• Encrypting with Perl CBC and decrypting with PHP mcrypt

  I have an encrypted string that was encrypted with Perl Crypt::CBC (Rijndael,cbc). The original plaintext was encrypted with encrypt_hex() method of Crypt::CBC. $encrypted_string = '52616e646f6d49567b2c89810ceddbe8d182c23ba5f6562a418e318b803a370ea25a6a8cbfe82bc6362f790821dce8441a790a7d25d3d9ea29f86e6685d0796d'; I have the 32 character key that was used. mcrypt is successfully compiled into PHP, but I'm having a very hard time trying to decrypt the string in PHP. I keep getting gibberish back. If I unpack('H*', $encrypted_string), I see 'RandomIV' followed by what looks like binary. I can't seem to correctly extract the IV and separate the actual encrypted message. I'm trying to build a handshake protocol for my own project and am having issues with the server converting the clients RSA's public key to a Bignum. It works in my clent code, but the server segfaults when attempting to convert the hex value of the clients public RSA to a bignum.   Hello, Let's imagine that we have table items... table: items item_id INT PRIMARY AUTO_INCREMENT title VARCHAR(255) views INT Let's imagine that it is filled with something like (1, item-1, 10), (2, item-2, 10), (3, item-3, 15) I want to make multi update view for this items from data taken from this array [item_id] = [views] '1' => '50', '2' => '60', '3' => '70', '5' => '10' IMPORTANT! Please note that we have item_id=5 in array, but we don't have item_id=5 in database. I can use INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE, but this way image_id=5 will be inserted into talbe items. How to avoid inserting new key? I just want item_id=5 be skipped because it is not in table. Of course, before execution I can select existing keys from items table; then compare with keys in array; delete nonexistent keys and perform INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE. But maybe there is some more elegant solutions? Thank you.

  I've done an install of Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop when I meant to install Pro - i.e. I've already used the Ultimate license on another box and want the laptop to run Pro for which I've got keys spare. Is there a way to change the SKU of the installed version to downgrade it so that I can use my Pro key. I've got a fair bit of stuff on it and would like to avoid re-installing the OS if I can.

  Hi, Suppose I have two tables: Group ( id integer primary key, someData1 text, someData2 text ) GroupMember ( id integer primary key, group_id foreign key to Group.id, someData text ) I'm aware that my SQL syntax is not correct :) Hopefully is clear enough. My problem is this: I want to load a group record and all the GroupMember records associated with that group. As I see it, there are two options. A single query: SELECT Group.id, Group.someData1, Group.someData2 GroupMember.id, GroupMember.someData FROM Group INNER JOIN GroupMember ... WHERE Group.id = 4; Two queries: SELECT id, someData2, someData2 FROM Group WHERE id = 4; SELECT id, someData FROM GroupMember WHERE group_id = 4; The first solution has the advantage of only being one database round trip, but has the disadvantage of returning redundant data (All group data is duplicated for every group member) The second solution returns no duplicate data but involves two round trips to the database. What is preferable here? I suppose there's some threshold such that if the group sizes become sufficiently large, the cost of returning all the redundant data is going to be greater than the overhead involved with an additional database call.   I've created a small Prism application (using MEF) with the following parts: - Infrastructure project, that contains a global file of region names. - Main project, that has 2 buttons to load other modules. - ModulesInterfaces project, where I've defined an IDataAccess interface for my DataAccess module. - DataAccess project, where there are several files but one main DataAccess class that implements both IDataAccess and IModule. When the user click a button, I want to show him a list of employees, so I need the DataAccess module. If so, how does "requestedValue" become the key? Xcode gives me a compiler warning about an unused variable at the "requestedValue" declaration. I feel like I'm missing something here. • Trouble with data not saving with bindings and shared NSUserDefaults in IB

  I'm having a bit of a strange issue that I can't quite figure out. I'm somewhat of a n00b to Interface Builder. What I am trying to do seems like it should be simple, but it's not working for some reason. In interface builder I have a preferences window with a simple NSTextField. I have set the value binding to the Shared User Defaults Controller with the controller key "values" and model key "test". I build/run my app and open the preferences window, type some random value into said text field, close the window. Command-Q the app. Then in a shell i do a "defaults read com.xxx.yyy" for my app and the key and value are nowhere to be found. That being said, it seems like the next time I fire up the app and change the value it works but only if I switch focus off of the NSTextField before closing the window. In the documentation for NSUserDefaults it says that the shared controller saves values immediately, am I missing something stupid here? Thanks for any help.

  Hi everybody. I use an IAuthorizationStrategy in wicket to limit access to certain pages. However, the IAuthorizationStrategy may not allow one or more of these target pages, so I may end up either with lots of links that lead to "permission denied" pages or lots of deactivated links (i.e. em tags or the like), neither of which is pretty. I could of course write an IComponentInstantiationListener that checks all BookmarkableLinks to see whether their target is accessible through the IAuthorizationStrategy and renders them invisible otherwise, but I wonder if there is an out-of-the-box solution to this problem. For clarification: I only use the isInstantiationAuthorized() method of IAuthorizationStrategy.

  Using the sample app for rpx_now gem ( http://github.com/grosser/rpx_now_example) on localhost:3000, I have successfully logged in via Google Accounts, myOpenID, Yahoo, but cannot make it via Facebook. In the RPX app/widget settings I have set my facebook-app key and secret. In my facebook app settings, the Connect URL is myappname.rpxnow.com. But when I try to connect, then I don't even see a facebook login page, just a number of redirects and I am back to my localhost with the following exception http://gist.github.com/386520 . Before I was successfully connecting with oauth2 gem, however, without fetching user data - only authentication. That time I set only key/secret and localhost as my Connect URL. Currently, I don't even ask for email etc., but still the same problem. Can it happen because rpx_now cannot get requested user data from facebook? Or it is a problem of facebook key/secret? May be I need to provide more settings of my facebook app? • Adapting Machine Learning Algorithms to my Problem

  i'm working on a project and need your ideas, advices. First of all, let me tell my problem. There is power button and some other keys of a machine and there is only one user has authentication to use this machine.There are no other authentication methods, the machine is in public area in a company. the machine is working with the combination of pressing power button and some other keys. The order of pressing keys is secret but we don't trust it, anybody can learn the password and can access the machine. i have the capability of managing the key hold time and also some other metrics to measure the time differences between the key such as horizantal or vertical key press times (differences). and also i can measure the hold time etc. These all means i have some inputs, Now i'm trying to get a user profile by analysing these inputs. My idea is to get the authenticated user to press the password n times and create a threshold or something similar to that. This method also can be said BIOMETRICS, anyone else who knows the machine button combination, can try the password but if he is out of this range can not get access it. How can i adapt these into my algorithms? where should i start ? i don't want to delve deep into machine learning, and also i can see the in my first try i can get false positive and false negative values really high, but i can manage it by changing my inputs. thanks.

  I have 2 asp.net textboxes in an update panel. Both textbox controls have some javascript attached to autotab to the next field and to allow only numeric input. When I enter some data into the first field and press enter, focus shifts to the next field and the requiredfieldvalidator of the second field displays its "* required" error message, even though I've just entered the field. This is only happening in Firefox. • Problem with XStream Marshalling to return xml and json

  When i use new XStream().toXml(someObject); it returns following xml... <response> <status>SUCCESS</status> <isOwnershipVerified class="boolean">false</isOwnershipVerified> </response> and, when i use new XStream(new JsonHierarchicalStreamDriver()).toXml(someObject); it returns following json... {"response": { "status": "SUCCESS", "isOwnershipVerified": { "@class": "boolean""false"} }} Now, since i want to get rid of class attribute altogether (read it not to alias it with anything else, but to remove it) i use following code. XStream xStream = new XStream(); StringWriter writer = new StringWriter(); xStream.marshal(this, new PrettyPrintWriter(writer) { @Override public void addAttribute(final String key, final String value) { if (!key.equals("class")) { super.addAttribute(key, value); } } }); return writer.toString(); which gives follwing xml... <response> <status>SUCCESS</status> <isOwnershipVerified>false</isOwnershipVerified> </response> but, when i pass new JsonHierarchicalStreamDriver() while xStream object creation above, it does NOT return json. it returns the same xml shown above. • Cascading Deletes in SQL Sever 2008 not working.

  I have the following table setup. Bag | +-> BagID (Guid) +-> BagNumber (Int) BagCommentRelation | +-> BagID (Int) +-> CommentID (Guid) BagComment | +-> CommentID (Guid) +-> Text (varchar(200)) BagCommentRelation has Foreign Keys to Bag and BagComment. So, I turned on cascading deletes for both those Foreign Keys, but when I delete a bag, it does not delete the Comment row. Do need to break out a trigger for this? Or am I missing something? (I am using SQL Server 2008) Note: Posting requested SQL. This is the defintion of the BagCommentRelation table. (I had the type of the bagID wrong (I thought it was a guid but it is an int).) • YUI DataTable - Howto have just one paginator?

  Hello, I'm using the YUI DataTable in a Grails 1.1 project using the Grails UI plugin 1.0.2 (YUI being 2.6.1). By default, the DataTable displays 2 paginators: one above and another one below the table. Looking up the YUI API documentation, I could see that I can pass an array of YUI containers as a config parameter but - what are the names of these containers? I've tried loooking at the HTML of the page using Firebug. The ID of the divs containing the paginators are: yui-dt0-paginator0 (above) and yui-dt0-paginator1 (below). If I use them to configure the containers for the navigator, then the navigator is just not displayed at all. • What software will run the new Windows 8 in virtualization under OS X?

  I've read a lot about the new Windows OS, but would like to run it first hand. I've got several Macs with Mountain Lion (10.8) and presume I can use this evaluation license to test the OS for my consulting company. What else do I need to run Windows 8 in virtualization (as I'd rather not mess with BootCamp for several reasons)? Any other gotchas from someone who has gone down this path would be appreciated as well.

• 'Invalid column name [ColumnName]' on a nested linq query.

  I've got the following query: ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID, FieldB = x.FieldBID, FieldC = x.FieldCID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, ..., last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault().Timestamp}) results in: SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldAID' x 5 SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldBID' x 5 SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldCID' x 1 I've worked out it has to do with the last query to Timestamp because this works: ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID, FieldB = x.FieldBID, FieldC = x.FieldCID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, ..., last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault()}) The query has been simplified. The purpose is to group by a set of variables and then show the last time this grouping occured in the db. I'm using Linqpad 4 to generate these results so the Timestamp gives me a string whereas FirstOrDefault gives me the whole object which isn't ideal. Update On further testing I've noticed that the number and type of SQLException is related to the class created in the groupby clause. So, ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault()}) results in SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldAID' x 5
