  • Achieving AES-256 Channel Encryption with the .NET Compact Framework

    Hi There, I am working on a business application where the clients are Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional devices. The server is a Java enterprise application. The industry working group recommends AES-256 encryption for client/server communications. This is necessary to gain certification. The encryption doesn't necessarily need to be channel encryption, it could be payload encryption. Channel encryption is preferable. The client and server communicate using SOAP/HTTP, which we are yet to implement. We plan to use WCF on the compact framework. In order to alleviate some of the work required to implement manual encryption/decryption, it would be nice if we could achieve the required encryption either at the TLS level, or somehow using the WS-* standards (I'm not particularly familiar with that group of technologies but I am learning right now). The server supports https with 256-bit AES. Does anybody have an idea on the best way to implement this? Thanks in advance.

  • imagecopyresampled to resize and crop an image - not returning the expected result

    imagecopyresized ( resource $dst_image , resource $src_image , int $dst_x , int $dst_y , int $src_x , int $src_y , int $dst_w , int $dst_h , int $src_w , int $src_h ) This is what I want to do: I have an image that's 600x1000px in size, and I want to create a thumb that's 100x100px after resizing that image to 300x500px, the x coordinate for the top left point of the thumb square should be at 100(src x) and 120(src y). According to what I understand from the manual, the command should be $dst_image = imagecreatetruecolor(100,100); $src_image = imagecreatefromjpeg('/home/sandbox/imagetoresize.jpg'); imagecopyresized ($dst_image, $src_image, 0, 0, 100, 120, **300 , 500 , 600 , 1000** ) It is cropping the image just fine, but it isn't resizing it correctly. I never got it to match what I see in my image editor (the GIMP). What am I doing wrong? I confirmed that all the numbers are correct, but it's always shifted up or down no matter what I do. Your help would really be appreciated!

    hello! I am using php and i have written codes to allow a user upload a file. For testing purposes, i have saved the file to D:/final/temp/test.xls. Then i generate another file and save it to the same location. This file can be downloaded by the user. But if an actual user would be using my application, where should the location point to?   • "digg" button and encoded url :S

    Hi! I wrote a php site (it's still a prototype) and i placed a "Digg" button. Placing the button was easy but.... Official manual says "url has to be encoded". I did that with urlencode(). After urlencode, my url looks like this: http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mysite.com%2Fen%2Fredirect.php%3Fl%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.othersite.rs%2FNews%2FWorld%2F227040%2FRusia-Airplane-crashed%26N%3DRusia%3A+Airplane+crashed So far, so good but when i want to submit that url to digg, it is recognized as invalid url: http://www.mysite.com/en/redirect.php?l=http://www.othersite.rs/News/World/227040/Rusia-Airplane-crashed&N=Rusia:+Airplane crashed If i place a "+" between "Airplane" and "crashed" (mere end of a link), then digg recognize it without any problems! Please help, this bizare problem is killing my braincells! P.S. for purpose of this answer urls are changed (nonexisting) because, in original, non-english sites are involved P.S.S.   • @Resource annotated member not injected - bad code or bug?

    I am using an @Resource annotation in a class instantiated in a ServletContextListener's contextInitialized(...) method, but the member is always null. Here's my sample code. Listener: public void contextInitialized(ServletContextEvent sce) { System.err.println("In contextInitialised"); new ResourceListenerTargetTest().executeMe(); } ResourceListenerTargetTest: @Resource(name="MyJDBCResource") private DataSource source; public void executeMe() { /*try { InitialContext ictx = new InitialContext(); source = (DataSource)ictx.lookup("java:comp/env/MyJDBCResource"); } catch (NamingException e) { e.printStackTrace(); }*/ System.err.println("source is " + source); } If I switch the comments and run the manual resource lookup, it works fine. Should the @Resource annotation work like this, when used in a contextInitalized method? Appserver is WAS 7.0.0.5, if it should work then I guess it's a bug? Can anyone confirm?

    I am querying an API using SimpleXML which will occasionally fail for reasons unknown. I would like to have the script retry up to 5 times. How can I do this? I assume it has something to do with wrapping the object in a try/catch, but I'm not very experienced with this -- have tried to read the manual on exception handling but am still at a loss.   • XML and .NET: How to replace specific node with many other ones loaded from raw xml data

    Let's suppose we have an element like this one in the main xml file: <group name="gr1" filename="groups/gr1.xml"/>. The second file gr1.xml contains something like this: <item name="i1">Item one</item> <item name="i2">Item two</item> <item name="i3">Item three</item> Note that there is no XML declaration in gr1.xml, just plain items without single parent node. So… Which is the best way to replace <group/> with its <item/>s? I have already tried some things like manual enclosing of gr1.xml content into a single node with XML declaration and loading it into XmlDocument, but it doesn't look like a good solution.

  • Symfony sfMail not delivering emails

  • Mysql replace() function, help with query (what chars do I escape?)

    I am trying to update an old cms where images were stored in /images/editor/, they are now stored in a bucket on amazon s3. I'm trying to update the database using mysql replace. I've done this in the past with replacing simple words, but now Mysql is reporting an error, I suspect because this is more than a simple word: UPDATE contents SET desc = replace(desc, '/images/editor/', 'http://s3.amazonaws.com/my_bucket/editor/') Do I need to escape the : or slashes? I've tried escaping it with a '\' to no avail. Can someone get me pointed in the right direction? Thanks!     M2Crypto.X509.X509 objects have a verify(pkey) method, which provide a means of testing that a given certificate does in fact sign a specified key. This is a good and useful thing -- except that sometimes the certificate I want to verify in this way is invalid without the use of an intermediate certificate, which this API does not appear to allow a way to specify. Is there an alternate means of validating a certificate / private key pair which will work even when the certificate is unable to stand alone?

  • RODBC sqlSave and column names

    I've a question about using sqlSave. How maps RODBC data in the data frame to the database table columns? If I've a table with columns X and Y and a data frame with columns X and Y, RODBC puts X into X and Y into Y (I found out by trail-and-error). But can I explicitly tell R how to map data.frame columns to database table columns, like put A in X and B in Y. I'm rather new to R and think the RODBC manual is a bit cryptic. Nor can I find an example on the internet.

    I am using spring mvc in which i convert the arraylist into json string. I have one object 1) results. My output from spring looks like this: { "data":"[{\"userName\":\"test1\",\"firstName\":\"test\",\"lastName\":\"user\"}, {\"userName\":\"test2\",\"firstName\":\"test1\",\"lastName\":\"user1\"}]", } I get output as null when i do '$.parseJSON' with this output. When i tried testing only with data object it works fine Any help would be great.

    Hello, I'm testing my App and in a very simple view, each time a tap on a UITableView row, my allocation overall bytes get higher and higher and never go downs. I don't have any special code there, so I created a new project from scratch with a very simple view, force one section and just three rows. In the didSelectRowAtIndexPath code do nothing, and fire it with instruments and memory allocation and, the memory goes up with every cell selection ...     Hi, I'm using Luntbuild with Subversion and would like to have our svn tagging environment specific (dev, testing, etc.) and I'm wondering if there's a way to use a variable in the VCS Adapters section. I'm looking for something like this: Directory for tags: tags/Builds/${env}/Service Where ${env} is a variable I can set in the Luntbuild builders section or elsewhere.   • How to have favicon / icon set when bookmarklet dragged to toolbar?

    I've made myself a bookmarklet, and it functions just fine, but when added to a toolbar in Opera or Firefox, it just takes on the default bookmark icon for the browser (a globe and a star, respectively). My site has a favicon, and the window, tab and even [site] bookmark uses the favicon I've specified. Just not my bookmarklet. How can I code my site or bookmarklet so that the bookmarklet gets the favicon, too? I'm aware of various manual hackery techniques users can use to set the favicon after the fact, but those are undesirable solutions.

  • TortoiseMerge: is there a way to hide deleted lines in the merge window

    Hello, I am attempting to merge a large quantity of files. Several of these files are in conflict and TortoiseMerge is the tool of choice. When I view the code in the "merged" windows it shows me all the code that was deleted and added as well as ??? for code that is in-conflict. I am not really sure why it shows me the deleted code, but I do know that I don't want to see it. Seeing lines of code that were removed in a window that is "the results" doesn't make any sense; and, it makes it harder to read the. Is there a way to hide the deleted code in that "results" window so only the text that is actually going to be in the file, shows up? I have read the manual (cursively) and I didn't see anything in there that indicated how to accomplish this (seemingly insignificant) task.

  • Abstract classes and Pod::Coverage

    I've recently started to try to use Dist::Zilla for maintaining Path::Class. I added the [PodCoverageTests] plugin, and it's reporting some failures in the Path::Class::Entity class, which is the abstract base class for Path::Class::File and Path::Class::Dir. What I'd like is some way to tell the testing code that Entity doesn't need docs, but its two derived classes do - even though the methods are only defined in the parent class. Anyone know some way to do that?
