"/> and <transport name="https" pivot="java:org.apache.axis.transport.http.HTTPSender"/> without success.

    SLOVED see commend I develop am webservice based on apache tomcat 6.0.26, apache cxf 2.2.7, spring 3.0, hibernate 3.3 and sybase sqlanywhere 11. im using the latest JDBC Driver from SYBASE jconn.jar Version 6. The persistence layer is based on spring + hibernate dao, the connection is configured via a JNDI datasoure (META-INF directory). It seems that, during longer times of inactivity, the connection from the webservice to the database is closed. Exception: java.sql.SQLException: JZ0C0: Connection is already closed.     I'm used to setting up CF9 (Dev edition) on my Windows using Apache. I would like to try using IIS7 that comes with Win7 Pro. What are the steps to set it up so that I can have: www.siteA.dev www.siteB.dev Both of these point to 127.0.0.1 via windows host file. I would like siteA.dev & siteB.dev to use 2 different CF instances. I already installed CF9 dev edition with 2nd option. What should I do next? Do I need to use IIS manager? Or the CF's Web Server Config tool is all I need? Where to enter the data to IIS like vhost in Apache? Thank you

    Hello all, I am having problems with the PHP function unlink. I keep getting this error: Warning: unlink(C:\wamp\www\webs\db\db_1276259188.mdb) [function.unlink]: Permission denied in C:\wamp\www\webs\pure-php-export.php on line 242 I am on a windows machine where Apache runs as the user SYSTEM. I have set the permissions of the db folder as "Full Control" for Apache's user. I thought my script might still be holding on to that file (its an uploaded file that gets used via PDO). try{ $dbh = new PDO("odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)};Dbq=$mdbFilename", $username, $password); }catch(PDOException $e){ echo $e->getMessage(); } So before I attempt to delete the file I unset the above and try to delete like so: $dbh = null; unset($dbh); if(is_file($mdbFilename)){ unlink($mdbFilename); } I really appreciate any help on this as it has been driving me mental for the past two hours!     I've got several Web apps running on a Tomcat 5.5 server, and I'm working on improving/updating the overall logging system used throughout the system. I already had some success with logback-classic. However, when I try to use logback-access (i.e. access the lbAccessStatus servlet), I get this exception: exception javax.servlet.ServletException: Wrapper cannot find servlet class ch.qos.logback.access.ViewStatusMessagesServlet or a class it depends on org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:433) ... root cause java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ch.qos.logback.access.ViewStatusMessagesServlet org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1386) ... I have everything set up according to the docs: common/lib: logback-classic-0.9.15.jar logback-core-0.9.15.jar server/lib: logback-access-0.9.15.jar Moving around the libraries doesn't seem to help. logback-classic seems to work fine, it's just logback-access that causes problems.

  • Getting IIS6 to play nice with WordPress Pretty Permalinks

    I've got a WordPress powered blog that I'm trying to get setup on our IIS6 server and everything works besides the permalink structure which I'm having a big headache with. After googling around/wordpress codex I learned that it's because IIS6 doesn't have the equivalent of Apache's mod_rewrite which is required for this feature to work. So that's where I'm at now. I can't seem to find a functional solution to get the pretty permalinks to work without the "index.php/," anyone have any recommendations? What I can't do: Upgrade to IIS7 Switch to Apache Quit my job Those suggestions have been offered to me, which sadly, I can't do any of those. Just an, FYI. Much thanks for anyone who can lead me in the right direction.

  • Tomcat gzip while chunked issue

    I'm expiriencing some problem with one of my data source services. As it says in HTTP response headers it's running on Apache-Coyote/1.1. Server gives responses with Transfer-Encoding: chunked, here sample response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type: text/xml;charset=utf-8 Transfer-Encoding: chunked Content-Encoding: gzip Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2010 06:13:52 GMT And problem is when I'm requesting server to send gzipped request it often sends not full response. I recieve response, see that last chunk recieved, but then after ungzipping I see that response is partial. I never seen such behavior with gzip turned off in request headers. So my question is: is it common tomcat issue? maybe one of it's mod which is doing compression? Or maybe it maybe some kind of proxy issue? I can't tell about versions of tomcat or what gzip mod they use, but feel free to ask, i'll try ask my service provider. Thanks.

  • Using Linux vs Windows for development

    On my servers I run everything on Linux/ Apache, but for offline preparation before upload of the projects I'm using Windows (Vista) with a local Apache/ WAMP, PHP, Python, GD_image installation and so on. My question, would it be much easier in terms of setting up a good environment if I were to use Linux, e.g. Ubuntu distribution, as development OS for these things? Would you know some pros and cons when it comes to Windows vs Linux in terms of web development? (As I'm using mostly web apps these days, switching the OS might be less of a problem. I would need a good replacement for my image editor, though, as I prefer Corel PhotoPaint and PSP4 over Gimp, last time I tried.)

    I have a web app running LAMP. We recently have an increase in load and is now looking at solutions to scale. Scaling apache is pretty easy we are just going to have multiple multiple machines hosting it and round robin the incoming traffic. However, each instance of apache will talk with MySQL and eventually MySQL will be overloaded. How to scale MySQL across multiple machines in this setup? I have already looked at this but specifically we need the updates from the DB available immediately so I don't think replication is a good strategy here? Also hopefully this can be done with minimal code change. PS. We have around a 1:1 read-write ratio.

  • Combining deflate and minify - am i creating overhead?

    I minify my css and js files on the fly with google.codes minify. I have also set my .htaccess to use deflate on all my css and js files - the reason beeing some js files (like shadowbox and tinymce) reference to other js files in the code. So i'm compressing with apache deflate and also minify compresses some js and css files with gzip - am i creating overhead by doing this - first gzipping (minify) and then zlib (deflate) will run through again. Or will apache deflate ignore the already gzipped files having the attributes set by minify in the headers. Anyone have any experiences with this?
