• How to test Rails 3 Engines with Cucumber & Rspec?

  I apologize if this question is slightly subjective... I am trying to figure out the best way to test Rails 3 Engines with Cucumber & Rspec. In order to test the engine a rails 3 app is necessary. Here is what I am currently doing: Add a rails test app to the root of the gem (myengine) by running: rails new /myengine/rails_app Add Cucumber to /myengine/rails_app/features as you would in a normal Rails app Require the Rails Engine Gem (using :path=>"/myengine") in /myengine/rails_app/Gemfile Add spec to the root directory of the gem: /myengine/spec Include the fixtures in /myengine/spec/fixtures and I add the following to my cuc env.rb: env.rb: Fixtures.reset_cache fixtures_folder = File.join(Rails.root, 'spec', 'fixtures') fixtures = Dir[File.join(fixtures_folder, '*.yml')].map {|f| File.basename(f, '.yml') } Fixtures.create_fixtures(fixtures_folder, fixtures) Do you see any problems with setting it up like this? The tests run fine, but I am a bit hesitant to put the features inside the test rails app. I originally tried putting the features in the root of the gem and I created the test rails app inside features/support, but for some reason my engine would not initialize when I ran the tests, even though I could see the app loading everything else when cuc ran. If anyone is working with Rails Engines and is using cuc and rspec for testing, I would be interested to hear your setup.

• Sharepoint - Passing parameters in URL to NewForm.aspx

  Any suggestions would be great. I've inherited a system and have been requested to add a context menu item to allow the ability to add a new item. I've set up the context menu with the new option and the newform.aspx to accept and pull parameters from the url for populating some fields. The context menu was created with the content editor web part and the follow JavaScript. function Custom_AddDocLibMenuItems(m, ctx) { var strAction = "window.location='http://address?para1=....'"; var strDisplayText = "Taxonomy"; var strImagePath = ""; // Add our new menu item CAMOpt(m, strDisplayText, strAction, strImagePath); // add a separator to the menu CAMSep(m); // false means that the standard menu items should also be rendered return false; } I'm having difficulties getting the proper values in order to concatenate them to the strAction string (which would be the full url of the newform.aspx. Any suggestions on how I retrieve the values of the columns for the item that the user right click to get context menu.

  Hi guys, I'm adding several widgets to a Frame which is located in a tix.NoteBook. When there are too much widgets to fit in the window, I want to use a scrollbar, so I put tix.ScrolledWindow inside that Frame and add my widgets to this ScrolledWindow instead. • SmartGWT - Update ListGridRecord dynamically

  I am using SmartGWT and I have a ListGrid populated with an array of ListGridRecords using the setData() call. I am trying to update a progress property of a single record (on a timer for testing) and have it update in the browser. I have tried various combinations of draw(), redraw(), markForRedraw() etc. to no avail. I also tried overriding the updateRecordComponent() method in my table class, but it only gets called when the records are first created (after createRecordComponent()). I should note that I do NOT want to accomplish this by binding to a DataSource. I just want to be able to update the attribute on the client-side.   I have an Entity Framework data model. Part of the model is a Customer entity. The web service provides a method to get a customer, and to receive an updated version of this customer to be persisted. To test this, I created a new ASP.NET web Application, (Solution Add New Project ASP.NET Web Application), then added a reference to my service reference using the standard Add Service Reference dialog. I then call the service using the following code: var client = new CustomerServiceClient(); var customer = client.GetCustomerByID(18); // get it customer.LimitDown = 100; // change it client.SaveCustomer(customer); // persist it Everything works as expected. From what I've read online and in the Language Patterns book, I should be able to modify the grammar like this: assignment : IDENT ':=' expr ';' -> ^(':=' IDENT expr) ; expr : factor ('*' factor)* -> ^('*' factor+) ; factor : primary ('+' primary)* -> ^('+' primary+) ; primary : NUM | '(' expr ')' -> ^(expr) ; But it does not work. Although it compiles fine, when I run the parser I get a RewriteEmptyStreamException error. Here's where things get weird.   Hi All, I'm writing an app where I have a BorderLayout for the entire page. In the south part I have a Panel to which I add FormPanels. I would like to be able to scroll that Panel so I can scroll through the FormPanels. So far, nothing I've found from searches has helped. I don't quite understand what ExtJS requires in terms of the combination of LayoutManagers, setting the size and setting AutoScroll. Any partial tips will be gratefully followed up. • Single player 'pong' game

  I am just starting out learning pygame and livewires, and I'm trying to make a single-player pong game, where you just hit the ball, and it bounces around until it passes your paddle (located on the left side of the screen and controlled by the mouse), which makes you lose. I have the basic code, but the ball doesn't stay on the screen, it just flickers and doesn't remain constant. Also, the paddle does not move with the mouse. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I just can't figure it out. Help please! • Crystal Reports Images not loading in ASP.NET MVC

  I'm using Crystal Reports in a Webform inside of an MVC application. Images in the reports are not being displayed, however, on both the ASP.NET Development Server and IIS 7 (on Win7x64). I know from a number of other questions similar to this that the CrystalImageHandler HTTP Handler is responsible for rendering the image, but I've tried all of the usual solutions to no avail. • How to create a UIScrollView Programmatically?

  Alright, so the key here is I'm not using IB at all, because the View I'm working with is created programmatically. The UIView covers the lower half the screen, and has a bunch of buttons on it. However, I want to add more buttons to the UIView, without making it any larger. To do so, I want to make a UIScrollView inside the view, which will allow me to add more buttons off screen so the user can scroll to them. I think that's how it works. self.manaView = [[[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame] autorelease]; self.manaView.backgroundColor = [UIColor purpleColor]; UIScrollView *scroll = [UIScrollView alloc]; scroll.contentSize = CGSizeMake(320, 400); scroll.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator = YES; [self.manaView addSubview:scroll]; The first part of the code iniates my UIView, which works great, but I can't figure out how to make the UIScrollView programmatically and add it to the view, and then add the buttons to it. • problems with scrolling a java TextArea

  All, I am running into an issue using JTextArea and JScrollPane. For some reason the scroll pane appears to not recognize the last line in the document, and will only scroll down to the line before it. The scroll bar does not even change to a state where I can slide it until the lines in the document are two greater than the number of lines the textArea shows (it should happen as soon as it is one greater). Has anyone run into this before? What would be a good solution (I want to avoid having to add an extra 'blank' line to the end of the document, which I would have to remove every time I add a new line)? My first guess would be to just add more endpoints like this: servicehost = new ServiceHost(typeof(MyService1)); servicehost.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(IMyService1), new NetTcpBinding(), "net.tcp://127.0.0.1:800/MyApp/MyService1"); servicehost.AddServiceEndpoint(typeof(IMyService2), new NetTcpBinding(), "net.tcp://127.0.0.1:800/MyApp/MyService2"); servicehost.Open(); But of course this does not work, since in the creation of ServiceHost I can either pass MyService1 as parameter or MyService2 - so I can add a lot of endpoints to my service, but all have to use the same contract, since I only can provide one implementation? I got the feeling I'm missing the point, here. Sure there must be some way to provide an implementation for every endpoint-contract I add, or not?

  We have a WPF app that has a DataGrid inside a ListView. private DataTable table_; We do a bunch or dynamic column generation ( depending on the report we are showing ) We then do the a query and fill the DataTable row by row, this query may or may not have data.( not the problem, an empty grid is expected ) We set the ListView's ItemsSource to the DefaultView of the DataTable. lv.ItemsSource = table_.DefaultView; We then (looking at the user's pass usage of the app, set the sort on the column) Sort Method below: private void Sort(string sortBy, ListSortDirection direction) { ICollectionView dataView = CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(lv.ItemsSource); dataView.SortDescriptions.Clear(); var sd = new SortDescription(sortBy, direction); dataView.SortDescriptions.Add(sd); dataView.Refresh(); } In the Zero DataTable rows scenario, the sort does not "hold"? and if we dynamically add rows they will not be in sorted order. If the DataTable has at-least 1 row when the sort is applied, and we dynamically add rows to the DataTable, the rows com in sorted correctly. I have built a standalone app that replicate this... It is an annoyance and I can add a check to see if the DataTable was empty, and re-apply the sort... Anyone know whats going on here, and am I doing something wrong?   I am writing a small console application in C# that references a custom assembly that implements custom .net Profile provider. I have added the following sections to my app.config file which references the custom class and assembly. <system.web> <profile defaultProvider="MyCompanyProfileProvider" inherits="MyCompany.Web.User.GenericProfile" automaticSaveEnabled="false"> <providers> <clear/> <add name="MyCompanyProfileProvider" connectionStringName="defaultDatabase" applicationName="/myApplication" type="MyCompany.Web.ProfileProvider, MyCompany.Web"/> </providers> <properties> <add name="JobRoleId" type="System.Int32"/> <add name="LastCompetencyId" type="System.Int32" defaultValue="0"/> <add name="MixSettings" type="System.Xml.XmlDocument"/> </properties> </profile></system.web> However when I run the app in debug mode I get the following error as if it is looking in the System.Web assembly rather than one specified in the app.config file. Could not load type 'MyCompany.Web.User.GenericProfile' from assembly 'System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'. I have a local web app that also uses the assembly and custom Profile provider and that work without any problems. I have checked the referenced assembly is being copied to the output directory. Any ideas??

  Hey there, I am not sure if many of you are familiar with the box2d physics engine, but I am using it within cocos2d and objective c. This more or less could be a general objective-c question though, I am performing this: NSMutableArray *allShapes = [[NSMutableArray array] retain]; b2PolygonShape shape; .. .. [allShapes addObject:shape]; and receiving this error on the addObject definition on build: cannot convert 'b2PolygonShape' to 'objc_object*' in argument passing So more or less I guess I want to know how to add a b2PolygonShape to a mutable array. b2PolygonShape appears to just be a class, not a struct or anything like that. The closest thing I could find on google to which I think could do this is described as 'encapsulating the b2PolygonShape as an NSObject and then add that to the array', but not sure the best way to do this, however I would have thought this object should add using addObject, as some of my other instantiated class objects add to arrays fine. Is this all because b2PolygonShape does not inherit NSObject at it's root? Thanks

That module UI then does a simple rowlayout with two children. The botton child has RowData(1, 1) so it fills up all the available space. My problem is that the c (parent) container reports a height and width value which includes the value underneath the scrollbars. What I would like is that the scrollbars show all the space excluding their own space. This is a screenshot showing what I mean:

  To learn databasing, I am creating a movie database. To associate multiple directors with a movie, I have the following schema: movie(m_ID, ....) m_director(dirID, dirName)//dirID is a autoincrement primary key m_directs(dirID, m_ID) //dirID, m_ID are set as foreign Keys in the mysql database(InnoDB engine) I have a program that connects to the db that needs to add a movie to the database. I can easily add a new entry to the movie table and the m_director table, but I am having trouble adding a entry in the m_directs table. INSERT INTO m_director (dirName) VALUES("Jason Reitman"); INSERT INTO m_directs (dirID, m_ID) VALUES(LAST_INSERT_ID(), "tt0467406"); I am using this sql statement to insert a new director and add the association to the movie. I know the primary key of the movie, but I don't know the dirID, so I use LAST_INSERT_ID() to get the last id of the director just inserted. The problem I am having is that I get the following error: MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlException (0x80004005): Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (`siteproducts`. `m_directs`, CONSTRAINT `m_directs_ibfk_2` FOREIGN KEY (`dirID`) REFERENCES `m_directs` (`dirID`) ON DELETE CASCADE ON UPDATE CASCADE) Any ideas?
