• Problem getting value from "Checkbox group value prompt"

  Hi, I've value prompt with ui:checkbox group parameter: p_IsLastMonth Name: Prompt_IsLastMonth ItemCount: 1; UseValue:Yes, DisplayValue: LastMonth? and two Date Prompts. Whenever the checkbox is checked, the UseValue 'Yes' is passed to the parameter 'p_IsLastMonth'. But whenever the checkbox is left as it is, it results in an error. Element 'selectOptions' is not valid for content model: 'All(style,defaultSelections,conditionalStyles,conditionalRender,XMLAttributes)' I also tried giving a default value. But the default value has to be in the collection. But i want only one checkbox to be displayed. I tried with html checkbox. But i'm not able to send the value 'either yes or no' to the parameter through javascript because however the finish button overrides the value. Any help?

• How does an interpreter switch scope?

  I'm asking this because I'm relatively new to interpreter development and I wanted to know some basic concepts before reinventing the wheel. I thought of the values of all variables stored in an array which makes the current scope, upon entering a function the array is swapped and the original array put on some sort of stack. When leaving the function the top element of the "scope stack" is popped of and used again. Is this basically right? Isn't swapping arrays (which means moving around a lot of data) not very slow and therefore not used by modern interpreters?

• How do I access a DIV from javascript when using a master page?

  I have a web page that contains a "div" element. On the page, there is javascript to reference the div: document.getElementById('divId'). This was working fine until another developer redesigned the page to use an ASP master page. Now, document.getElementById('divId') returns null. It appears that ASP.net prepends some characters to the names of elements within contents forms when you use a master page. How can I know what the id of the div is when the page loads? Update Allow me to give a specific example to clarify the question: My page had a div with ID divNotice. After changing my page to use a master page, I see when I print the source to the page that renders that the div ID is ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_divNotice. My question is, how am I supposed to know what the div ID is going to be when the framework is done with it?

• Trouble with Canvas rendering in Safari/Opera

  Been banging my head against this one for a while, and figured I'd turn to the experts for some advice. I've made a jQuery snippet that grabs the values from a table and plots them in a line graph on a canvas element (also generated by the JS). All's well in Firefox and Chrome, but Safari and Opera aren't displaying the plotted points. I've reviewed in Firebug, Web Inspector debugger, JSLint, and checked the markup with the w3 validator, but still can't find anything glaringly obvious. Any chance one of you guys could help me out? • determine which value produced a hit in SOLR multivalued field type

  If I have a multiValued field type of text, and I put values [cat,dog,green,blue] in it. Is there a way to tell when I execute a query against that field for dog, that it was in the 1st element position for that multiValued field? Assumption: client does not have any pre-knowledge of what the field type of the field being queried is. (i.e. Solr must provide the answer and the client can't post process the return doc to figure it out because it would not know how SOLR matched the query to the result). Disclosure: I posted to solr-user list and am getting no traction so I post here now.

• Grab triangles within a lower triangle

  I have the need to grab all the thee element triangles that make up the lower triangle of a symmetric matrix. I can not think of how to grab all these pieces in the order of far left column working down and then next column to the right and so on. I know that the numbe rof mini triangles inside of the lower triangle is: n = x(x - 1)/2 where: x = nrow(mats[[i]]) Here I've created three matrices with letters (it's easier for me to conceptualize this way) and the elements in the order I'm looking for: FUN <- function(n) { matrix(LETTERS[1:(n*n)], n) } mats <- lapply(3:5, FUN) So this is the output I'd like to get (I put it in code rather than output format) for each of the matrices created above: list(c("B", "C", "F")) list(c("B", "C", "G"), c("C", "D", "H"), c("G", "H", "L")) list(c("B", "C", "H"), c("C", "D", "I"), c("D", "E", "J"), c("H", "I", "N"), c("I", "J", "O"), c("N", "O", "T")) How can I do this task in the fastest manner possible while staying in base R? • How to access parent window variables from object

  I've got an XHTML 1.1 Strict document that is loading another XHTML 1.1 document in an <object> element (as <iframe> isn't part of the XHTML 1.1 spec). I'm having trouble in IE8 (don't care about 6 or 7) with accessing a javascript variable, Lightbox, in the parent window, from the document loaded in the <object>. In Firefox and everywhere I've seen online, I can just use window.parent.Lightbox. In IE8 however, I get it being undefined. window.parent does give me an object but it doesn't have my Lightbox variable. I've also tried window.Lightbox, window.top.Lightbox, and window.top.document.Lightbox, but all return undefined. I should mention I'm using Javascript to set the data property of the <object> - but I don't see how that could affect anything relevant. What Javascript Fu do I need to do to be able to access my Lightbox variable?

• drupal: so many js and css files ?

  hi, I've realized I'm loading a lot of resources (24 css and 17 js files) using Drupal. I've several modules installed and they all come with a css and js file. For my website I'm only using 1 additional js plugin (all the other 16 come with Drupal modules). I've not installed useless modules. They are all necessary, and they require js such as swfobject, ajax_views, jquery.media, spamspan, lightbox (modal, video and default js files), etc Same thing with css files: ckeditor, filefield, lightbox, tagadelic, uploadfield, fieldgroup, vews, taxonomy_super_select, html-element, tabs, messages... etc For my website, I only use my theme css zen.css of course. So.. is this normal ? Or I should remove all this stuff? Are drupal websites normally heavy ? thanks

  Hello, I am trying to set up security within a web.config file for a WCF service hosted in IIS but keep getting the error message: Security settings for this service require 'Anonymous' Authentication but it is not enabled for the IIS application that hosts this service. I have read Nicholas Allen’s blog (link text) and it appears that this is the route that I need to take. However, I am using “binaryMessageEncoding” in a customBinding for my Silverlight service, and as such, I’m not sure how to apply this type of security to such an element. This is how my custom binding looks in config at present: <customBinding> <binding name="silverlightBinaryBinding"> <binaryMessageEncoding /> <httpTransport /> </binding> </customBinding> Has anyone had any experience getting Windows authentication to work with a custom binding using binaryMessageEncoding? • Is there a browser-agnostic way to detect client-side script errors with Watin?

  We're using WatiN to test our web portals. During the course of an E2E test, we'll occasionally see client-side script errors on the IE status bar. I'd like to chain a handler onto the script error event and record the error for later analysis and bug filing. Problem is, I don't know that there's a global script error event or how to chain into it. And if there's not a browser-agnostic way to accomplish this, I can create MyIE and MyFF subclasses but then this becomes two browser-specific questions. In essence, I'm thinking of something like this entirely made-up call: browser.ScriptEngine.SetCustomErrorHandler(LogScriptingError); ... where LogScriptErrors is my code that does the obvious. Many of our client-side scripting errors don't necessarily prevent the test from continuing (a pretty UI element didn't animate, for example, but the underlying form is still submittable), so I'd like to log the error and forge ahead in most cases.

• Switching layouts page jumping (improvement to script)

  Hello, I'm using this script to switch layouts in a page: $("span.switcher").click(function () { $("span.switcher").toggleClass("swap"); /*!*/ $("ol.search-results").fadeOut("fast", function() { $(this).fadeIn("fast").toggleClass("grid"); }); The script works fine, the problem I have is that if the switch view is down the page, the layout changes and then the page jumps back up. If I add 'return false' right where you see the /* ! */ in the second line the script doesn't work. Also, as you can see, I'm using < span instead of < a since I was told that using other element other than < a would stop the page from jumping. Any idea how to fix the jumping of the page? Thanks.

• Tooltip equivalent for touch devices?

  Hey folks, Touch devices are on the rise. More and more website developers try to optimize their pages for those devices. Until recently the most common solution was to build a mobile version for the website. But with tablets this will most likely change to adjusting the original pages to be touch compatible. One big issue I encountered are tooltips. There are some websites and web applications relying heavily on storing important informations in some kind of tooltip triggered by hovering the mouse arrow over some interface element - which does not exist on touch devices. So what do you think is a good universal way to adopt these pages without redesigning the site from scratch? Does this universal way even exist? My first idea was a tiny touchable question mark but this would hardly be big enough for a finger.

• Preventing Race Conditions

  I'm using the built-in ajax functionality of MVC2. Basically the user types a search query, and on every key press a set of results for the query is shown. This works fine in almost all cases, but sometimes the server is a bit slow with a single response, and thus the result for the next key stroke is returned before the previous. When the previous key stroke result set is finally returned to the client it will overwrite the results for the newer search query that should actually have been shown. My code follows more or less along these lines: <% using (Ajax.BeginForm("SearchUser", null, new AjaxOptions() { UpdateTargetId = "findUserResults" }, new { id = "findUserAjaxForm" })) {%> Every keystroke submits this form and thus outputs the results in the 'findUserResults' element. How can I prevent older results from being displayed while still making use of the built-in functions provided in MVC2?

  Hi, I have the following code in my application: $(".deleteproduct").click(function() { id = this.id; alert("id: " + id); }); If i run my site nothing happens when I click on an element with the class deleteproduct. But when I place breakpoints before line 1,2 and 3 it works like a charm. The elements with class deleteproduct are loaded through AJAX call right behind $(document).ready(function(). The .click code is underneath it. This seems really weird to me. It's working if breakpoints in Firebug are used, but not when there are not...

  Hi, I am having a little issue this piece of code in my Xsl. <xsl:if test="ShippingName != ''"> <tr> <td colspan="6" style="border:none;" align="right"> <strong>Shipping Via</strong> </td> <td align="right"> <xsl:value-of select="ShippingName" /> </td> </tr> </xsl:if> It passes the test condition (ShippingName != '') and assigns the style to 'td' but at the point where I am displaying the value that this element contains (), it displays nothing. • How can I bind dynamic data to DataGridTemplateColumn in code?

  I'm using DataGrid from CodePlex. I have objects (ICustomTypeDescriptor) that have properties 'name' 'description' 'c' 'd' and so on (the names are dynamic, and so is the value) and they have information behind them. I have templates for different types. And if I have to list the properties of a single element I can just bind to the values in xaml and use datatemplateselector (in datagridtemplatecolumn) which will pick the correct template. However, when I'm listing several of the elements, how can I use the selectors and the templates? How do I get the correct property bound to the template (two-way)?   phpQuery is a really nice tool which has helped me tremendously in the past parse well-formed XHTML and XML documents, but I have recently run into a problem trying to select elements that have colons in their tagname, such as the following: <isc:thumb><![CDATA[http://example.com/foo_thumb.jpg]]></isc:thumb> I've tried to use the pq() function to select all of these elements: foreach ( pq("isc:thumb") as $thumbnail ) { print pq( $thumbnail )->text(); } Unfortunately this is doing nothing. • How to prevent button/movieclip from interfering with mouse events

  I have a few swf's that are loaded into a base file using levels. These clips can be cycled through by means of a setInterval function or when the user clicks the next or previous button. However, when the user hovers over a defined 'hit' area which is ultimately a blank movie clip, the setTimeout call is then canceled. This works fine, except that now the 'hit' clip - being above everything - prevents the movies below accepting hit states, and if I move it to below everything else, when one mouses over any element in the loaded movie, it then acts as though the user has mouse out of the hit area. Is there any way to have this 'hit' clip do its job simply by determining if the mouse is over it, but without using an onRollOver function or equivalent? Much appreciated

  I am trying to create a NSMutableArray by reading in a .txt file and am having trouble setting the last element of the array to nil. NSString *filePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"namelist" ofType:@"txt"]; NSString *data = [NSString stringWithContentsOfFile:filePath encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:nil]; NSArray *list = [data componentsSeparatedByString:@"\n"]; NSMutableArray *mutableList = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithArray:list]; I wanted to use NSMutableArray's function addObject, but that will not allow me to add nil. I also tried: [mutableList addObject:[NSNull null]]; but that does not seem to work either. Is there a way around this problem?
