    I understand that WinCE does not support the above function. However as it has been used in the code I am trying to port to Win CE environment, I am trying to rewrite the function to work in Win CE. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/mobile/GetPrivateProfileString.aspx The code at this link does not work as fstream is not supported. Please let me know how I can modify the above code/ rewrite the code for my purpose.

  • Which platform can we expect one's complement being used there?

    For some questions such as checking whether a number is odd or even, I noted the comment, a & 1 won't work when it is a one's complement machine or when the code is ported to a platform that uses one's complement. Since 30 years ago on the Superboard, TRS-80, Apple II, I haven't seen a system with one's complement. Are there popular systems that use one's complement still, or do we have some cell phone or mobile device that uses one's complement?

    On iPhone, iPod touch and (presumably) iPad, Apple has multi-touch event handling available via JavaScript in Mobile Safari. I know the Nexus One recently added multi-touch support via an update, and I believe webOS is also multi-touch enabled. Do Android 2.1 and/or webOS have access to multi-touch in the browser, or is this currently exclusive to Apple devices?

    I'm using carrier-specific addresses to send email to SMS, which works fine. In reference to the answer of this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1179854/limitations-on-sms-messages-sent-using-free-email-sms-gateways is there any websites or other resources that list the format that is delivered for each carrier. ATT for example delivers the SMS with some added formatting that is not present with T-Mobile. I realize this is not a coding question, but since I can only see this question arising for someone that is creating email to SMS specific applications, it seems relevant to SO.

    Hi I know there's a http://www.upcdatabase.com/ website that allows you to lookup barcodes. This website however does not return anything for thousands of normal household items. I have seen free apps on mobile phones that can do this and list the exact product name along with price comparison. Does anyone know of good websites (even commercial ones) that have a good/reliable database that one could use for lookups?

Because I'm using a GPS device via a Bluetooth connection, I would like to be able to extend the emulator with bluetooth possibilities. Has anyone experience with BT & WTK? according to this article there is no way to do it by default. Any other ideas?

    What HTML APIs are available for touch screen devices (e.g. tablet PCs)? I notice that GMail's iPad interface (and other mobile interfaces) doesn't scroll down in a normal web browser (pretending to be an iPad via a user-agent hack). How can one access this API on a PC? I have a school full of tablet PCs that aren't wonderful in tablet mode due to lack of application support, but there looks to be an increasing number of web-based apps that will fill this gap.

    Hi, In Android 2.2 site (link text it's written: Improved security with the addition of numeric pin or alpha-numeric password options to unlock device. Exchange administrators can enforce password policy across devices But while I'm using N1 with 2.2 and try to connect to my company exchange server it didn't enforce me to set a password, although connecting to the same server from Windows Mobile 6 device enforce this. I know that exchange server is configured to enforce password. Is there anything special the administrator need to do? Thank you, Moshe

    I need a component that will allow me to enter a signature on a Windows Mobile 5 device. I need to integrate it into my .NETCF program. I would prefer it be free (getting budget approval takes so long). (I have seen the "for pay" one by Resco.) I would need to end up storing the signature in a SQL Server database (it has to be able to serialize). If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

I can connect with this modem, but when I put my SIM Card and I type AT command like here: AT: Status "OK" AT+CPIN?: Status "+CPIN: PH-NET PIN" AT+CPIN="xxxx": Status "Error" I don't know why it can't connect with the SIM Card.     When I try to load a wap site with PHP HTTP request from my PC, host of the web site recognizes that I'm sending the request from a PC and redirects me to their actual web site and I can't load the wap site. Is there a way to behave like a mobile browser and prevent this redirection? Although an answer regarding any programming language is ok, a php specific answer will be better.

  • Using same name for Core Data object as a Private Framework Object

    Hi all, I've got a core data-based app for iPhone and I'm getting the following warning: objc[2472]: Class Property is implemented in both /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Notes.framework/Notes and /var/mobile/Applications/B69194FF-448F-48AD-A78D-DDB8935F/AmcCalc.app/AmcCalc. One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined. When I started working on this app back with SDK 3.0 I didn't get this error, so how do I deal with this? Thanks! Bjorn
