  • How to use accessors within the same class in Objective C?

    Hi, I have a few properties defined in my header file like so @property (assign) bool connectivity_N; @property (assign) bool isConnected_N; In my implementation file I have an init and the synthesized properties like so @implementation Map @synthesize connectivity_N; @synthesize isConnected_N; a init to set the initial values like so -(id) init { if( (self=[super init]) ) { //initialise default properties self.connectivity_N=NO; self.isConnected_N=NO; } return self; } I'm running into an error that states Error: accessing unknown 'connectivity_N' class method. In this public method within the class +(bool) isConnectable:(directions) theDirection{ bool isTheDirectionConnectable= NO; switch (theDirection) { case north: isTheDirectionConnectable= self.connectivity_N; break; I'm not sure why is this so as I'm trying to grab the value of the property. According to the apple developer documentation "The default names for the getter and setter methods associated with a property are propertyName and setPropertyName: respectively—for example, given a property “foo”, the accessors would be foo and setFoo:" That has given me a clue that I've done something wrong here, I'm fairly new to objective C so would appreciate anyone who spends the time to explain this to me. I need to calculate the NSTimeInterval between the two dates in class 2. But I could not do it. I could not access date1 in this class. It is giving error as (date2 undeclared).     Is there a way to know when the index on uitableview is actually used? I can’t find any methods in the Apple documentation, but I was wondering if anyone else knows anything. I would basically like to make an animation in my table view that changes depending on what section is selected in the index, and I have no idea how to do this without accessing the table view index.     In my code I crated two UIView View1 and View2 out of which View2 rotates on finger touch using CGAffineTransform and View1 is drawn like Arrow shaped (triangle) using CGContext. The View1 is steady view (fixed) which Points (shown directed Up) to the Surface of View2 , So I want to detect the View2 surface points when it stopped rotation and appears in front of the view1. How can I made this possible to detect the UIView Surface when it appears in front of another UIView?

  • Android: Prompt user to save changes when Back button is pressed

    I have an activity that contains several user editable items (an EditText field, RatingBar, etc). I'd like to prompt the user if the back/home button is pressed and changes have been made that have not yet been saved. After reading through the android documentation, it seems like this piece of code should go in the onPause method. I've tried putting an AlertDialog in the onPause however the dialog gets shown and then immediately tears down because nothing is there to block the pause from completing. Now, I need to display this widget inside of a class that extends the activity class in Android. Let me show some code. For some reason, Urban Airship is making each character of the string into its own tag. I've tried to substitute the - for a string neg with the same results. What's wrong?

  • Android - Fill Layout with Buttons

    Just a quick question about how you would go about implementing this. I want there to be buttons at the bottom of the screen, but if the screen size is larger, more buttons would be added. For example, at a small screen size, there might be 4-5 buttons at the bottom, but if you ran it on a tablet or something similar, there would be maybe 20 buttons. Any suggestions? It can't scroll either, it just has to dynamically fill the layout with buttons. Thanks.

It is animated, but it doesn't animated when I check...     I was expecting to find that in the NSAttributeDescription class, but only the default value is there. Behind the scene I tought a validationPredicate was created but trying to reach it using NSDictionary* dico= [[myManagedObject entity] propertiesByName]; NSAttributeDescription* attributeDescription=[dico objectForKey:attributeKey]; for (NSString* string in [attributeDescription validationWarnings]) just get me nowhere, no validationWarnings, no validationPredicates... any thoughts on this ? Edit1: It seems that getting the entity straight from the managedObject doesn't give you the full picture. Getting the Entity from the NSManagedObjectModel permits to reach the validationWarnings & validationPredicates...
