    I've been trying to figure out the syntax for an if / else if statement in jquery, but googling gives me mixed messages... There are some sites that say I need a plugin, and others that suggest that it's already possible. Trying those suggestions give me jquery errors in the jquery.js file, so I'm wondering, do I need a plugin or not? Does someone have an example of an if () { //do something } else if () { //do something else } else { //do something } in jquery?

  • Seam + hibernate + jsf on weblogic

    I'm making a little project with Seam, Hibernate and JSF. This project run on JBoss 5.1. My boss wants to deploy this project on WebLogic. I read on the seam documentation that seam and WebLogic don't work fine together. I would like to know if I can use Hibernate (with JPA) and JSF on WebLogic and what framework (struts, spring?) I can use to replace Seam. Edit: I read in the seam documentation (chapter 39, weblogic integration) and I find that: For several releases of Weblogic there has been an issue with how Weblogic generates stubs and compiles EJB's that use variable arguments in their methods. This is confirmed in the Weblogic 9.X and 10.0.MP1 versions. Unfortunately the 10.3 version only partially addresses the issue as detailed below. So, I want to know if other problems like this exist. I'm pretty sure most popular mail clients will block JS. So I was wondering if I can define a hover effect in the style attribute. Or is there any other solution to achieve this effect? Peace

  • Extra Small Spacing

    removed So if you look at the tabs and look at hw2, you'll notice it has a little extra spacing that overlaps the spacing on the right. That's because wrapped the div in the <li>. You will notice the others not having it. I don't understand why is it making that extra little spacing after I wrap it. Just for the record, this is for CSS spacing which has nothing to do with the JS. Update: I found a ghetto work around!

  • Issue with blocking the UI during a onchange request - prevents other event from firing.

    I am having issues with jQuery blockUI plugins and firing two events that are (I think, unless I am loosing it) unrelated. Basically I have textboxes with onchange events bound to them. The event is responsible for blocking the UI, doing the ajax call and on success unblocking the UI. The ajax is saving the text in memory. The other control is a button with on onclick event which also block the UI, fire an ajax request saving what's in memory to the database and on success unblock the UI. Both of these work fine separately. The issue arise when I trigger the onchange by clicking on the button. Then only the onchange is fired and the onclick is ignored. I can change the text in the checkbox, click on the link and IF jQuery.blockUI() is present the onchange alone is fired and the save is never called. If I remove the blockUI both function are called. Here's a fully working example where you can see the issue.   • Jquery Var Returned As object

    I'm trying to pass a variable from one function to another, but the var elmId is being returned as an object and giving an error. When we click on any of the generated divs we should be able to change the size of the div by choosing a width / height value from the drop down menus. I'm trying to pass the clicked div id which is elmId to function displayVals but it is not working. If we replace "#"+elmId in the function displayVals with the actual id of the first div created with is "#divid1" then it works.   • WAS Non-HTTP activation - hooking application startup

    I'm trying to integrate a netTcpBinding based application that is hosted inside WAS with an IoC container (autofac/spring). Unfortunately, when it starts inside WAS and due to the fact that it is not an Http based application, no events are fired inside the Global application class. I need to catch the application domain startup so that I can configure the IoC container. Is there any way to do this when hosting in WAS? I've seen horrible things involving using static classes inside App_Code folders, but I'd like something somewhat more testable and not quite as dirty.

  • Why is FF on OS X loosing jQuery-UI in click event handler?

    In a web page using jQUery 1.7.1 and jQUery-UI 1.8.18, if I output $.ui in an alert box when the document is ready, I get [object Object]. However when using Firefox, if I output $.ui in a click event handler, I get 'undefined' as result. With other browsers (latest versions of IE, Chrome and Safari), the result is still [object Object] when clicking on the link.   • Using Selenium-IDE with a rich Javascript application?

    Problem At my workplace, we're trying to find the best way to create automated-tests for an almost wholly javascript-driven intranet application. Right now we're stuck trying to find a good tradeoff between: Application code in reusable and nest-able GUI components. Tests which are easily created by the testing team Tests which can be recorded once and then automated Tests which do not break after small cosmetic changes to the site XPath expressions (or other possible expressions, like jQuery selectors) naively generated from Selenium-IDE are often non-repeatable and very fragile. Conversely, having the JS code generate special unique ID values for every important DOM-element on the page... well, that is its own headache, complicated by re-usable GUI components and IDs needing to be consistent when the test is re-run. What successes have other people had with this kind of thing? How do you do automated application-level testing of a rich JS interface? Limitations We are using JavascriptMVC 2.0, hopefully 3.0 soon so that we can upgrade to jQuery 1.4.x. The test-making folks are mostly trained to use Selenium IDE to directly record things. The test leads would prefer a page-unique HTML ID on each clickable element on the page... Training the testers to write or alter special expressions (such as telling them which HTML class-names are important branching points) is a no-go. We try to make re-usable javascript components, but this means very few GUI components can treat themselves (or what they contain) as unique. Some of our components already use HTML ID values in their operation. I'd like to avoid doing this anyway, but it complicates the idea of ID-based testing. It may be possible to add custom facilities (like a locator-builder or new locator method) to the Selenium-IDE installation testers use. Almost everything that goes on occurs within a single "page load" from a conventional browser perspective, even when items are saved Current thoughts I'm considering a system where a custom locator-builder (javascript code) for Selenium-IDE will talk with our application code as the tester is recording. In this way, our application becomes partially responsible for generating a mostly-flexible expression (XPath or jQuery) for any given DOM element. While this can avoid requiring more training for testers, I worry it may be over-thinking things.

    This is very similar to a question I asked the other day but my page code has become significantly more complicated and I need to revisit it. I've been using the following code: $('#myLink').click(function() { $('#myImg').attr('src', 'newImg.jpg'); setTimeout(function() { $('#myImg').attr('src', 'oldImg.jpg'); }, 15000); }); To replace an image for a set period of time (15 seconds) when the link is clicked, then after 15 seconds, revert to the original image. However now, I'd like to run a snippet of javascript as well when the link is clicked (in addition to replacing the image), and only when the link is clicked (it's related to the 15 second image) and then have the js code disappear as well after the 15 seconds...however I'm not sure how to have jquery send js code into the page...Basically I just want jQuery to "echo" this code onto the page underneath the 15 second while I am there, but I don't know how jquery formats this "echo". Does this question make sense? interval = 500; imgsrc = "webcam/image.jpg"; function Refresh() { tmp = new Date(); tmp = "?" + tmp.getTime(); document.images["image1"].src = imgsrc + tmp; setTimeout("Refresh()", interval); } Refresh(); It's script for a webcam. Basically it takes a new picture every half a second and replaces it on the page. You must forgive me, I'm new to jquery, I don't know how to make this script work in a jquery context. i'm sorry, I'm explaining badly. This is what I need to happen, step by step: 1) User comes to the page and there is a static image that says "Click here to view webcam" 2) User clicks image 3) Image is replaced by live webcam image, which is refreshed every .5 seconds by the second script in my question. 4) After 15 seconds the live webcam reverts back to the static image saying "click here to view webcam" It is ONLY during that 15 second interval that I wan the webcam refresh script running, otherwise it's wasting bandwidth on an element that isn't even shown. I have the situation where an Account can have up to two Settlement Instructions and this have been modeled like so: The slim-ed down schema: Account --------------------- Id AccountName PrimarySettlementId (nullable) AlternateSettlementId (nullable) SettlementInstruction ---------------------- Id Name The output I want is a single result set with a select statement something along the lines of this which will allow me to construct some java objects in my Spring row mapper: select Account.Id as accountId, Account.AccountName as accountName, s1.Id as primarySettlementId, s1.Name as primarySettlementName, s2.Id as alternateSettlementId, s2.Name as alternateSettlementName I've tried various things but cannot find a way to get the result set merged in to one where the primary and alternate FK's are not null. Finally I have searched the forum, but nothing quite seems to fit with what I need.

    On the Tomcat FAQ it says: "Tomcat is not an EJB server. Tomcat is not a full J2EE server." But if I: use Spring to supply an application context annotate my entities with JPA annotations (and use Hibernate as a JPA provider) configure C3P0 as a connection pooling data source annotate my service methods with @Transactional (and use Atomikos as JTA provider) Use JAXB for marshalling and unmarshalling and possibly add my own JNDI capability then don't I effectively have a JEE application server? And then aren't my beans EJBs? Or is there some other defining characteristic? What is it that a JEE compliant app server gives you that you can't easily/readily get from Tomcat with some 3rd party subsystems?
