    You can put your documents in SP - cool, but, when its time to reorganize folders structure what I should do with old links? Is there a way how to identify document instead of using URL where path to the document is used? I need something like permanent link: http://mysharepoint/doc-123, where 123 is the document identifier. I need URL to the document which doesn't depend on folders where the document is published. Are there solutions?

    Hi there, im looking for an example script. I saw one yesterday but for the life of me I can't find it again today. The task I have is to allow the user to search 1 database table via input controls on an aspx page where they can select and , or , equals to combine fields, generating the sql on the fly with a stringbuilder or similar. (it runs behind the corp firewall) Please can someone point me in the right direction of an example or tutorial I've been working on the page, but have run into problems.     I'm trying to map my skills and responsibilities profile sections to one of the custom properties in Active Directory (extensionattribute1 , 2, etc). I'm entering comma seperated values in AD and it's importing the values fine but sees the comma seperated values as one value on import. i.e. 'C#,asp.net,javascript' rather than 'C#', 'asp.net', 'Javascript'. Any ideas. I'm almost there it's just not spliting the values correctly on import. thanks in Advance

    Hey, I am onto a task in which i have to create a link in a doccument library either upload or new link,clicking on which a form/page "not infopath" will get open and allow to upload the doccument and along with that we have some text boxes on the same page which will be asking for the properties of the doccument(like "Customer of the doccument","content Developer") and after filling up all of the things when user click on submit than in the doccument library the value of the url as well as properties comes into the columns/fields of the doccument library. Can anyone have the solution for this?

    I need to deploy a new List View for the standard List View Web Part in MOSS 2007 via the object model (the list already exists, a new view should be added). I need and want to make this list view read-only. This is because saving changes to the view would corrupt modifications made to Header/Footer. How can I do that via the object model? I looked at the content db, the read-only flag (0x20) is stored with the view and could technically be updated using calls to proc_GetAllWebPartsOnPage and proc_UpdateView[Properties]. NOTE: The database interface and all mentioned stored procs are all documented by Microsoft. Is there ANY way to do that via the object model, because I would strongly prefer that?

  • Creating a sub site in SharePoint takes a very long time

    Hi, I am working in a MOSS 2007 project and have customized many parts of it. There is a problem in the production server where it takes a very long time (more than 15 minutes, sometimes fails due to timeouts) to create a sub site (even with the built-in site templates). While in the development server, it only takes 1 to 2 minutes. Both servers are having same configuration with 8 cores CPU and 8 GIGs RAM. Both are using separate database servers with the same configuration. The content db size is around 100 GB. More than a hundred subsites are there. What could be the reason why in the other server it will take so much time? Is there any configuration or something else I need to take care? Thanks a lot, all helps are appreciated.

    I am creating a booking module using MOSS 2007.What i would like to know is that is it possible to create a webart that will show only the Daily view ,which will be connected to the central Calender.. Basically what im trying to achieve is this. Each Room must have its own webpart that shows the bookings only associated with that room,so ultimately you might have two rooms that are booked at 8:PM(Same Day) showing on the central Booking calender..... Help would be appreciated

    I have tried googling for the past one hour straight now and tried many ways to search for an array, in an array. My objective is, to find a keyword in the URL, and the keywords are in a txt file. I tried also like described in this article to set the browser.link.open_newwindow and browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction preferences but that doesn't bringt anything. And I tried it with all Target attributes which came in my mind. So I'm grateful for any hints, tips what ever this is driving me crazy...
