  • WPF RadioButton selected in UI, but seen by code as IsChecked == false

    I have some radio buttons in a group box. I select the buttons randomly, and all works perfectly from a visual standpoint and also the event handler is called each time a new button is selected. Now I have a dependency property with a callback when the value changes. When in this callback procedure I read the IsChecked value of any button, the value is False, in spite the button is visually selected (they are all false at the same time, strange). The debugger also displays all buttons unchecked.   • How to add a Page to Frame using code in WPF

    I have a Window where I have put a Frame. I would like to add a Page to the Frame when I click a button that is also on the Window but not in the Frame. There are several buttons in the Window and each click on a button should load a different Page in the Frame. Since I'm a total newbie on this WPF stuff it's quite possible that this approach is not the best and I have thought about replacing the Frame with a Canvas and then make UserControls instead of Pages that will be added to the Canvas. I welcome any ideas and suggestions on how to best solve this. I aiming for a functionality that is similar to the application Billy Hollis demonstrated in dnrtv episode 115. (http://dnrtv.com/default.aspx?showID=115).

  • How can I automatically generate sql update scripts when some data is updated ?

    I'd like to automatically generate an update script each time a value is modified in my database. In other words, if a stored procedure, or a query, or whatever updates column a with value b in table c (which as a pk column (i,j...k), I want to generate this : update c set a=b where i=... and j=... and k=... and store it somewhere (for example as a raw string in a table). To complicate things, I want the script to be generated only if the update has been made by a specific user. Good news is that I've got a primary key defined for all my tables. I can see how to do this using a trigger, but I would need to generate specific triggers for each table, and to update them each and every-time my schema changes. I guess there are some built-in ways to do this as SQL server sometimes need to store this kind of things (while using transactional replication for example), but couldn't find anything so far ... any ideas ? I'm also interested in ways to automatically generate triggers (probably using triggers - meta triggers, huh? - since I will need to update triggers automatically when the schema change)

    I just found out, that it seems a common pattern to user UpperFirstLetterPascalCase() for private methods. I for myself, find this completely inconsistent with naming rules of private instance fields and variables and I find it difficult to read/debug, too. I would want to ask, why using a first upper letter for methods could be a better choice than a first lower (doThis())? Just out of curiosity...

    I have been trying to write a regex that will remove whitespace following a semicolon (';') when it is between both an open and close curly brace ('{','}'). I've gotten somewhere but haven't been able to pull it off. I'd like to organise the files into folders within the web form folder, but I can't find a way of adding a reference to the folders, and they don't seem to be being picked up automatically. Imagine you choosing your database, or your entity beans, and the modeling would reverse engineer your database/entity model, so that you could visually just choose the columns you wanted to select, and it would generate jpa or sql queries for you. For instance choosing A.b and X.y would generate something like this: select a.b, x.y from A a, X x join ......

  • Calling DI Container directly in method code (MVC Actions)

    I'm playing with DI (using Unity). I've learned how to do Constructor and Property injection. I have a static container exposed through a property in my Global.asax file (MvcApplication class). I have a need for a number of different objects in my Controller. It doesn't seem right to inject these throught the constructor, partly because of the high quantity of them, and partly because they are only needed in some Actions methods. The question is, is there anything wrong with just calling my container directly from within the Action methods? public ActionResult Foo() { IBar bar = (Bar)MvcApplication.Container.Resolve(IBar); // ... Bar uses a default constructor, I'm not actually doing any // injection here, I'm just telling my conatiner to give me Bar // when I ask for IBar so I can hide the existence of the concrete // Bar from my Controller. } This seems the simplest and most efficient way of doing things, but I've never seen an example used in this way. Is there anything wrong with this? Am I missing the concept in some way?
