Hi Guys, I'm building a part of a system where the user can define "views" from a mysql database. I want some way of generating simple HTML tables/reports from the data, but not just plain output of sql queries- simple joins probably isn't enough. Any ideas?

trying to use mod_proxy with httpd and tomcat

I been trying to use mod_proxy with httpd and tomcat... I have on VirtualBox running Scientific Linux which has httpd and tomcat 6 on it.. I made two nodes of tomcat6. How to convert an CHM file into a single HTML file?

I have tried many different CHM-to-HTML utilities, but I am having a difficult time finding one that is able to produce a single HTML file. I can decompile a CHM file using hh.exe, but I don't know how to easily merge the resulting files into a single HTML file, all while preserving the correct order of pages. Is there a free tool which can do this? If not, how can I merge the HTML files in order?

Problem merging similar XML files with XSL

I have two documents that I need to merge, that happen in a way that I don't seem to be able to find covered in other examples. Namely, that it needs to match not only on a node's attribute at one level, but also on the value of an attribute a node level below that, to get that node's value. Can I join two tables whereby the joined table is sorted by a certain column?

I'm not much of a database guru so I need some help on a query I'm working on. In my photo community project I want to richly visualize tags by not only showing the tag name and counter (# of images inside them), I also want to show a thumb of the most popular image inside the tag (most karma). The table setup is as follow: Image table holds basic image metadata, important is the karma field Imagefile table holds multiple entries per image, one for each format Tag table holds tag definitions Tag_map table maps tags to images In my usual trial and error query authoring I have come this far: SELECT * FROM (SELECT tag.name, tag.id, COUNT(tag_map.tag_id) as cnt FROM tag INNER JOIN tag_map ON (tag.id = tag_map.tag_id) INNER JOIN image ON tag_map.image_id = image.id INNER JOIN imagefile on image.id = imagefile.image_id WHERE imagefile.type = 'smallthumb' GROUP BY tag.name ORDER BY cnt DESC) as T1 WHERE cnt > 0 ORDER BY cnt DESC [column clause of inner query snipped for the sake of simplicity] This query gives me somewhat what I need. The outer query makes sure that only tags are returned for which there is at least 1 image. The inner query returns the tag details, such as its name, count (# of images) and the thumb. In addition, I can sort the inner query as I want (by most images, alphabetically, most recent, etc) So far so good. The problem however is that this query does not match the most popular image (most karma) of the tag, it seems to always take the most recent one in the tag. How can I make sure that the most popular image is matched with the tag?

I am currently programming a Visual C# service to receive emails from various sources then I take certain info and organize it in a database using Regex to retrieve the deferent cell values (such as header, body, problem, cost, etc.etc.). Override HTML Anchor Link Target inside iFrame

We're calling an ad from an ad network to dynamically load an add using JavaScript. It makes an iFrame with the actual ad in it, a picture wrapped in an anchor tag with the target=_top. Is there a way from our page to change its target and capture the attempt to change our page. Also, our page is loaded in a C#.net program using a WebControl (I forget the actual control being used since it was a while ago). We can change the C# code but we really prefer not to because then we'd have to test it and everything. Is there a way to do this with JavaScript or JQuery?

How to let short content pages reach the bottom of the browser window and then a footer should appea

In this case, I've developed a CSS code for this web application ..and sometimes the resulting data is too small and the footer of the site appears in the middle of the page and looks odd. I'd like to push that whitespace of the background to the browser's bottom and then followed by a footer. AND if the page is long, that text won't get overlapped by the footer. Can someone help me out with this code right here? Render tooltip on disabled HTML Button.

I have a HTML button. I have tried to render a tooltip on it based on the "title" attribute of the button and it doesn't render. Mainly because it's disabled. I then tried wrapping the button in a span and setting the "title" attribute of the span. Hovering over the button that is wrapped in the span still has no effect. The tooltip will render on any other part of the span that is not part of the button tag. Like if i put some text in the span as well as the button, hovering over the text produces the tooltip, but if you hover over the button it will not render. So: how can I display a tooltip for a disabled button?

I have a fairly large CSS file developed by my web designer. There are, of course, plenty of IDs, classes and tag properties assigned therein. Are there any tools to automatically generate HTML based on a CSS source file? For example: #basicInfoHead{ background:url(../images/leftHeaders.jpg) no-repeat; margin-left: 0px; width:185px; height:28px; } #basicInfoHead span{ float: left; } Would generate <div id=basicInfoHead><span>#basicInfoHead span</span></div> Etc etc. From there, I could preview the generated code in my browser, and see what each of the individual (primarily text) styles would look like. Unable to add a row to a HTML table dynamically

I am unable to add a row to a HTML table dynamically. I am using IHtmlDocument2 to create tr and td elements and IHtmlElement to set attributes and IHtmlDomNode to add created node to the document hierarchy. Please anyone help me to solve the above problem. I am traversing through the document when I get the tr tag I have created the tr element using CreateElement, then I use InsertBefore to insert it into the document but it's not working. I've tried for one week but didn't get anything working.

I've tested this in an earlier version of IE and also in Chrome and it works as expected. The functions called from the anchor tags are working as expected. Creating a dropdown with an onChange event in html works in IE11. Has anyone come across anything like this in IE11? I have checked the console and it is showing no errors.

How to override HTML <FONT SIZE="2"> with CSS

I was given the task of doing a facelift to our current site. I am moderately well versed in CSS so I am converting the bazillion tags to CSS styles and deleting about 2 times that many that were simply not necessary. It's all going well until I run into a certain product page that is only a wrapper into which other HTML files are pulled by a server.execute(filename) command. (we're using aspx for the wrapper page.) There are almost 700 of these pages and they all are cursed with this and that. Past editors with FrontPage that only know how to drag pretty things on the screen. Anyway, I am wondering if there is a way to use CSS in the wrapper page to override the tag behavior so I can make it something sane that fits with the rest of my pages. I'd even be open to something JavaScript that would remove the tags, but that's my less preferred solution. Thanks!

How do I control the direction of the scroll on my coda slider?

Hello, I have a coda slider and am unable to determine the direction of the scroll. I have 3 panels that I want to scroll left to right. Sometimes it scrolls left to right, sometimes up and down, and sometimes horizontally. How do I lock it down to go the direction I want? HTML 5 Canvas - Get pixel data for a path

I wonder if is there any way I can get pixel data for the currently drawn path in the canvas tag. I can calculate the pixel data on my own when drawing simple shapes like square or a line, but things get messy with more complicated shapes like ellipse or even a simple circle. The reason i'm asking this is because I'm working on a web application which involves sending canvas pixels data to the server when I add a path to the canvas. The server needs to keep it's own copy of the entire canvas, and I really don't want to send the ENTIRE canvas image every single change, but only the delta for efficiency reasons... Thanks.

Using a Resource as an Attribute to a HTML Element in ASP.net

I would like to have this piece of code in my .aspx file: <input class="ms-ButtonHeightWidth" type="button" name="BtnOK" id="Button2" value="Close" onclick="javascript:HandleOKButtonClick()" accesskey="<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>" /> Unfortunately, ASP.net doesn't seem to like that: An error occurred during the processing of /_layouts/MyPage/Info.aspx. Literal expressions like '<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>' are not allowed. Use <asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>" /> instead That doesn't work in this situation as that would mean nesting the Literal between the quotes of the accesskey attribute, which causes a "The tag contains duplicate 'ID' attributes" error. Is there a way to use a string from a resource without having to change the input to an asp:Button? I guess there has to be a way using <%=, but I don't know how I would address the resource itself?

Writing html tags in GWT client side

I have this code in my gwt client side: String out = result.getConsoleOutput().replaceAll("\n", "<br/>"); transOut.getElement().setInnerText(out); Basically what comes out of consoleoutput() is text from a telnet client and transOut is a HTMLPanel in a UiBinder. I want it to show up pretty so I tried to change all the \n to html , but when it shows up in firefox it looks like this on screen blah blahblah blah.... I am guessing gwt escapes the text somewhere how can I get it to write the real tag.

The server wants to push information to a client or broadcast to all, when an event happens - as opposed to the clients constantly polling the server "just in case". The client then updates a browser page display. How do I do that? (toldya it was a n00b question) Should I have a thread which receives info on a socket and then writes it to a database which the browser display (PHP) can process with an HTML refresh tag, or what? Sorry to sound so dumb.

Hi, I am working on customizing the ajax html editor. I got succeded when i use VS 2008/10 selecting the "Web Site" as the template to create my asp.net application. But the same is not working when i create an asp.net application with Web Applications as the template. The problem i am facing here is, when we try to customize any editor, we will create a custome class "MyCustomeEditor", using which we will create the customized editor on our webforms. This is working fine when i am working with Web Sites. In web application, it is not even trying to identify the control, ie, is not a server tag. If, anyone knows any solution how to troubleshoot this problem, please shread some information on this. Thanks, Kiran

Play local video with an HTML/Javascript based Adobe Air application

I'm trying to add some video playback (that will be used for a tutorial) to my Adobe Air application. I'm not a Flex or Flash developer and my application is HTML/Javascript based, so I'm having trouble with some of the video solutions I've been able to find. Here is one of the examples I've found that is flex based: Playing local files with Air I've looked for a free flash video player that I could just embed. But the only one I've found I was unable to coerce to play files from my Air application directory. I was exited at the prospect of using the HTML5 video tag which I thought Air supported, but that also seems to not work. Can anyone recommend a free flash video player that I can embed? Or a solution that doesn't have to be built completely from flex?
