  • Why is Windows Update trying to install an update I don't need?

    I have a Windows 7 system that currently has a single update pending: Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems If I try to install the update, Windows Update will: Create a restore point Fail with the error: Code 9C48 Windows Update encountered an error. The event log for the event reads: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems. If you search the web for that error, there are many other people with the exact same issue. Sadly, I am unable to apply the proposed solutions to my case, because I just installed this system. There is nothing on it, except Windows 7. I installed the system and ran through the updates. I also did the exact same process with this machine several times over the past few days due to a long-term test we just started. I didn't have any problems with any Windows Update on the previous installation runs and I know I didn't do anything different this time because I followed the installation procedures instructions which are to be used during the test. How did this happen and how do I solve it? Further Investigation So, as I always like to do, I ran the update again while running Process Monitor and dug up further details. WindowsUpdate.log First of all, there is a Windows Update log file located at C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log which I didn't know about.     Hi all, I recently discovered the vimsvc/license command in vmware-vim-cmd and was trying to use that to automatically add my license key to a fresh vmware installation. vmware-vim-cmd -H hostip -O portnumber vimsvc/license --source file '/path/to/plaintext-file-that-contains-my-license-key.txt' plaintext-file-that-contains-my-license-key.txt contains my key in XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX format, I've also tried it with an extra carriage return at the end. Adding the key that way doesn't work, however. It's kinda silly to require a license to be able to add a license, don't you think? ;-) So how do I go about and add the key via script?     I have Sun Grid Engine set up (version 6.2u5) on a Ubuntu 10.10 server with 8 cores. In order to be able to reserve multiple slots, I have a parallel environment (PE) set up like this: pe_name serial slots 999 user_lists NONE xuser_lists NONE start_proc_args /bin/true stop_proc_args /bin/true allocation_rule $pe_slots control_slaves FALSE job_is_first_task TRUE urgency_slots min accounting_summary FALSE This is associated with the all.q on the server in question (let's call the server A). However, when I submit a job that uses 4 threads with e.g. qsub -q all.q@A -pe serial 4 mycmd.sh, it never gets scheduled, and I get the following reasoning from qstat: cannot run in PE "serial" because it only offers 0 slots Why is SGE saying "serial" only offers 0 slots, since there are 8 slots available on the server I specified (server A)? I don't want to rely on obfuscated file id's (giving a photo a UUID of a long number) and count on that being hidden in my media folder. How would I store a photo securely on disk in my database and only stream it out to an authenticated session?

I have to update these weights very often, several thousand times per learning session. Is FP still applicable here? I mean in fp we can't modify variables and only able to return new variables not changing previous values. Does this mean I have to recreate whole network on every weight update?

    I want to publish a post to user's wall..for this first i am making user to log in and getting the session id also...but in order to publish i need the user to grant me publish_stream permission..so immmediately after i am obtaining auth_token by capturing url of the login success screen, i am making call to http://www.facebook.com/connect/prompt%5Fpermissions.php? with "api_key","ext_perm","display" as parameteres..but when the above url is redirected and displayed on BrowserField i am seeing "Incompatible web browser " instead of the permission granting dialog or popup..i will be greatful if anyone can help...thanx a lot

The statement is refused with an error if the client does not have that privilege. Can I enable/disable general log without restarting MySQL?

  • Rundeck get verbose output of command executing on node

    I have Rundeck executing a remote script, which is in python is using print statements to return output normally such as: $ python mytest.py PASS: Condition 1 passed PASS: Condition 2 passed PASS: and so on... When I run this via Rundeck, however, it doesn't show me the same print generated outputs as above.
