    I have floated two divs to left and right...But the next div after those two divs does not appear correctly... My code is follows #Div1{ position: relative; float: left; } #Div2{ position: relative; float: right; } And the display as follows <div id="Div1">This is aligned to left on the same x axis</div> <div id="Div2">This is aligned to right on the same x axis</div> <div style="color: red;">After the alignment this div does not align</div> The output is as follows http://i.stack.imgur.com/8A6hz.png But I expect something like this http://i.stack.imgur.com/wVGN6.png Anyway to accomplish this task ?? Please HELP!! Urgent help needed!!!

  • Firefox 17.0.1 ignoring font-weight

    http://iamsinc.com/blog/new-producer-bonus/ For some reason Firefox 17.0.1 on my Windows 7 machine is ignoring the font-weight of the td elements. It should be normal. This works fine in Chrome, IE 7 8, & 9, but not in FF. I have also tested it on an XP machine running 17.0.1 and it works fine. The font-weight should be normal, not bold. In the second box down ($300k level), the font-weight is showing up as bold on Win 7 FF 17.0.1 which pushes the pictures outside of the box. I have even tried reducing the font-weight waaay down and it has not effect on the problematic FF browser Does anybody have a solution or even a work-around? I hate to make the pictures all smaller just to work around this. Thanks!

  • Dropdown menu getting hidden by images

    I have a set of dropdown menus across the top of a web page. Below is text and some images. When I hover over the top of each menu the menu then expands below as expected but while it overlaps any text on the page it is hidden behind any images. I set the z-index to 9999 and the position is set to absolute. I found if I lower the opacity of the images to say 0.6 then the menu will overlap it. So one solution would be to detect when the menu is being hovered over and then in JavaScript or JQuery temporarily reduce the opacity of the rest of the page until the cursor moves off the menu. If so I'm not sure how to do that but is that the best approach?

    I'm currently trying to capitalize the very first letter from an input. Here's what I tryed : fieldset input { text-transform:capitalize; } But it doesn't work the way I want, as every word is capitalized. I also tryed this : fieldset input:first-letter { text-transform:uppercase; } But it seems <input /> doesn't work at all with first-letter... Anyway, do you have any idea of how to achieve this without javascript (or as little as possible) ?

  • Limiting number of text lines in a table cell

    I have a table cell where I need to limit the text to a max of two lines. I tried achieving this by placing an inner div with a limited height: div { border: 1px solid #EECCDD; width: 100px; height: 40px; overflow: hidden; } <div> <p>bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla</p> </div> <div> <p>bla bla bla bla</p> </div> However, in this case the cells which have only one line of text are not vertically aligned to the middle. I know there are ways to vertically align a text within a div, but most of the ones I found seemed a bit complicated and/or hacky (like this one), and felt like a bit of an overkill. Is there a different way to effectively limit the number of lines inside the cell, or a simple way to align the text in the way I did it?

  • divs with z-index & position class

    hello, i need your help with div positioning into a page. i have the below divs: - the header with z-index 10, position absolute, top 0, height 250px, width 100% - wrapper with margin 0 auto, width 990 and inside - the menu with z-index 8 - content to the right of the menu with z-index 9 so that i could scroll it below the header. the problem is that i want the menu to have fixed position and this is not possible cause it is not working for the x-axis as it gets outside wrapper.     I have a problem with the following code. I tried changing many things (symbols, classes, imgs in the code) but this is killing me and I have no idea how to fix it. Sorry it's so specific, when solved I'll change the title to something more useful. I have two images. My jquery has to calculate the day and show one image or the other depending on that (using a class with display:none). My month has 24 days (it's a xmas thing).     Hi, I've seen an interesting image hover effect being used a lot lately and was wondering whether anyone has any tips or advice on how best to create this effect? What I'd like to create is a hover effect, so that when you hover over an image, the image fades and a magnifying glass or similar icon fades in.
