    I have a stored procedure that I'm using to populate a table with about 60 columns. I have genereated 1000 exec statements that look like this: exec PopulateCVCSTAdvancement 174, 213, 1, 0, 7365 exec PopulateCVCSTAdvancement 174, 214, 1, 0, 7365 exec PopulateCVCSTAdvancement 175, 213, 0, 0, 7365 Each time the stored procedure will be inserting anywhere from 1 to 3,000 records (usually around 2,000 records). The "server" is running desktop hardware with 4 gigs of available memory on a server OS. The problem I have is that after the first 10-15 executes of an average of 1-2 seconds each time, the next 10-15 seem to never finish. Am I doing this correctly? How should I do this? Thanks!   • How can I use SCM on linked files in VS2008 projects?

    Background: I'm using Visual-SVN V. 1.7.5 with VS2008. I'm fairly new to SVN. I have a Solution that uses source files that will be shared with other Solutions. I've put these files in a folder called "Shared", and added them to my Solution using "Add - Existing Item... - Add As Link" which works fine as far as VS2008 is concerned. But when I try to add the linked files to SVN using the "Add to Suversion" menu item on the file's context menu, I get a warning: "...not added to Subversion because it is out of working copy. Please setup working copy root using Visual SVN - Set Working Copy Root menu". I tried this, but this seems to change the root directory of the whole solution - not what I want to do. Googling and searching SO indicates that I may want to set up some SVN Externals. I tried to follow the examples, using the command line for the first time with Visual-SVN. But I just got a bunch of error messages I didn't understand. Questions: Are Externals the way to go here? If so, can someone provide some detailed, step-by-step help on how to do this with Visual-SVN?

    This simple query throws the "Ambiguous column name TaskID" error on one db-server only. This is ridiculous. We tested this with the same database structure on different servers and different versions of ms sql (2005/2008), and it's only THIS particular client's server that throws the error. I'm actually frustrated.   • Embedding script with timeout in case server goes down

    I need a way to make sure my script won't block the viewed page, if the server serving the script is down (port 80 is blocked for some reason). Currently when I test it and take down the server (Apache), or close the firewall, I see in the browser that it is trying to load the resource (script in that case), without success for long seconds, until it aborts. Is there a nice way to get past this issue?

    I have written a PHP application using Windows and XAMPP. I've been trying to run it on Ubuntu 10.10 with Lighttpd 1.4.26. Parts of the application work fine, but whenever I try to log in, I get a 500 - Internal Server Error page. The client gets an IP (10.8.0.6) from the server OpenVPN client is started as an administrator. But: I cannot ping the other one on either side. 'Gateway' value is empty on client's side (in the adapter's "status" window). Client has got no internet access when the link is up. Ideal configuration: I only want the client to be able to use the server's Internet access and access its resources (MySQL server in particular). I do not need or want the server to access the client's local network. The client needs to be able to access it's local network, although all Internet traffic should be redirected to the VPN link. I spent a considerable amount of time on this but it's still not working, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

    I am running Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition R2 x64 and I installed SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition. All of the preliminary checks run fine (Apart from a warning about Windows Firewall and opening ports which is unrelated to this and shouldn't be an issue - I can open those ports). Half way through the actual installation, I get a popup with this error: Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement. The installation still runs to completion when I press ok. However, at the end, it states that the following services "failed": database engine services sql server replication full-text search reporting services How do I know if this actually means that anything from my installation (which is on a clean Windows Server setup - nothing else on there, no previous SQL Servers, no upgrades, etc) is missing? I know from my programming experience that locks are for concurrency control and the Microsoft help on this issue points to changing my query's lock/transactions in a certain way to fix the issue. But I am not touching any queries? Also, now that I have installed the app, when I login, I keep getting this message: TITLE: Connect to Server ------------------------------ Cannot connect to MSSQLSERVER. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. Half way through the actual installation, I get a popup with this error: Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement. The installation still runs to completion when I press ok. However, at the end, it states that the following services "failed": database engine services sql server replication full-text search reporting services How do I know if this actually means that anything from my installation (which is on a clean Windows Server setup - nothing else on there, no previous SQL Servers, no upgrades, etc) is missing? I know from my programming experience that locks are for concurrency control and the Microsoft help on this issue points to changing my query's lock/transactions in a certain way to fix the issue. But I am not touching any queries? Also, now that I have installed the app, when I login, I keep getting this message: TITLE: Connect to Server Cannot connect to MSSQLSERVER. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 67) For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=67&LinkId=20476 BUTTONS: OK I went into the Configuration Manager and enabled named pipes and restarted the service (this is something I have done before as this message is common and not serious). I have disabled Windows Firewall temporarily. I have checked the instance name against the error logs. Please advise on both of these errors. I think these two errors are related. Thanks

    i am trying to configure Exchange Server 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 to receive emails from the internet following the danscourses tutorials: and i followed this video for the DNS & MX records: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdf_3DRssks i don't have any windows administration skills, and i am stuck with the DNS configuration. and the following are my domain configuration i got from the hosting. following are the steps i made: 1- Add new name server: add ns1.centors.com ip Exchange Server Public IP: 41.233.26.131 2- Change the A record change it to point to the public ip address Exchange Server Public IP: 41.233.26.131 3- New cname record for www and make it resolve to centors.com 4- New mx record for mail.centors.com 5- New A record for mail.centors.com: name: mail ip: Exchange Server Public IP: 41.233.26.131 6- new A record for ns1: ip: Exchange Server Public IP: 41.233.26.131 7- i made port forward in the router for SMTP and POP3 to the exchange server local ip address. ISSUE: i have a user account in the active directory, and the user is member of the domain, the user is [email protected] and when trying to login with this account in outlook 2010 on other machine using following data: account type: POP3 incoming mail server: mail.centors.com outgoing mail server: mail.centors.com i always get the error: Authorization failed, check your server settings. please advise what's wrong with the configuration, thanks in advance.
