• Firefox or IE crashes when I try to print

  When I try to print a web page in either IE or Firefox - it just crashes? Any ideas? Printer works with other applications fine - like Word etc. It's only browser related for some strange reason. I am running XP SP3 - the printer is a Canon Laser Shot LBP 1120

  In all the forums web pages the download links are given inside the [code] braces that looks like text area with white background. When the download links are in large numbers then there are scroll bars. I find it difficult to scroll up and then select and then drag down to select all links. Is there any way to select all , when I click on select all on right click then it usually selects the text from whole page not from that code segment

Is there a way I can host a website without a domain name, or to register a domain name for free? If I can't host a web page without a domain name, can I just access the files on the server through the internet some how without a domain name? Thanks for any insight!

  Although a good tool OpenDB hasn't been updated since 12/2008. The source code shows some recent activity, but still sparse at best. Anyone know of good web based cataloging alternatives? I'm looking to catalog the 500+ software CD's we have. Also, as a side note. OpenDB will handle software, but you have to create a custom media type, which is a PAIN!!!

• What file or directory is unique to Plesk and unlikely to change in the future?

  I am writing a program that needs to be able to detect the presence of various web hosting control panels. I don't use Plesk, or have access to a server running Plesk, so I am unable to ascertain what file or directory I could test for to reliably conclude that the system is running Plesk. What file or directory indicates "Yes, this has Plesk installed" that is unlikely to ever change in the future, but would be present on all versions of Plesk out in the wild? Thanks in advance :)

They used to run and end without abending, but now they open and stay open and I have to setup the task to quit them by force before their next scheduled run.   I have purchased a domain name for my blog, and I'd like to use [email protected] as my email address. I have a Linux (Ubuntu 13.10) VPS that's running the LAMP stack. I would like to install some software that would include spam filtering, email delivery, etc, but would be simpler to maintain than something like this (possibly hundreds of steps, and a lot of maintenance headaches too I suppose). • Do I need a hardware firewall for Win 2003?

  We have had a Win 2003 server at a co-lo for a while. It is used as a web server and has a very cheap hardware firewall between it and the internet. Ports 3389 and 80 are the only ones forwarded to the server. I am doing some upgrading and wondering if I really need the firewall. Are there any drawbacks to just using the Win 2003 built in firewall to make sure only traffic on 3389 and 80 get through?

When I click a link, the link is something like: a.com/something/blah.php Then moments later the url in the browser changes to something like: a.com/somethingelse/blahblah.php Is there a way with any browser (especially firefox) to have it ask me before redirecting? I have tried the 'ask me before redirecting' feature in firefox but in this case since it redirects to its own site it does not seem to work.

  From time to time I want to copy and paste a portion of a web document (viewed in both IE Explorer 7 and 8) into MS Word 2007. The selected text copies and pastes fine, but I am left with only place holders for the images (png). Right clicking the image and clicking copy, then pasting into MS Word doesn't work either.   We're building a web service that will be deployed on an IIS 7.5 farm, and secured through SSL, and also requiring client certs that will be mapped to Active Directory accounts. My understanding is that the server cert needs to be generated for a specific server. If that is the case then we will need a server cert for each server in the farm. Because the farm will be load balanced, how do we generate client certs that will work with any of the servers in the farm?
