    Is it possible to create a custom control structure with several code blocks, in the fashion of before { block1 } then { block2 } finally { block3 }? The question is about the sugar part only - I know the functionality can be easily achieved by passing the three blocks to a method, like doInSequence(block1, block2, block3). A real life example. For my testing utilities I'd like to create a structure like this: getTime(1000) { // Stuff I want to repeat 1000 times. } after { (n, t) => println("Average time: " + t / n) }

  • "Error loading operating system": Win7/Vista

    Hey fellas, Have this computer for about 2 years now. Originally had Vista installed, now have Windows 7 installed. Both on separate hard drives. Also have another drive used strictly for media. About a week ago, the Vista hard drive started going on its way out. Was getting problems on startup. After a few BIOS settings, I was able to get into Windows 7 and everything was fine. However, I started remembering the startup issues, so I deleted the bootup for Vista under msconfig. Didn't restart the computer at that time, though. For a few days, everything was ok. Last night I play a little poker, then hit the hay. I wake up to a good ole "Error loading operating system" on the screen. Just wonderful. Looks like the computer restarted overnight (auto updates, anyone?). So, after a big of finagling and half hearted tries, I can't get past the "Error loading operating system" screen. FWIW, in the BIOS it can see my hard drives fine. So I move on. I get my Windows 7 installation disk to try and do a repair. Go in the BIOS, change boot priority to DVD drive, and we're on our merry way. After loading from the disc, I first try jumping into the "Repair your computer" section. That opens up the System Recovery Options. However, this is where the problem comes into play. I don't see any operating systems here. Nada. What's odd though is if I click on the Load Drivers button, I can see my Windows 7 partition (C:), and can go through the files and folders without issue. What do I do at this point? I can't repair it. It seems like I can traverse the hard drive without issue when in an open dialog in the System Recovery Options, but I'm getting the good ole "Error loading computer" on bootup. Suggestions? Thanks all!!

  • Remote desktop session ends abruptly with a "protocol error"

    Intermittently we get a problem where a remote desktop session will get disconnected with the error message “Because of a protocol error, this session will be disconnected. Please try connecting to the remote computer again.” We are getting this with one server only which is running Windows Server 2008, connecting with Windows 7 clients. The session itself stays running, you just get disconnected, and you can try and reconnect. Sometimes you get in for a while then it will kick you out. We are connecting from Windows 7 clients. We have tried connecting using Cord on a Mac and this works fine, so it's not like the session itself is corrupted. One problem is that there are some critical applications running under the session (I know, let's not discuss the idiocy of that), so we cannot reset the session in any way during the working day – so any diagnostics must have minimum impact.   • Error while installing dependencies for PyGTK on Mac OS 10.6.3

    I tried to install the following dependencies for PyGTK 2.16.0 (the Python GIMP Tool Kit) on Mac OS 10.6.3: glib 2.25.5 gettext-0.18 libiconv-1.13.1 When I tried to install glib, I got the following error message: gconvert.c:55:2: error: #error GNU libiconv not in use but included iconv.h is from libiconv The libiconv web page talks about a circular dependency between gettext and libiconv---build one, then build the other, then build the first again. I tried to do this, though possibly incorrectly. (Will the following work: make distclean; ./configure; make; sudo make install?) The author of a posting had the same problem, and he solved it by installing libiconv-1.13.1. Could anyone explain the error in more detail, and how to correct it?

    I'm trying to start a VM on a new Hyper-V installation and I'm receiving the following error: The virtual machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running. The following actions may help you resolve the problem: 1) Verify that the processor of the physical computer has a supported version of hardware-assisted virtualization. 2) Verify that hardware-assisted virtualization and hardware-assisted data execution protection are enabled in the BIOS of the physical computer. (If you edit the BIOS to enable either setting, you must turn off the power to the physical computer and then turn it back on. Resetting the physical computer is not sufficient.) 3) If you have made changes to the Boot Configuration Data store, review these changes to ensure that the hypervisor is configured to launch automatically. My machine supports virtualization at the hardware level and it is enabled in BIOS. Why am I receiving this error?

Switching my domain to the new version PHP 5.4.29 result in this error: (104)Connection reset by peer: mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server Here is phpinfo() of the complied PHP version, obtained running php54-cgi index.php from the terminal.     I have an animation of a grid that scrolls to the left. It's a Gantt chart, and it works fine. I then have several elements I want to drop on the grid, I give them all the same movement animation and this works fine, everything scrolls at the same speed and time. However I want to add entrance animations for the elements on the grid, I can have it so that when all the entrance animations are complete then it starts scrolling, but I want it to enter whilst it is scrolling. How do you have an entrance animation for an element and keep it's position updated? The entrance animation and movement animation don't seem to work together as expected when run simultaneously. cheers!

    I'm trying to find a parental control for Ubuntu that turns adult site words into *. I have tried webcontentcontrol (doesn't even ask me to set a password), mobicip (doesn't even get listed in package names). My family can see my adult bookmark names and that's really embarrassing. I tried sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol sudo apt-get -f install sudo apt-get upgrade sudo pkill webcontentcontrol sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol but still can't uninstall it. Googling for that error message resulted in a solution that is first said dangerous, later said wrong. After sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol, I always get the error message "Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)". What should I do? The full error message is in brazilian portuguese. Should I post it anyway? I have just installed nanny, but while webcontentcontrol is installed, it doesn't load.

    Looking at the source code of Action.Submit, I'm trying to figure out where ext is appending the form's fields to the parameters. Instead of sending each field as a separate parameter, I want to send something like: formObj:{field1:value, field2:value} Currently, each of those values are simply added to the parameter list along with any custom/baseParams. Where are these formfields being added so that I can change this behaviour? Thanks.

  • Getting 0x80070043 error when accessing Samba share from Windows 7

    I created a Samba share on my new Ubuntu 10.04 machine. When I try to access it from a Windows 7 client, I get network error 0x80070043 (The network path not found). However, I get this error when I click on the share in the Windows Explorer, so it seems that Windows does find the path. I already enabled NTLMv1, disabled 128bit security and made sure that NetBIOS is running. I briefly disabled the Windows firewall, it didn't make a difference. What could be the problem?
