  Is it possible to communicate with an Infrared device (USB Infrared, TV, Mobile Phone, etc) using iOS (iPhone or iPad)? Well, i know it's possible, since there are many remote/universal remote applications in the AppStore. I basically want to know how? What are the limitations and requirements? What kind of additional hardware is required? If it's available in the market? Which protocols should i know about? Which iOS libraries can help me in the process.   I am wondering if anyone can definitively tell me if Flash / AIR can find all these mobile devices front facing camera and use RTMP to stream the video captured ? I would like to create a video conferencing app for these devices. Of course none of them support testing this in the simulators and I don't have the funds to purchase or access all of them that I would like to test. Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me. I have seen some posts where they have done this for android but not sure about support for finding a list of cameras, choosing one and streaming from iphone 4 and playbook. thanks for any help on this.

• How to manipulate the GL.bindframebuffer to target to bind GL_EXT_framebuffer

  I'm trying to change the framebuffer object from GL_ARB_framebuffer and force it to use GL_EXT_framebuffer since my system is not compatible with the first one. Where in the solution do I need to implement this and how? more information on my problem whenever I create a new Windows OpenGL project from Visual Studio using MonoGame i get the error "cannot find entry point in glbindframebuffer in opengl32.dll" since the framebuffer it uses is GL_ARB_framebuffer which is only supported in Opengl 3 so in a github post i read Gihub post where they suggest this patch that in order to patch you need to force the frame buffers to use GL_EXT_framebuffer but I dont know how to force them to use the EXT instead of the ARB , btw Im using Opengl v2 Mobile intel 4 series card, which is Opengl v2 and ARB needs Opengl v3.

• Achieving AES-256 Channel Encryption with the .NET Compact Framework

  Hi There, I am working on a business application where the clients are Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional devices. The server is a Java enterprise application. The industry working group recommends AES-256 encryption for client/server communications. This is necessary to gain certification. The encryption doesn't necessarily need to be channel encryption, it could be payload encryption. Channel encryption is preferable. The client and server communicate using SOAP/HTTP, which we are yet to implement. We plan to use WCF on the compact framework. In order to alleviate some of the work required to implement manual encryption/decryption, it would be nice if we could achieve the required encryption either at the TLS level, or somehow using the WS-* standards (I'm not particularly familiar with that group of technologies but I am learning right now). The server supports https with 256-bit AES. Does anybody have an idea on the best way to implement this? Thanks in advance.

  I added <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> to my manifest in order to have access to Internet, but this is not a main function of my app. So, I don't want to get filtered in Google Play because of this. There is no matching <uses-feature> for this, so my question is what do I need to add with required="false" to avoid filtering. I guess I could add <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.wifi" android:required="false" /> but what about mobile Internet (3G/4G), do I also need this? <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.telephony" android:required="false"/> I want to know which filtering android.permission.INTERNET adds on Google Play, if it adds something.

  I've been tasked with creating a web app to be consumed by a mobile device sporting Windows CE 5.0 (and some with Windows CE 4.2). I've found a host of things that seem to work fine in IE6 on my desktop, but fail when rendered in IE for Windows CE. IE6 is bad enough as it is...does it lose any more functionality on an embedded system? Are there quirks that a developer would need to know about? AJAX seems extremely unlikely. JavaScript seems quirky when linking to a .js file. Panels with scrollbars are finicky. Textboxes can't get focus. DefaultButtons on a form don't work. Any help or resources you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

But, I am able to use fscommand.   Hi, i came accross with a peculiar issue on my mobile site. some phones/gateways sends form post data as url encoded and a text such as "hey how are you?" in a form with method post stored in the db as "hey+how+are+you%3f" This is not the issue with many browsers but one single network from USA called Metro. I notice different phone models acting same way so i assue this is an issue with proxy/gateway. would simply putting _msg = HttpUtility.UrlDecode(_msg); solve my problem? any other suggestions?   Hi everyone, I am currently having a hard time on getting the mobile broadband connection running on ubuntu 10.04(lucid lynx). I am using a USB modem and used wvdial to connect to the web It went like: Sending ATZ ... OK sending some more flags OK modem initialized connecting Local IP x.x.x.x Remote IP y.y.y.y Primary DNS z.z.z.z Secondary DNS a.a.a.a (Some more output) I tested this with invalid username to make sure it is really connected and i think it was connected as connection failed with invalid usernames. Now when I do a remote ping say 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS servers), the ping says unreachable I think this might be because the system may be using the ethernet to send packets which was indeed disconnected. So can anyone help me out with this. How can I select ppp as the interface to send packets or is there some other problem. A command line solution will be appreciated as my network manager applet doesnt works correctly. Any help is much much appreciated. -- thx

  Hi all, Googling for the past week, but cannot finally decide which python web framework would be right for me. The web app I'm about to develop would be almost completely "pure" html with js (jQuery). Server side would have to do the following: authentication session management caching web services (almost all the on page data would be pulled with jQuery through web services) secured web services (through some form of authentication; this is for remote accessing some of the web services though other web apps, desktop/mobile applications) If there is a good tutorial/guide/idea for how to do this in Django I would be most thankfull if someone could share it as I already have experience with it. The thing that made me start thinking about other frameworks is Django's built in ORM. I know I could swap it with SQLAlchemy, but wouldn't go down that road if I'm not sure all the rest of the requirements is supported. Thanks all in advance.

  In my quest for Multidevelopement Web Platforms (Desktop Browser and Mobile), I have encountered only 2 : Titanium Openlaszlo Only two. So are there any others ? I have looked at Titanium, seems very promising but I wasn't even able to create a project as It crashed on my windows 7 PC. As for Openlaszlo I heard about it years ago; OpenLaszlo can generate both flash and html. I wasn't really interested until now as I didn't really have any real need for being multiplatform. Flash alone could suffice with Web Desktop. Did you try any of them ?

  We have a VoIP application imVOX, and we are looking at various ways of expanding our reach. Part of that is writing an HTML5 application, but it requires the use of audio input from the browser (and also push to talk buttons from the browser, even if another app is focused). On the audio side, with HTML5 is there any way of taking audio input from the browser to compress and send to our servers? I know with Flash such is possible, but we're trying to avoid flash for mobile compatibility and generally looking toward the future.

  i got a little problem with a wordpress site that uses contact form 7 and android browser (at least android v1.5). when a user submits the cf7 form (using ajax followed by a js redirect) and tries to return to the forms page later (using the back button as well as opening the form's url) the download prompt for a 'downloadfile.bin' appears. this behavior can not be reproduced on any other mobile or desktop browsers. could anyone shed some light on this issue? thank you in advance!

  Hi All, Is there any RIM API available which will help to get the list of available network service or only Wi-Fi networks for a device and set selected network access point for any network communications? Is it possible programmatically to disable the Mobile networks like GPRS, WAP, etc? For Ex: When a application is started it should scan for WiFi connections (even if there are no previous WiFi network access points are set on device) and list the available WiFi connection. Then user will select the appropriate WiFi connection to connect for any network communication. Outside the application any internet communication (like browser or any other application) should done through same selected WiFi connection. The scanning for WiFi and setting the connection is almost similar to Blackberry WiFi Setup. If anyone know how to implement this using available RIM API and let me know its possible or not.
