• rdiff-backup is taking longer and longer every time it runs

  I've been running rdiff-backup for the past week or so, every night at 4am. It started out not taking that long, but its taking longer and longer and longer every time its runs every night. In some cases there are quite a few new and changed files and in other cases, not so much. It started out taking < 10 minutes, and after a week its taking over 4.5 hrs to run. It's only about 300gigs of data total. One important thing to note though, rdiff-backup is backup up stuff over to a USB2 external drive. Maybe thats why its so slow?

• Apache mod_jk Setting for Tomcat - workers.properties

  I am trying to direct files with .jsp extensions to tomcat. Otherwise I want apache to serve the file directly (no tomcat). Currently I have a test.jsp which is supposed to create an HTML page with the current date in the body. Instead when I go to that .jsp I see the JK Status Manager. The mod_jk.logs only show, init_jk::mod_jk.c (3365): mod_jk/1.2.35 initialized. I have tomcat and apache setup on my server. Apache runs on 80 and tomcat runs on 8080. localhost:8080 show the tomcat welcome page. I downloaded tomcat-connectors-1.2.35-windows-i386-httpd-2.2.x and copied the mod_jk.so to C:\apache\modules. Then I added LoadModule jk_module modules/mod_jk.so to my httpd.conf. I restart apache and the module loads just fine. Next I downloaded the mod_jk source to get the workers.properties file. I copy workers.properties to C:\apache\confg. Then I added this user, workers.tomcat_home="C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Tomcat 7.0" workers.java_home="C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.7.0_03" worker.list=ajp13 worker.ajp13.port=8080 worker.ajp13.host=localhost worker.ajp13.type=ajp13 worker.ajp13.socket_timeout=10 When I try to use the ajp13 user in my httpd.conf I get the following error in my mod_jk.log, [Wed Mar 28 13:08:51 2012] [2196:4100] [info] ajp_connection_tcp_get_message::jk_ajp_common.c (1258): (ajp13) can't receive the response header message from tomcat, network problems or tomcat (127.0.0.1:8080) is down (errno=60) [Wed Mar 28 13:08:51 2012] [2196:4100] [error] ajp_get_reply::jk_ajp_common.c (2117): (ajp13) Tomcat is down or refused connection. • Moved DNS and Email Hosting, Now Can't Send/Receive To/From Domains Hosted on Previous Host

  Our company had 4 domains whose emails and DNS were hosted by one company, and then we moved the email and DNS hosting for 3 of the 4 domains to a new company. Now, the 3 domains that were moved can't send or receive emails to and from the one domain still left on the old server. All other email functions work fine for all 4 domains. There are no bouncebacks, error messages, or emails stuck in queue, and no evidence of these missing emails hitting the new servers. The new hosting company confirms that everything is fine on their end, and assures me that it's most likely an old zone file still remaining on the old nameserver, and so the emails sent from the old host is routed to what it believes is still the authoritative nameserver. Because the old zone file's MX records still contain the old resource, the requests never leave the old nameserver to go online to do a fresh search for the real (new) authoritative nameserver. The compounding problem is that the old company is rather inept and doesn't seem to have the technical expertise to identify the problem, much less fix it. (I know, I know.) Is the problem truly that this old zone file just needs to be deleted from the old company's nameserver? If so, what's the best way for me to describe this to them? If not, what do you think could be the issue? Any help is much appreciated. I'm not in IT, so all this is new to me. I know it seems weird for me (the client) to have to do this legwork, but I just want to get this resolved. • Simple Cisco ASA 5505 config issue

  I have a Cisco ASA setup with two interfaces: inside: 192.168.2.254 / 255.255.255.0 SecLevel:100 outside: 192.168.3.250 / 255.255.255.0 SecLevel: 0 I have a static route setup to allow PCs on the inside network to access the internet via a gateway on the outside interface (3.254): outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.3.254 This all works fine. I now need to be able to access a PC on the outside interface (3.253) from a PC on the inside interface on port 35300. I understand I should be able to do this with no problems, as I'm going from a higher security level to a lower one. However I can't get any connection. Do I need to set up a seperate static route? Perhaps the route above is overriding what I need to be able to do (is it routing ALL traffic through the gateway?) Any advice on how to do this would be apprecaited. • iptables 1.4 and passive FTP on custom port

  after the upgrade from debian squeeze to wheezy I've got a problem with passive FTP connection. I could narrow it to be iptables related, as I could connect via FTP w/o problems after adding my IP to the iptables ACCEPT rule. Before the upgrade I was able just to do modprobe nf_conntract_ftp ports=21332 and adding iptables -A THRU -p tcp --dport 21332 -m state --state NEW,ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT now..it doesn't help anymore. The INPUT rule is being triggered as I can see in the counter, but the directory listing is the last thing it does. Setting up a passive-port range is the last thing I want to do, I dislike open ports. I also tried the trick with helper mod by adding following rule before the actual rule for 21332 iptables -A THRU -p tcp -i eth0 --dport 21332 -m state --state NEW -m helper --helper ftp-21332 -j ACCEPT but it doesn't help and is even not being triggered according to counter. • How to configure a GridView CommandField to trigger Full Page Update in UpdatePanel

  I have 2 user controls on my page. One is used for searching, and the other is used for editing (along with a few other things). The user control that provides the search functionality uses a GridView to display the search results. This GridView has a CommandField used for editing (showEditButton="true"). I would like to place the GridView into an UpdatePanel so that paging through the search results will be smooth. The thing is that when the user clicks the Edit Link (the CommandField) I need to preform a full page postback so that the search user control can be hidden and the edit user control can be displayed. Edit: the reason I need to do a full page postback is because the edit user control is outside of the UpdatePanel that my GridView is in. It is not only outside the UpdatePanel, but it's in a completely different user control. I have no idea how to add the CommandField as a full page postback trigger to the UpdatePanel. The PostBackTrigger (which is used to indicate the controls cause a full page postback) takes a ControlID as a parameter; however the CommandButton does not have an ID...and you can see why I'm having a problem with this. Update on what else I've tried to solve the problem: I took a new approach to solving the problem. In my new approach, I used a TemplateField instead of a CommandField. I placed a LinkButton control in the TemplateField and gave it a name. During the GridView's RowDataBound event I retrieved the LinkButton control and added it to the UpdatePanel's Triggers. This is the ASP Markup for the UpdatePanel and the GridView <asp:UpdatePanel ID="SearchResultsUpdateSection" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:GridView ID="SearchResultsGrid" runat="server" AllowPaging="true" AutoGenerateColumns="false"> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField> <HeaderTemplate></HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="Edit" runat="server" Text="Edit"></asp:LinkButton> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:BoundField ...... </Columns> </asp:GridView> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> In my VB.NET code. I implemented a function that handles the GridView's RowDataBound event. In this method I find the LinkButton for the row being bound to, create a PostBackTrigger for the LinkButton, and add it to the UpdatePanel's Triggers. This means that a PostBackTrigger is created for every "edit" LinkButton in the GridView Edit: this did not create a PostBackTrigger for Every "edit" LinkButton because the ID is the same for all LinkButtons in the GridView. • VFP Unit Matrix Multiply problem on the iPhone

  Hi. I'm trying to write a Matrix3x3 multiply using the Vector Floating Point on the iPhone, however i'm encountering some problems. This is my first attempt at writing any ARM assembly, so it could be a faily simple solution that i'm not seeing. I've currently got a small application running using a maths library that i've written. I'm investigating into the benifits using the Vector Floating Point Unit would provide so i've taken my matrix multiply and converted it to asm. Previously the application would run without a problem, however now my objects will all randomly disappear. This seems to be caused by the results from my matrix multiply becoming NAN at some point. While debugging i've managed to notice that if i were to say _A = C prior to the return and after the ASM, _A will not necessarily be equal to C which has only increased my confusion. I had thought it was possibly due to the pointers I'm giving to the VFPU being incrimented by lines such as "fldmias %0!, {s0-s2} \n\t" however my understanding of asm is not good enough to properly understand the problem, nor to see an alternative approach to that line of code. Anyway, I was hoping someone with a greater understanding than me would be able to see a solution, and any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you :-)

  OK, for two days now i have been trying to solve an error i have inside the cellForRowAtIndex method, let start by saying that i have tracked down the bug to this method, the error is [CFDictionary image] or [Not a Type image] message sent to deallocated instance. I know about the debug flags, NSZombie, MallocStack, and others, they helped me narrow it down to this method and why, but I do not know how to solve besides a redesign of the app UI.   I'm having issues with getting DBI's IBM DB2 driver to work with mod_perl. The native DB2 driver is installed (hence it works as CGI). Running Apache 2.2.3, mod_perl 2.0.4 under RHEL5. This guy had the same problem as me: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg22909.html But I have no idea how he fixed it. What does mod_php4 have to do with mod_perl? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm having no luck with google. Update: As james2vegas pointed out, the problem has something to do with PHP: I disable PHP all together I get the a different error: Total Environment allocation failure! Did you set up your DB2 client environment? I believe this error is to do with environment variables not being set up correctly, namely DB2INSTANCE. However, I'm not able to turn off PHP to resolve this problem (I need it for some legacy applications). So I now have 2 questions: How can I fix the original issue without disabling PHP all together? How can I fix the environment issue? I've set DB2INSTANCE, DB2_PATH and SQLLIB variables correctly using SetEnv and PerlSetEnv in httpd.conf, but with no luck. Note: I've edited the code to determine if the problem was to do with Global Variable Persistence.

• DataTrigger inside ControlTemplate doesn't update

  I have a ListBox that is bound to a list of CustomerViewModel-objects, that each has two dependency properties: - Name (string) - Description (string) - IsVisible (bool) (the IsVisible property is True by default and is reversed via the ToggleVisibility Command on the CustomerViewModel) I would like to display the Name and Description to the right of a Border-control, that is has a Transparent background when the IsVisible property is True and Green when the False. My problem is that the DataTrigger part of the code below doesn't work the way I want, because the Setter-part isn't triggered when the IsVisible is changed. What am I doing wrong? This code runs correctly on Glassfish v 2.1 But when the server was updated to Glassfish v 2.1.1, the attribute stopped to be passed correctly. Instead of passing edited item (when we change the values in table row, we are actually changing the underlying object fields), the source item is submitted to server, i.e. the item that was previously given to the page. All the changes that were made on the page are discarded. I tried to update jsf version from 1.2_02 to 1.2_14 (we are using jsf RI), but it had no effect. Perhaps anyone came across the same problem? Any help and suggestions will be appreciated.

  Hi All, In below code in a Gird First column is BaseFieldControl from a column of type Choice of SPList. Secound column is a text box control with textchange event. Both the controls are created at rowdatabound event of gridview. Now the problem is that when Steps: 1) select any of the value from BaseFieldControl(DropDownList) which is rendered from Choice Column of SPList 2) enter any thing in textbox in another column of grid. 3) textchanged event fires up and in textchange event rebound the grid. Problem: the selected value becomes the first item or the default value(if any). but if i do not rebound the grid at text changed event it works fine. • Delphi 2010 differs in Canvas transparency compared to Delphi 7?

  I'm porting some very old code from Delph7 to Delphi2010 with a few changes as possible to the existing code base for the usual reasons. First: the good news for anyone who hasn't jumped yet: it's not as daunting as it may look! I'm actually pleased (& surprised) at how easy 1,000,000+ lines of code have moved across. And what a relief to be back on the leading edge! Delphi 2010 has so many great enhancements. However, I'm having a cosmetic problem with some TStringGrids and TDbGrids descendants. In the last century (literally!) someone wrote the two methods below. The first method is used to justify text. When run in Delphi 2010, the new text and the unjustified text to both appear in the cells written to. Of course it's a mess visually, almost illegible. Sometimes, as a result of the second method is use, the grid cells are actually semi-transparent, with text from the window below showing through. (Again, not pretty!) It appears to me that Delphi 2010's TDbGrid and TStringGrid have some differences in the way they handle transparency? I haven't much experience in this area of Delphi (in fact, I have no idea what the 2nd method is actually doing!) and was hoping someone could give me some pointers on what's going on and how to fix it. This is where I am having problems. In the resulting table, Target_Name needs to become a column that holds Target_ID as a value for each row in the resulting table. The string that needs to be parsed is in this format: @var_name1,@var_datatype1=@var_value1&@var_name2,@var_datatype2=@var_value2&@var_name3,@var_datatype3=@var_value3 And what I ultimately need as a result (in a table or table variable): RT_ID IF_ID OTHER 1 1 val,ue3 1 2 val,ue3 1 1 val,ue4 1 2 val,ue4 And I need to be able to join on the result. Initially, I was just going to make this a function that returns a table variable but for some reason I can't figure out how to get it into an actual table variable. Whatever parses the string needs to be able to be used directly in queries so I don't think a stored procedure is really the right thing to be using. So, the result I want and need is now in ##global_temp. How do I put all of that into something that can be returned from a function (or something)? Or can I get something more useful returned from the exec statement? In the end, the results of the parsed string need to be in a table that can be joined on and used... Ideally this would have been a view but I guess it can't with all the processing that needs to be done on that information string. Ideas? Thanks!

  I'm trying to learn how to use the UITableView in conjunction with a SQLite back end. My issue is that I've gotten the table to populate with the records from the database, however I'm having a problem with the section titles. I am not able to figure out the proper set up for this, and I'm repeating all tasks under each section. The table looks like this. The groups field is where I'm trying to pull the section title from. • Twitter Bootstrap modal spans, side-by-side divs and "control-group"?

  I'm trying my best to have a good looking modal login form but for some reasons it seems that no matter how I nest divs, I cannot obtain the proper shape. What I need is a big "lock" image side-by-side with a username/password form. The best I could do adds a horizontal scroller by the modal bottom and shows the input gadgets fairly distant from the image partly hidden on the right side of the modal canvas. Inspecting with FireBug it seems that the spans in row-fluid are ok but the "control-label" and "controls" class adds way too much space on the left by width (for the labels) and margin-left (for the controls). How would you solve it? Am I doing something wrong with divs and classes nesting? • HTML overflow:hidden doesn't format text correctly

  I'm working on a website for an American Football team. They have these newsitems on their front page which they can manage through a CMS system. I have a problem with alligning the text inside those news items. Two of the news items look like this: As you can see, the right newsitem text are displayed nicely. But the left cuts it off really bad. You can only see the top half of the text at the last sentence. I use overflow: hidden; to make sure the text doesn't make the div or newsitem bigger. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this through HTML and CSS or should I cut it off serverside with PHP? • php/dos : How do you parse a regedit export file?

  My objective is to look for Company key-value in the registry hive and then pull the corresponding Guid and other keys and values following it. So I figured i would run the regedit export command and then parse the file with php for the keys I need. So after running the dos batch command >regedit /E "output.txt" "HKLM\System....\Company1" The output textfile seems to be in some kind of UNICODE format which isn't regex friendly. I'm using php to parse the file and pull the keys.
