    Hi, Does anyone know of a solid C# library / approach to manage a hierarchy/web type collection? This would be a library that would basic consist of the concept of nodes & relationships, for example to model web pages/files linked under a URL, or modeling IT infrastructure. It would have key methods such as: Node.GetDirectParents() Node.GetRootParents() Node.GetDirectChildren() Node.GetAllChildren() So it's smarts would include the ability to "walk the tree" of nodes based on the relationships when someone does ask for "give me all the children under this node" for example. It ideally include a persistence layer, to save/retrieve such data to/from a databases (e.g. with a Nodes and Relationships table). Thanks

    Hello, I have a UserMailer View that has several link_to's like so: <%= link_to('XXXXXXXX Link Title', item_url(@item, :only_path => false), :style => 'color:#5196E3;text-decoration:underline;') %> The page has several different links. I'd like to know if there is a way to globally set in the view to enable or disable the links. If enabled, the above would run like normal, if not the block above would just show the text (XXXXXXXX Link Title) and not be linked? Any ideas other than wrapping every link_to inside a IF statement? Thanks

  • DOM - More than 5 'window' objects on one page

    Hi, I'm trying to extract data from one of my websites using Greasemonkey. Problem is, the script runs 6 times because apparently the page loads content from 6 different servers. So if I put in an alert ("Hey"); the code runs 6 times and I get 6 alerts. How can I wait for the entire page to load and then start playing with the DOM. Also, I'm using jQuery. Thanks

  • Importing ctype; embedding python in C++ application

    I'm trying to embed python within a C++ based programming language (CCL: The compuatational control language, not that any of you have heard of it). Thus, I don't really have a "main" function to make calls from. I have made a test .cc program with a main, and when I compile it and run it, I am able to import my own python modules and system modules for use. When I embed my code in my CCL-based program and compile it (with g++), it seems I have most functionality, but I get the import error: ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.6/lib-dynload/_ctypes.so: undefined symbol: PyType_GenericNew Can someone explain this to me and how to go about solving it? It seems like I've linked the objects correctly. Thanks.

  • Scrum for Team System 2010 - How to use story points instead of Hours

    I have installed TFS 2010 using the Scrum for Team System v3. The work item templates want you to enter a Project Backlog Item that includes story points, then you need to add linked tasks as a child of the PBI. It is at the task level where you can assign team individuals, update estimated hours left, etc. What is the importance of the Story Points used at the PBI item if individual tasks are using hours? Has anyone customized this template so that the child work item tasks use story point burn downs instead of hours? Also, I would be nice to have the total number of story points from each individual task roll up into the PBI item as a read only field for total story points. Thanks for your time.

  • querying databases on same server with linq

    In normal sql I could do joins on tables in different databases as long as they were on the same server (or linked servers). In linq I can't figure out how to do that. Is this possible? For example, if I have a database called db1 and another called db2. db1 has a table called people and db2 has a table called address I could do something like... select a.addressline1, p.firstname from db1.dbo.people p inner join db2.dbo.address a on p.peopleid = a.peopleid Is this possible with linq? I have a view that spans two instances of Microsoft SQL Server but before querying it in a stored procedure I would like to verify that the second instance of the server is up with a fallback option of just querying local data. The second instance is a linked server. Currently I'm considering a SQL CLR function that can attempt to open a connection with a shorter timeout but I'm wondering if it's something that can be done directly in Transact SQL.

    I am deriving from combobox (WinForms) and am providing a new implementation for the Selectedvalue property. It works fine as is, but any change to the selectedvalue property is not updating other controls bound to the same "binding context" to change their values accordingly. I did try adding the BindableAttribute(true) to the property, but still it does nottrigger the change in value to the other linked controls. The control's DataBindings.add(...) is all set up. And other controls are also bound to the same data filed on the same datasource. Any ideas what i am doing wrong.

A web application using XTemplate 0.2.4-2 (officially meant for 3.0.11) works fine on one server running PHP 5.2 but works incorrect (seems that the form can't be submitted or processed correctly) on new PHP 5.2 and 5.3 installations. What may I need to tweak on new servers to make them able to run legacy code?

    We are about to roll out a client server application build with java web start. Our main server is located in a country in Europe and we will have many users downloading our client the first day from all over the world. Since the client application is quite big in MB our wan will be utilized a lot. Is there a way to cache or pre- distribute java web start clients to servers "closer" to the user (for example a local server)? Thanks.

    Hi there, Chef from Opscode seems to be really useful for configuring servers and such, but trying to follow their documentation is a little difficult. Some terms are defined after they are used, and definitions sometimes reference new terms that you haven't yet encountered. Anyone know of any GOOD tutorials/walk-throughs for getting a good understanding of Chef, Chef-Server and Chef-Client? I remember seeing one video presentation online, but it barely scratched the surface.

    A question on basics : While tuning environment variables for a program launched from a script, I ended up with somewhat strange behaviour with sh (which seems to be actually linked to bash) : variable setting seems to mess up with command-line parameters. Could somebody explain why does this happen? A simple script: #! /bin/sh # Messes with $1 ?? set ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M export ANT_OPTS # Works # export ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M echo "0 = $0" echo "1 = $1" When I run this with the upper alternative (set + export), the result is as following: $ ./test.sh foo 0 = ./test.sh 1 = ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M But with lower alternative (export straight), the result is as I supposed: $ ./test.sh foo 0 = ./test.sh 1 = foo There is surely logical explanation, I just haven't figured it out yet.     Hello, I have a scientific application for which I want to input initial values at runtime. I have an option to get them from the command line, or to get them from an input file. Either of these options are input to a generic parser that uses strtod to return a linked list of initial values for each simulation run. I either use the command-line argument or getline() to read the values. The question is, should I be rolling my own parser, or should I be using a parser-generator or some library? What is the standard method? This is the only data I will read at runtime, and everything else is set at compile time (except for output files and a few other totally simple things). Thanks, Joel

    I have converted a php to asp.net mvc and have it hosted with the Rackspace cloud. All works great apart from some php links are still linked from other sites and within search engines. My question is what do I need to add to my web.config to force php sites to go through the .net engine? These links work as expected as I can catch the 404 and redirect where need be:- http://www.securahome.net/myjunk.info http://www.securahome.net/myjunk.phpp However this one doesn't:- http://www.securahome.net/myjunk.php I have spoken to Rackspace cloud and they say "its not possible as IIS doesn't recognize php files. You can setup mime types to handle them" This however makes no sense and I think they did not understand the problem. Does anyone have a solution?

I did the tutorial and it worked fine but i can't figure out why it my adaptation doesn't work !
