  • Error while installing dependencies for PyGTK on Mac OS 10.6.3

    I tried to install the following dependencies for PyGTK 2.16.0 (the Python GIMP Tool Kit) on Mac OS 10.6.3: glib 2.25.5 gettext-0.18 libiconv-1.13.1 When I tried to install glib, I got the following error message: gconvert.c:55:2: error: #error GNU libiconv not in use but included iconv.h is from libiconv The libiconv web page talks about a circular dependency between gettext and libiconv---build one, then build the other, then build the first again. I tried to do this, though possibly incorrectly. (Will the following work: make distclean; ./configure; make; sudo make install?) The author of a posting had the same problem, and he solved it by installing libiconv-1.13.1. Could anyone explain the error in more detail, and how to correct it?

    Is it possible to create a custom control structure with several code blocks, in the fashion of before { block1 } then { block2 } finally { block3 }? The question is about the sugar part only - I know the functionality can be easily achieved by passing the three blocks to a method, like doInSequence(block1, block2, block3). A real life example. For my testing utilities I'd like to create a structure like this: getTime(1000) { // Stuff I want to repeat 1000 times. } after { (n, t) => println("Average time: " + t / n) }

    I'm trying to start a VM on a new Hyper-V installation and I'm receiving the following error: The virtual machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running. The following actions may help you resolve the problem: 1) Verify that the processor of the physical computer has a supported version of hardware-assisted virtualization. 2) Verify that hardware-assisted virtualization and hardware-assisted data execution protection are enabled in the BIOS of the physical computer. (If you edit the BIOS to enable either setting, you must turn off the power to the physical computer and then turn it back on. Resetting the physical computer is not sufficient.) 3) If you have made changes to the Boot Configuration Data store, review these changes to ensure that the hypervisor is configured to launch automatically. My machine supports virtualization at the hardware level and it is enabled in BIOS. Why am I receiving this error?

  • Remote desktop session ends abruptly with a "protocol error"

    Intermittently we get a problem where a remote desktop session will get disconnected with the error message “Because of a protocol error, this session will be disconnected. Please try connecting to the remote computer again.” We are getting this with one server only which is running Windows Server 2008, connecting with Windows 7 clients. The session itself stays running, you just get disconnected, and you can try and reconnect. Sometimes you get in for a while then it will kick you out. We are connecting from Windows 7 clients. We have tried connecting using Cord on a Mac and this works fine, so it's not like the session itself is corrupted. One problem is that there are some critical applications running under the session (I know, let's not discuss the idiocy of that), so we cannot reset the session in any way during the working day – so any diagnostics must have minimum impact.     I can run my Asp.Net MVC 2 application without an issue on my local computer. Just Run / Debug. But if I have already built it, I can't publish it! I have to clean the solution and publish it again. I know this is not system critical, but it's really annoying. "One Click Publish" is not "Clean solution and then One click publish" The exact error is as follows: Error 11 It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. I suspect it's something to do with the Web.Config in the Views folder, but then why only after I build once previously. And just to note, the app works fine once published.

Is my SSL key bad? If so, what is the correct way to upload the key to the server? I just opened the crt file in notepad and copied the data out and saved it over ssh.

  • Getting 0x80070043 error when accessing Samba share from Windows 7

    I created a Samba share on my new Ubuntu 10.04 machine. When I try to access it from a Windows 7 client, I get network error 0x80070043 (The network path not found). However, I get this error when I click on the share in the Windows Explorer, so it seems that Windows does find the path. I already enabled NTLMv1, disabled 128bit security and made sure that NetBIOS is running. I briefly disabled the Windows firewall, it didn't make a difference. What could be the problem?

    Looking at the source code of Action.Submit, I'm trying to figure out where ext is appending the form's fields to the parameters. Instead of sending each field as a separate parameter, I want to send something like: formObj:{field1:value, field2:value} Currently, each of those values are simply added to the parameter list along with any custom/baseParams. Where are these formfields being added so that I can change this behaviour? Thanks.

  • Carbonite Restore Error after Windows Update

    I recently installed Windows 8 on my main machine, and I'm have an issue with Carbonite. I can't restore any files from my previous OS, only files that where backed up from the current OS. I can download them from the web service, but I can't restore them with the client. The error says "You don't have the necessary security permissions to restore this file." (The file on top was backed up from the new install, while the one on bottom was from the old install.) I'm also having another issue, where Carbonite doesn't think it's running in admin mode. I think it's probably related to this error. When I right click to restore a file, I can't choose a location to restore to. I contacted Carbonite, and they said it's a known issue that apparently happens when upgrade from XP to 7, but they wouldn't help me since I'm running a beta OS. Hopefully one of you fine folks will have an idea.

    I am getting the following error when referencing the assembly Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word in my asp.net application. The type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.ApplicationClass' exists in both 'C:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC\Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word\11.0.0.0_71e9bce111e9429c\Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.dll' and 'C:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC\Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word\12.0.0.0_71e9bce111e9429c\Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.dll' Previously, I was getting the error but the 12.0.0.0 was in the PIA directory under Visual Studio, but the error message was the same, except pointing to a different path. Since then, I copied the dll to the GAC, but with the same error. I thought that .Net was supposed to take care of this. Can anyone give me some help? Thanks BTW, I am doing this using Visual Studio .Net 2008

  • Custom animation problem in Powerpoint 2003

    I have an animation of a grid that scrolls to the left. It's a Gantt chart, and it works fine. I then have several elements I want to drop on the grid, I give them all the same movement animation and this works fine, everything scrolls at the same speed and time. However I want to add entrance animations for the elements on the grid, I can have it so that when all the entrance animations are complete then it starts scrolling, but I want it to enter whilst it is scrolling. How do you have an entrance animation for an element and keep it's position updated? The entrance animation and movement animation don't seem to work together as expected when run simultaneously. cheers!
