    So I am having a very difficult time finding a solution to this problem. Is there any way that I can inherit macros from another project. For example, for the post build I would like to use the macro for the RemoteMachine address that is located in one project in all the other projects. I was thinking something like (ProjectContainingMacro.$RemoteMachine) ... does anyone have any suggestions?

    I have a class that contains a function that calls create thread, and needs to pass itself (this) as a parameter: DWORD threadId; HANDLE h = CreateThread( NULL, 0, runThread, this, 0, &threadId); My runThread definition is as follows: DWORD WINAPI runThread(LPVOID args) { Obj *t = (Obj*)args; t->funct(); return 0; } Unfortunately, the object t that I get in runThread() gets garbage. My Obj class has a function pointer attribute. Could that be the problem? class Obj{ void(*funct)(); and in the constructor: Obj(void(*f)()) { funct = f; } where is my mistake? The function pointer, the createThread itself, or type-casting? I tried whatever I could think of.

    Greetings. I'm trying to create a windows form application that manipulates data from several tables stored on a SQL server. 1) What's the best way to store the data locally, while the application is running? I had a previous program that only modified one table, and that was set up to use a datagridview. However, as I don't necessarily want to view all the tables, I am looking for another way to store the data retrieved by the SELECT * FROM ... query. 2) Is it better to load the tables, make changes within the C# application, and then update the modified tables at the end, or simply perform all operations on the database, remotely (retrieving the tables each time they are needed)?     I found this code that replaces a string in a text file. But, I am trying to make it so that it replaces several strings in a text file. My.Computer.FileSystem.WriteAllText("C:\windows\PrinterList2.txt", My.Computer.FileSystem.ReadAllText("C:\windows\PrinterList.txt").Replace("IT", "ADM-IT"), False) For example, I need it to replace "IT" with "ADM-IT" and "AR" with "ADM-AR" and possibly a hundred or so more. How can I get it to loop to do them all? Running this line of code over and over just overwrites the file with the last item for replacement. Thanks in advance.

    Hello, I created install script that will install SQL Server 2008 R2 on windows XP SP3, windows vista and windows 7. One of the command that i used in the installation is for silent installation of SQL Server 2008 R2. When i install it on windows XP everything works just fine but when i try to install it on Windows 7 i get an error. What am I doing wrong?     I am upgrading a SAP Java instance and am getting the error shown in the log below. There are not backup profile files in the profiles directory. The string _u does not exist in the default, start or instance profile for instance SCS01. Please can you suggest what the issue might be?   • mod_jk problem: Tomcat is probably not started or is listening on the wrong port

    Hi, I am running some application on Tomcat 6.0.26. There is Apache in front of web server talking to it over mod_jk. Every few hours when I try to access application browser simply spins, and no content is retrieved.     In our small office we are currently running a standalone tower server with WS 2008 R2, SQL Express and IIS. This server is going to be decommissioned and scrapped as its old and very noisy. We are going to purchase a new server with WS 2012 Standard and a heap of ram. It will still be a standalone server so it will be a domain controller, have SQL Express and IIS installed. We intend to install the hyper-v role and host a second virtual server to distribute the load. We are a small company and have only 15 staff members so its not a huge load on the server. Can a single server handle this type of installation, we don't want to purchase two servers. If so how should it be configured with regard to which software packages should be virtualized(if any). Redundancy is not a huge issue for us.

Maybe this is not the best choice from those available in Red Hat. Anyone have any recommendations that would speed up the process? The partition's mount options are sync,dirsync 1 2. Is there a way to optimize this since it's solely used for rsnapshot? Of course, reasoning would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello. I have just installed Microsoft SQL Express from here: http://www.microsoft.com/Sqlserver/2005/en/us/express-down.aspx I need it because an example of some code I have uses it. My question is: How do I start using it? Which port it opens by default. All I have after installing it is this: I'm not asking for a full tutorial on how to admin MSSql, just a hint on what to do next. I have downloaded and tested in the past Oracle XE and test it with SQuirreL SQL client with out problems.

I already have MS SQL Server Express 2008 installed and all I want to do is to install the SP1 however I get following error message even though all features are selected, it still tells me to select one or more features: Also just for information, when I open the SQL Server Configuration Manager to manage my SQL Server Services, the following error message is displayed: If anyone who has faced this and has a solution then please let me know, as my aim is to install management studio, but for that I must have SP1 installed at least, and I'm stuck at that point.   • How reduce size of PPT 2010 Notes Pages PDFs?

    I have a PPT presentation of about 400 slides that I periodically update and publish as PDF. The view I publish is the Notes Pages. This worked fine for several years, during which time I was using PPT 2002. I recently upgraded to PPT 2010, and now I find that the PDFs I create are about 25 times bigger than they used to be, and the text in the slides part of the Notes Pages is no longer selectable in Acrobat. According to Why does Powerpoint 2010 print notes pages to PDF as raster images? , the problem is that PPT 2010 is rendering the slides' content as images, which is not what earlier versions of PPT did. The solution offered in that discussion involves Office Automation and VBA, neither of which I know anything about, and it's not clear whether that approach solves the problem of the text in the slides not being selectable in the PDF. Isn't there a simple way to get PPT 2010 to print Notes Pages to PDF the way it did in PPT 2002?

    I'd like to deploy Office 2010 on Citrix servers, but i can't enable form scripting support. With outlook 2007, it was solved by adding Outlvbs.dll in the office directory, and running msiexec /i {<Outlook GUID>} ADDLOCAL=OutlookVBScript /qb But it seems this does not work anymore with Outlook 2010, I get the following error : Error 2711. An internal error has occured. (OutlookVBScript). I don't get much help from microsoft support site, as there isn't a lot of informations on office 2010 yet. Have anyone succeded in installing and using outlook 2010 with form scripting in a citrix environment ?

I will be running some sort of virtualization (prob VirtualBox) to test / learn Windows Server administration. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have 4GB of RAM and a 7200 RPM SATA hard disk. The express card will read at 115MB/s and write at 65MB/s. So how best to use this new disk? Readyboost, relocate pagefile, store VM disks, mix / match?
