  recently i read this blog about google integrating clang parser into their code analysis tools This is something in which c++ is at least a decade behind other languages like java, but now that llvm-clang is almost c++ iso-ready, i think its possible for c++ code analysis tools to begin using the c++ parser effectively, since it has been designed from the ground up precisely for this so i'm wondering if there are existing open source or known commercial projects taking this path, integrating with clang to provide higher-level analysis tools?

• Qml and QfileSystemModel interaction problem

  I'm having some problem in realizing an interaction between QML and C++ to obtain a very basic file browser that is shown within a ListView. I tried to use as model for my data the QT class QFileSystemModel, but it did't work as I expected, probably I didn't fully understand the QT class documentation about the use of this model or the example I found on the internet. Then when I first double click on drive "C:\" it shows the list of files and directories on that path, but when I double click on a directory a second time the screen flickers for one moment and then it shows again the PC logical drives. Can anyone tell me how should I use the QFileSystemModel class with a ListView QML object? Thanks in advance! Carlo

• Accessing JMX for Oracle WebLogic 11g

  In Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4, we use the latest Oracle WebLogic release (11g). The instructions below illustrate a way of allowing a console like jconsole to remotely monitor and manage Oracle WebLogic using the JMX Mbeans. Typically management of Oracle WebLogic is done from Oracle Enterprise Manager or the Oracle Weblogic console application but you can also use JMX. To access the JMX capability for Oracle WebLogic 11g, for an Oracle Utilities Application Framework based product, using a JMX console (such as jconsole) the following process needs to be performed: Enable the JMX Management Server in the Oracle WebLogic console at splapp - Configuration - General - Advanced Settings option. Enable both Compatibility Mbean Server Enabled and Management EJB Enabled (this enables the legacy and new JMX interface). Save the changes This change will require a restart. In the startup of the Oracle WebLogic server in the $SPLSYSTEMLOGS/myserver.log (or %SPLESYSTEMLOGS%\myserver.log on Windows) you will see the BEA-149512 message indicating the Mbean servers have been started. The message will indicate the JMX URL that can be used to access the JMX Mbeans. The URL is in the format: service:jmx:iiop://host:port/jndi/mbeanserver where: host - Oracle WebLogic host name port - Oracle WebLogic port number mbeanserver - Mbean Server to access. Valid Values: weblogic.management.mbeanservers.runtime weblogic.management.mbeanservers.edit weblogic.management.mbeanservers.domainruntime For illustrative purposes we will use the domainruntime Mbean. Ensure that you execute the splenviron[.sh] utility to set the appropriate environment variables for the desired environment. Execute the following jconsole command to initiate the connection to the JMX Mbean server Windows: jconsole -J-Djava.class.path=%JAVA_HOME%\lib\jconsole.jar;%WL_HOME%\server\lib\wljmxclient.jar -J-Djmx.remote.protocol.provider.pkgs=weblogic.management.remote Linux/Unix jconsole -J-Djava.class.path=$JAVA_HOME/lib/jconsole.jar;$WL_HOME/server/lib/wljmxclient.jar -J-Djmx.remote.protocol.provider.pkgs=weblogic.management.remote You will see a New Connection Dialog. Specify the URL from the previous steps into the Remote process (i.,e. service:jmx:iiop...). The credentials are the credentials specified for the Oracle WebLogic console.   In my last post, I showed you how to perform feature upgrade and upgrade my feature from 0.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.1. In this post, I’d like to continue on this topic and upgrade the feature again. For the first version of my solution, I deploy a document library with a custom document set content type and then upgrade the solution so I index the application number column. Now , I will create a new version of the solution so that it will remove the threshold of the list. You can download the solution here. Once you extract your solution, the first version is in the original folder. In order to deploy the original solution, you need to run the sitecreation.ps1 in the script folder. The version 1.1 will be in the Upgrade folder and version 1.2 will be in the Upgrade2 folder. You need to make the following changes to the existing solution. 1. • Gnome Shell segfault in libglib-2.0

  I have been using Ubuntu 11.10 + Gnome Shell with a Nvidia card, but now I've moved it to my new PC which has an ATI card, at first it wasn't booting but I installed the driver from amd.com and then it worked. Anyway my problem is that gnome-shell is crashing, mostly when I try to start a VirtualBox machine (it happened in other times but I don't remember what I was doing). Sometimes gnome-shell respawns and it continue working but sometimes it doesn't so I have to restart lightdm and lose all the windows I was using.   The program evaluation and review technique (PERT) shows relationships between defined tasks in a project without taking into consideration a time line. This chart is an excellent way to identify dependencies of tasks based on other tasks. This chart allows project managers to identify the critical path of a project to minimize any time delays to the project. According to Craig Borysowich in his article “Pros & Cons of the PERT/CPM Method stated the following advantages and disadvantages: “PERT/CPM has the following advantages: A PERT/CPM chart explicitly defines and makes visible dependencies (precedence relationships) between the WBS elements, PERT/CPM facilitates identification of the critical path and makes this visible, PERT/CPM facilitates identification of early start, late start, and slack for each activity, PERT/CPM provides for potentially reduced project duration due to better understanding of dependencies leading to improved overlapping of activities and tasks where feasible.  PERT/CPM has the following disadvantages: There can be potentially hundreds or thousands of activities and individual dependency relationships, The network charts tend to be large and unwieldy requiring several pages to print and requiring special size paper, The lack of a timeframe on most PERT/CPM charts makes it harder to show status although colors can help (e.g., specific color for completed nodes), When the PERT/CPM charts become unwieldy, they are no longer used to manage the project.” (Borysowich, 2008) Traditionally PERT charts are used in the initial planning of a project like in a project that is utilizing the waterfall approach. Once the chart was created then project managers could further analyze this data to determine the earliest start time for each stage in the project. This is important because this information can be used to help forecast resource needs during a project and where in the project. However, the agile environment can approach this differently because of their constant need to be in contact with the client and the other stakeholders.  The PERT chart can also be used during project iteration to determine what is to be worked on next, such as a prioritized To-Do list a wife would give her husband at the start of a weekend. In my personal opinion, the COTS-centric environment would not really change how a company uses a PERT chart in their day to day work. The only thing I can is that there would be less tasks to include in the chart because the functionally milestones are already completed when the components are purchased. • 2D Barcode Addendum

  Having finally got my external drive back(long story) today from Oklahoma (thank you so much Sammy) Im back with a full compliment of Oracle and blogging tools at my disposal. I have missed JDeveloper this past week, which I have found, I immensely prefer over Eclipse (let the flaming commence :0) I use Zoundry Raven for writing articles and its not installed locally but on my external drove, so I have been soldiering on with the blog server's pain in the backside UI for writing. Now I have my favority editor back and things are calming down workwise, I will start to get the Excel template posts out. Today thou, a note about 2D barcode support or more specifically any barcode that needs some data manipulation before the barcode font is applied. I wrote about these fonts a long time back and laid out the java class you would need to write if you had an algorithm from the font manufacturer to use. I missed out a valuable point and James at Luminex fell into the trap. He was wanting to use the datamatrix font from IDAutomation but and had built the java class to be called from the RTF template but it was not encoding or at least did not appear to be. New debugging feature to the rescue. Kan over at the bipconsultng blog documented the feature a while back. Just adding <?xdo-debug-level:'STATEMENT'?> to my test template generated all the debug files in my c:\temp directory. No messing with files, just a simple command ... at last! Kan has documented the feature here. With the log in hand I spotted a java error stack referencing a missing code128a method, huh? Looking at James' class he had the following snippet: ENCODERS.put("code128a",mUtility.getClass().getMethod("code128a",clazz)); ENCODERS.put("code128b",mUtility.getClass().getMethod("code128b", clazz)); ENCODERS.put("code128c",mUtility.getClass().getMethod("code128c", clazz)); ENCODERS.put("pdf417",mUtility.getClass().getMethod("pdf417", clazz)); ENCODERS.put("datamatrix",mUtility.getClass().getMethod("datamatrix", clazz)); His class did not include the other code128 and pdf147 methods and BIP was expecting them. An easy fix, just comment them out, rebuild and deploy and the encoding started working. If you are hitting similar problems, check that class and ensure all of the referenced methods are available, if not, delete or get commenting. James now has purdy labels popping out that his hard ware can read, sweet!

  I just created a folder according to SSHFS (Ubuntu Docs) sudo apt-get install sshfs sudo gpasswd -a jm fuse sshfs -o idmap=user [email protected]:/path/to/folder folder Then I found that the folder is mounted, but I cannot write to it.   I downloaded Ardour yesterday, it worked, edited an audio file done. Come back today it wont start I get this: Ardour could not start JACK There are several possible reasons: 1) You requested audio parameters that are not supported.. 2) JACK is running as another user.   Im currently in the process of migrating our many BizTalk projects from MKS source control to TFS.  While we will be using TFS for work item tracking and source control etc we will be continuing to use Cruise Control for continuous integration although im updating this to CCNet 1.5 at the same time. Ill post a few things as much as a reminder to myself about some of the problems we come across. Problem After the first build of our code the next time a build is triggered an error is encountered by the TFS source control block refreshing the source code. Interestingly there are other folders created by the build which are deleted fine.  My assumption is that this if something to do with the file adapter polling the directory.  However note that we have not had this problem with other source control blocks in the past. • cannot connect with huawei e173 after upgrade to 12.10 using network manager

  Since upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10 I can't connect to internet using mobile broadband modem Huawei e173. It worked earlier without problems and now it seems to be properly recognized (at least its connections appear in network manager applet), and after selecting connection manually it starts connection procedure. After about 20 seconds it returns to state disconnected. • RTS Movement + Navigation + Destination

  I'm looking into building my own simple RTS game, and I'm trying to get my head around the movement of single, and multi selected units. (Developing in Unity) After much research, I now know that its a bigger task than I thought. So I need to break it down. I already have an A* navigation system with static obstacles taken into account. I don't want to worry about dynamic local avoidance right now. So I guess my first break down question would be: How would I go about moving mutli units to the same location. Right now - my units move to the location, but because they're all told to go to the same location, they start to 'fight' over one another to get there. I think theres two paths to go down: 1) Give each individual unit a separate destination point that is close to the 'master' destination point - and get the units to move to that. 2) Group my selected units in a flock formation, and move that entire flock group towards the destination point. Question about each path: 1a) How can I go about finding a suitable destination point that is close to the master destination? What happens if there isn't a suitable destination point? 1b) Would this be more CPU heavy? As it has to compute a path for each unit? (40 unit count). 2a) Is this a good idea? Not giving the units themselves a destination, but instead the flock (which holds the units within). The units within the flock could then maintain a formation (local avoidance) - though, again local avoidance is not an issue at this current time. 2b) Not sure what results I would get if I have a flock of 5 units, or a flock of 40 units, as the radius would be greater - which might mess up my A* navigation system. In other words: A flock of 2 units will be able to move down an alleyway, but a flock of 40 wont. But my nav system won't take that into account. I would appreciate any feedback.
