Recent studies may have you thinking that it’s time to give up the blog and focus on Twitter or Facebook. But don’t be rash. Search engine optimization is a major benefit of keeping a business blog.
Hi guys : Are there any established online sites for collaborative coding ? I have a github project with 5 developers, in different areas - we need somewhere that we can all "hangout" at.
Right now we use group skype, but skype is designed more for family/social communication , and doesn't work on linux.
IRC is okay, but its a little difficult to use for novices.
an interface like yammer, twitter, facebook would be ideal, but also, we would want it to be real time (not requiring page reloads etc...)
With the new iPhone 5 being as powerful as the supercomputers of the 1980s, its only a matter of time when the latest phones will be powerful enough to run a twitter-scale web application from within my pocket. When that time comes, performance will no longer be something programmers need to care about. Will low level languages still have a place? Or will everyone move to dynamic languages like Python?
Oracle WebCenter and Oracle Identity Management help people collaborate more efficiently with social tools that optimize connections between people, information and applications while ensuring timely, relevant and accurate information is always available. See this demo with Andy Kershaw, Senior Director of Product Management, Oracle WebCenter.

What I'm looking for here is people using their tablets in normal, everyday settings.Such as this one from Microsoft evangelist Martin Beeby using his Surface on a train:https://twitter.com/thebeebs/status/264259464201388032/photo/1Please send your pictures to [email protected]. I am trying to look for resources (sites, magazines, blogs, twitter etc) that track what's hot and happening in the open source space.
This is programming language agnostic, I am more interested in knowing what kind of cool apps people are coming up these days particularly in the enterprise and scientific computing space. I am also into compilers, debuggers and other low level stuff.
Any help appreciated.
Recently I have become very interested in F# and I am at the moment trying to get to grips with it. It is definitely a different beast than C#, but so far I like it – a lot! So to get into it I thought I would combine it with something I have some knowledge about: SQLCLRRead all about it here.Subscribe to my RSS feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/manageddata.Follow me on twitter as: @nielsberglund
I'm working on extracting the sentiment from YouTube comments, blogs, news content, Facebook wall posts, and Twitter feeds.
I'm looking for an automated way to do this: the two third-party solutions I've found have been AlchemyAPI and RapidMiner.
Are these the best way to approach this project, or should I be using something else? Is there a more efficient way to approach sentiment analysis? What techniques have worked for you in a project like this?

If you’ve had your ear to the twitter ground you will have seen that the provisional agenda for SQLBIts has been put online. http:// sqlbits .com/information/agenda.aspx You will also notice that we have put on a little weight. Yes we’ve eaten too many sessions meaning we have to extend to another room from the 10:50 onwards. This means you have 6 sessions to choose from rather than the normal 5. Whats more to get even more sessions in we’ve looked at those that have registered and decided they are...(read more)

<b>The H Open:</b> "Free software has won: practically all of the biggest and most exciting Web companies like Google, Facebook and Twitter run on it. But it is also in danger of losing, because those same services now represent a huge threat to our freedom..."
I have worked with a website in the past freedomist.com
This site gathers wordpress articles from multiple news source sites, and then republishes them. The company that runs this site has about 50 other sites that do the same thing. They post links to sites such as twitter and secondary wordpress sites.
Is this a moral way of increasing page ranking?
Is this against the terms of service with lets say Google?

Popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter can be great for business but things can get out of control if the proper policies aren't in place and enforced.
Often, my colleagues and I run into specific problems, for example what's the best way to deploy this, or would this or that technique be a good one to use, or just "hey, have you seen that new thing". However at the moment this communication goes via mail, or skype, or twitter, and a lot of information becomes hard to find very quickly. Is there a service or methodology to keep this kind of information ordered and traceable?
