I need to add check constraints to a databases that is the target for a replication, but I cannot add the check constraints to the publishing database. If both files in the Source folder,java file shows source and design view in IDE. If I delete the Demo.form in source folder,The Design view doesn't show. I am using Netbeans 6.8 and Glassfish V3 I right clicked on my web service and clicked "edit web service attributes" and then checked "secure service" and then selected keystore of my server. This username and password (test) is in Glassfish server in file realm. But when i try to invoke my webservice i always get SEC5046: Audit: Authentication refused for [test]. SEC1201: Login failed for user: test What am i doing wrong? Am i missing something?

  • Object Oriented vs Relational Databases

    Objects oriented databases seem like a really cool idea to me, no need to worry about mapping your domain model to your database model, no messing around with sql or ORM tools. The way I understand it, relational DBs offer some advantages when there is massive amounts of data, and searching an indexing need to be done. To my mind 99% of websites are not massive, and enterprise issues never need to be thought about, so why arn't OO DBs more widely used?

  • Table in DB for generating primary keys?

    Do you ever use a separate table for "generating" artificial primary keys for DB (and why)? What I mean is to have a table with two columns, table name and current ID - with which you could get new "ID" for some table by simply locking the row with that table name, getting the current value of the key, increment it by one, and unlock the row. Why would you prefer this over standard integer identity column? P.S. The "idea" is from Fowlers Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture, btw...

    I'm looking at the possibility of using Android as a secure corporate mobile platform. One of the pre-requisites for this will be a way of managing multiple devices, security policies, software deployment, that sort of thing - essentially the things the BlackBerry Enterprise Server handles for BlackBerry or MDM (or something 3rd party like SOTI) handles for Windows Mobile. Does such a thing exist for Android? It's a platform we're interested in but without this right now (and we're not in a position to build it ourselves) it's a non-starter.

  • Scalability of Boost.Asio

    I'm curious how far others have pushed Boost.Asio in terms of scalability. I am writing an application that may use close to 1000 socket objects, a handful of acceptor objects, and many thousand timer objects. I've configured it such that there's a thread pool invoking io_service::run and use strands in the appropriate places to ensure my handlers do not stomp on each other. My platform is Red Hat Enterprise Linux with Boost 1.39, though I'm not opposed to upgrading to a more recent version of boost.

  • Does anybody actually use the permissions policy controls in tomcat?

    While I can appreciate the point of the fine granularity in which you can enable security for every single little thing for each individual application in tomcat, in reality, it's an insane pain in the ass. Every single file, socket, everything for every single application. Sure if you're writing a "hello world" application, it's not too much to ask, but an enterprise sized application? That's insane. Does anybody actually use it, or does everybody just say "*" for everything?
