  • Create PDF from HTML page with formatting retained in PDF in ASP.Net

    I am trying to convert an HTML page to a PDF using iTextSharp.dll in ASP.Net. I am able to convert the contents to my PDF , but the problem is that the Formatting of HTML page (which is inline) get removed from my PDF created. For instance I have the following code block to be formatted from my HTML page to PDF. <table style="width:90%; float:left; background:#dddddd; padding:15px; border:1px solid #000; color:#000;"><tr><td style="text-transform:uppercase; font-size:14px;font-weight:bold;">SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR:</td></tr><tr><td style="padding-left:40px; font-size:12px; color:#4e4e4e;">Name: #CustomerName# <br /><br /><label> <b>Date: #CreatedOn# </b></label><br /> </td></tr> </table> I have to format my PDF with much more HTML codes like this.   • AJAX AutoCompletExtender doesn't allow to move ahead of first item with arrow-key

    Hi, I am using an AJAX AutoCompleteExtender to display a list of suburbs-postcodes after the user presses 3 keys in the given textbox. The problem is that on the page, I can't move my selection below the first item (with down arrow key/mouse).   • Any solution to IE8 bug rendering error when hiding elements?

    Bug: when hiding an element with JavaScript in IE8, the margin of still-visible other elements on the side is ignored. This bug has been introduced with IE8, since it works as expected in IE6+7 (and other browsers). <html> <head> <style> #a, #b, #c, #d {background: #ccf; padding: 4px; margin-bottom: 8px;} </style> </head> <body> <div id="a">a</div> <div id="b">b</div> <div id="c">c</div> <div id="d">d</div> <script> setTimeout(function () { document.getElementById("b").style.display = "none"; }, 1000); </script> </body> </html> When running this code, notice how a and c have a margin of 8 between them in normal browsers, but a margin of 0 in IE8. Remove the padding, and IE8 behaves like normal. Remove the timeout and IE8 behaves like normal. A border behaves the same way. I've been working with IE-bugs the last 10 years, but this has me stumped. The solution for now is to wrap the divs, and apply the margin to the outer element and other styles to the inner. But that's reminicent of horrible IE6-workarounds. Any better solutions?

  • Delphi fsstayontop oddity

    Here is the deal. Main form set to fsnormal. This main form is maximized full screen with a floating toolbar. Toolbar is normal form with style set to fsstayontop. Most fo the time this works as expected. The mainform displays and the toolbar floats over on top of it. Sometimes (this is a bugger to find a reproducable set of steps) when alt-tabbing to and from other apps (or when clicking the delphi app icon on the taskbar) the following symptoms can happen... When alt-tabbing away from the delphi app the floating topmost fsstayontop form stays on top of the other apps. So if I alt-tab to firefox then the floating menu stays on top of firefox too. When alt-tabbing from another app to the delphi app the flaoting menu is not visible (as it is behhind the fsnormal mainform). Is there a known bug or any hacks to force it to work? This also seems to happen most when mutliple copies of the app are running (they have no interaction between them and should be running in their own windows "sandbox"). It is as if delphi gets confused which window is meant to be on top and swaps them or changes the floating form to stayontopofeverything mode. Or have I misunderstood fsstayontop? I am assuming setting a form style to fsstayontop makes it stay on top of all other forms within the current app and not all windows across other running apps. Thanks for any tips or workarounds.

I also tried to remove width attribute from the div which contains 2nd background image, then get the windows size and add the difference to the container div as left attribute with Jquery. It worked fine in all IE versions but this time not on Chrome here is a print screen any ideas please?

    I have a registration form with checking the available name for username field through ajax. Inputing a username into username field and pushing the "Check!" button, the script sends value to php script. Then php script replaces the username field with the username field + style like this: <input type="text" name="login" value="'.$_GET["user"].'" style="width:205; height:22; border-width:1; border-color:red; border-style:solid; background-color:rgb(255,232,230);"> So when replacing the username field in the form with its equivalent from php script and then submitting a form, it is then get to script on the page that checks whether the username field is empty or not. And it returns an error that it is empty, though after checking through ajax the username field it has value. I don't understand why it gets to empty field checking script, having the same field name and having value?

    At work we're discussing upgrading our view layer for our web application. We're currently running an old and "modified" version of FreeMarker Classic, which is a pain to work with. One of our developers suggested using a Component UI style architecture similar to desktop style environments. Essentially, this would mean that you would build custom HTML components as Java Classes that the controller would render into the Document view. This would completely take away the need to write HTML into a view layer. The Components would generate the view layer for you. For instance, the following rendered HTML: <h1>I am a title</h1> <p>I am a paragraph.</p> Would be generated by doing something like: String titleString = "I am a title"; html.elements.Heading heading = new html.elements.Heading(Heading.H1, titleString); String paraString = "I am a paragraph."; html.elements.Paragraph paragraph = new html.elements.Paragraph(paraString); PrintWriter somePrintWriter = new PrintWriter(); Document document = new Document(); document.addElement(heading); document.addElement(paragraph); document.compose(somePrintWriter); The above code is just an example, don't critique the names or style, I just wrote it for a quick demonstration of what we may be trying to accomplish. I'm trying to determine if this has been done before in Java, and if so if there are any links I can be pointed to.   • Setting left/top position not working in IE

    Hello, In a custom ASP.NET AJAX control, i have this to do some repositioning. var dims = Sys.UI.DomElement.getBounds(control); this.get_element().style.position = "absolute"; //Sys.UI.DomElement.setLocation(this.get_element(), dims.x, (dims.y + dims.height)); this.get_element().style.left = dims.x; this.get_element().style.top = (dims.y + dims.height); getBounds simply returns the x/y and width/height. I use this to set the left/top, but in IE, it's doubling; say the coordinates are 500, 20; when it sets this on the element, its actually setting to 1000, 40. Any ideas why? In firefox, this works correctly. this.get_element() returns the correct element and all, but it's not setting correctly, even though event logging says it's the correct coordinates. When using setLocation too, it doesn't work in either... What else in my code may be affecting it? JQuery isn't an option here too. Thanks.

    Hi, I building an Google Chrome extension that place some IMG tag in sites. This img tag on :hover must show a custom cursor. The extension uses jQuery as its injected core script. I tried the following methods: 1. var cursor = 'url('+chrome.extension.getURL('icons/cursor.cur')+')'; $('#myImgId').css({ 'position': 'absolute', 'top':'5px', 'left':'5px', 'cursor':cursor }); This is the best working. On smaller sites its shows the cursor. On slower loading sites it does not. But on little sites it fails sometimes. 2. var cursor = 'url('+chrome.extension.getURL('icons/cursor.cur')+')'; $('<style>#myImgId{cursor:'+cursor+'}</style>').appendTo('head'); This did nothing at all. 3. In manifest.json I injected the css. "content_scripts": [ { "matches": ["http://*/*"], "css": ["css/style.css"], "js": ["j/c.js", "j/s.js"] } The css file just had the cursor:url(icons/cursor.cur) as I don't have idea, how to get real url in a css file. This isn't working at all. I think it must work like this, I didn't find reference for this on code.google though.

  • How to change CSS color values in real-time off a javascript slider?

    I'm making a page where the user gets a javascript slider that goes from 0 to 100 and can use it to set the opacity of a div on the page. I want the opacity of that div to change in real-time as they work the slider. I've not done this before. What's the best approach? There cursor in the slider displays the slider's current value as you move it. It seems to be that I just need to find a way to display that value in any arbitrary other place on the page so I can display it in the style settings for the div. The .js file that generates the slider has a line that (I think) is setting the current value in the cursor: $(this).children(".ui-slider-handle", context).html(parseInt(settings[index]['default'])); TO get this changing number to display somewhere else at the same time, do I just need to add a div somewhere and then add a line like this? $("#newDivId").children(".ui-slider-handle", context).html(parseInt(settings[index]['default'])); That seems like it would give me the number showing up in a div. How then would I get it into a form I could put into the style settings for a div? If this was a php variable, I would do something like this, style="opacity:<?php print $value ?>;" What would be the .js equivalent?

The function checks to see if a section of the form is blank and shows and error message. If the box is not ticked the form submits. If the box is ticked it does not matter whether there is data in the dj_amount.value or not. The form will not submit and no error messages are displayed.   • Assembly-wide / root-level styles in WPF class library

    I have a C# (2008/.NET 3.5) class library assembly that supports WPF (based on http://dotupdate.wordpress.com/2007/12/05/how-to-add-a-wpf-control-library-template-to-visual-c-express-2008/). I've created several windows, and am now attempting to create a common style set for them. However, as it's a class library (instead of a WPF app), I don't have an app.xaml (and its contained Application & corresponding Application.Resources) in which to store these styles for global access. So: How can I create a top-level set of style definitions that'll be seen by all xaml files in the assembly, given that I do not have app.xaml (see above)? And/or is it possible to add a working app.xaml to a class library? FYI, I did try creating a ResourceDictionary in a ResourceDictionary.xaml file, and include it in each window within a "Window.Resources" block. That turned out to solve the styling of Buttons, etc... but not for the enclosing Window. I can put 'Style="{StaticResource MyWindowStyle}"' in the Window's opening block, and it compiles and shows up in the VS Design window fine, but during actual runtime I get a parse exception (MyWindowStyle could not be found; I'm guessing Visual Studio sees the dictionary included after the line in question, but the CRL does things more sequentially and therefore hasn't loaded the ResourceDictionary yet).

Including one for my DialogWindows, which will just be Windows. <Style x:Key="DialogWindow" TargetType="{x:Type Window}" > <Setter Property="OverridesDefaultStyle" Value="True"/> <Setter Property="WindowStyle" Value="None" /> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type Window}"> <Grid Background="{StaticResource SunkenBackground}"> <StackPanel Margin="20,20,20,20" Background="{StaticResource SunkenBackground}"> <AdornerDecorator> <ContentPresenter/> </AdornerDecorator> </StackPanel> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> As you can see every DialogWindow should have a grid and a stackpanel, and then the content goes inside there. I've added the file to my App.xaml, and on one of my dialog windows I added Style="{StaticResource DialogWindow}". So the question is: Now that I have my Template set up for a window, and things are actually styled properly once I've added the StaticResource, what tags do I use to wrap my content in inside of my DialogWindow? I tried wrapping them inside Grid, but that just breaks the layout. If I wrap them inside a StackPanel, they look correct, but then I've got 2 StackPanels and a Grid, when if I didn't include the template I could just have 1 StackPanel and a Grid (I realize I could just take the stackpanel out of the template and do it for every DialogWindow, but that doesn't seem like a good solution).   • Parent and siblings inherits a child list items styles

    I have a simple menu <ul id="menu"> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item 1</a></li> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item 2</a></li> <li class="expanded"><a href="#">Menu Item 3</a> <ul> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item a</a></li> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item b</a></li> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item c</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item 4</a></li> </ul> and ul#menu li:hover {font-weight:bold;} The problem I am facing is when I hover above a ul li li, the parent as well as all its siblings gets the hover effect. I only want the list item I hovered above to get the effect. I tried ul#menu li.leaf:hover {..}, ul#menu li.expanded:hover {..} , but even in that case, when I hover above li.expanded, it's child inherits the style. It is important for me to style the list items, not a (the style is more complicated than the one I posted) How do I fix this?
