• Why can't I get into my repositories?

  Upgraded from 10.04 to 10.10 by mistake and am having problems with some of my programs. They either don't work or they disappear from view on the screen. The Repositories menu item in Synaptic Packages Manager is a case in point. The computer does nothing when I choose this item. I am locked out of unless I edit /etc/apt/sources.list. The rest of the application seems to work, however. Update Manager just flashes on screen then disappears without doing, as does Printing. How do I downgrade from a higher to a lower level repository? I need to downgrade from 10.10 to 10.04. Each time Ubuntu upgrades to 10.10 evil things happen and the operating system really gets messed up. I really do not want to have to erase and install my operating system all over again if I can help it.

  When i clicked check this error message came up. But it does not come up when update manager strarts automatically. When you open update manager this error comes up. Any ideas on how to fix it? • SPARC T5-4 Engineering Simulation Solution

  A recent Oracle internal performance evaluation for computer-based product design demonstrated that Oracle's SPARC T5-4 server running MSC's SimManager simulation software with Oracle Database 12c consolidates the work of multiple x86 servers while delivering better overall performance.   Engineering simulation solutions have taken the center stage in helping companies design and develop innovative products while reducing physical prototyping costs, and exploring a larger design space, resulting in more design possibilities. For this solution, a single SPARC T5-4 server running Oracle Solaris 11 was deployed to consolidate the MSC SimManager server, the Oracle Database 12c server, and the web application server onto a single platform. • Flash Retirement - HTML to be "the one"

  I will update this blog post as we get closer to the retirement of the Flash portal. As you might have read the support.oracle.com  flash site will be replaced with what you see in supporthtml.oracle.com,  once we get the rest of the features and functions ported over to the html site. The HTML site is written using Oracle's ADF stack. So we are now pretty much 100% eating our own dog food.  More details to follow.

  In Oracle Applications it is possible to configure iSupplier to link to an Oracle iSurvey, and for the Oracle iSurvey to be executed for a Supplier. This integration requires: An Oracle Script An Oracle iSurvey linked to the Oracle Script iSupplier Configuration to reference the iSurvey. Once set up, the iSurvey will be available from the supplier tab from the Purchasing Responsibilities and from the iSupplier Portal.  Responses to the survey can be viewed from the Survey Administrator Responsibility. • Ubuntu 14.04 upgrade succeeded partially - I would like to use a different mirror; how can I do that?

  When I wanted to upgrade from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 the update manager told me that there was an unresolvable problem with calculating the upgrade. In order to see more details I performed the following on the command line: apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get dist-upgrade apt-get install update-manager-core do-release-upgrade Now do-release-upgrade tells me that no newer version is available but the "about" box in the main menu tells me I am still on 13.10. I think the latter is right, as for instance in the "system settings" there is no way to select local menus, which is present in 14.04 (I tried with a DVD, and there it is). Maybe the problem is related to the fact that "apt-get update" cannot get two resources called "saucy/InRelease" and "saucy/main/binary-i386/Packages" from the mirror (mirror.informatik.uni-mannheim.de; 404 not found). I would like to use a different mirror; how can I do that? Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

• Incompatibility between x86 and x64 in Installation solution

  Hello, I have installation solution that have installer project (not web installer but simple installer) that installs NT services, web service and web sites with help of additional two projects of dlls with my own code that performs my installation step. In user actions of installer project I call installer function of one of those projects, and this project calls to installer of second project: installer - MiddleCaller - InstallationCore. All this developing on Windows 7 and work fine when I compile all in 32 bit. The project must run on Windows 2008. Because of some reasons all must be in x64 bit. For this purpose, in MiddleCaller and InstallationCore I click right button of mouse on project - build - targer x64. For to move installer project to 64 bit in properties of installer (when project is active) I check: Target platform: x64. When I run installation on x86 I get error: The installation package is not supported by this processor type" And this is good, because now I know that my installation compiled in 64 bit, but when I run this on windows 2008 I get: Error 1001. Exception occured while initializing the instance: System.BadImageFormatException: could not load file or Assembly 'MiddleCaller, v...' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. Any one has some idea what I need to do for run fine the installation on x64? May be I still not moved the installer project to x64 bit, if yes, where I do this? Thank you for ahead.

• Skip Checkout in Magento for a downloadable product

  Hello Magento boffins. I am using Magento to build an eBooks site. For the release, we plan to have a number of free downloadable books. We were hoping that it would be possible to use the normal Magento 'catalog' functionality to add categories with products underneath. However, since these are free downloadable products, it doesn't really make sense to send users through the checkout when they try to download. Does anyone know of a way to create a free downloadable product which bypasses the checkout altogether? I have noticed that there is a 'free sample' option for downloadable products, but I would prefer not to use this if I can as I plan to use this field for its intended purpose when I add paid products. [EDIT] I have noticed that some of you have voted this question down for 'lack of question clarity'. For clarity, I want: to know if it is possible to create a downloadable product in Magento which doesn't require users to go through the usual checkout process (since it is free) and which is not the 'Free Sample' field of a downloadable product Unfortunately I don't think I can ask this any more eloquently.
