  • How can i access my custom webpart in sharepoint foundation 2010?

    Hi, So i just started trying to develop a simple webpart today for a sharepoint foundation i put on a virtual machine. I have no previous experience with sharepoint whatsoever. As i cant run a sharepoint 2010 on my local machine for dev purposes i followed advices in this thread http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepoint2010programming/thread/cda807f6-4edf-4efc-8e9b-4d446356c8ae to able to actually develop something (just the registry bit). I created the simple test web part (writes out "hi"), uploaded it to virtual machine, added it with add-spsolution and install-spsolution in powershell with success. When i do get-solution through powershell on my webpart it says deployed = true. What am i missing from here to get it to actually show up somewhere in the web interface so i can add it to a page?     Hi ! In Python, I have the following example class : class Foo: self._attr = 0 @property def attr(self): return self._attr @attr.setter def attr(self, value): self._attr = value @attr.deleter def attr(self): del self._attr As you can see, I have a simple "private" attribute "_attr" and a property to access it. There is a lot of codes to declare a simple private attribute and I think that it's not respecting the "KISS" philosophy to declare all attributes like that. So, why not declare all my attributes as public attributes if I don't need a particular getter/setter/deleter ? My answer will be : Because the principle of encapsulation (OOP) says otherwise! What is the best way ? Thanks !

  • calling a service layer method to my presentation layer

    Ok I feel really dumb asking this but I seem to be missing something really simple here. I have the following code in a class in my service layer - public Items getItems(String category, float amount, String color, String type) The code reads from a database and returns the results - I plan on placing it in a jframe. Nice and simple. But no matter how I call it from the jframe I get errors in eclipse that the code is wrong - either that their are illegal modifiers or such. So obviously I am calling it completely wrong, so my stupid question is how do you call that method into a jframe? For example - if I try to call it this way: public Items getItems(); I get told that getItems is an illegal parameter. If I call this.. Items getItems(); I am told its undefined

  • How could I insert a string into the response stream anywhere I want?

    There may be an easy way to do this but I can't see it... I created a simple Http Module that starts a timer on the PreRequestHandler and stops the timer on the PostRequestHandler to calculate the time it took the page to load. I then create some simple html and write my results to Response.Write. Since I'm doing this in the PostRequestHandler it's adding my results after the </html> tag. That's fine for testing but I need in a scenario where the page needs to validate. I can't seem to figure out how I could manipulate the Response object to insert my results before the </body> tag. Response.Write and Response.Output.Write don't have that flexibility and I couldn't see a way to work with the Response as a string. Am I missing something easy?

  • Low-overhead way to access the memory space of a traced process?

    Hello all. I'm looking for an efficient way to access(for both read and write operations) the memory space of my ptraced child process. The size of blocks being accessed may vary from several bytes up to several megabytes in size, so using the ptrace call with PTRACE_PEEKDATA and PTRACE_POKEDATA which read only one word at a time and switch context every time they're called seems like a pointless waste of resources. The only one alternative solution I could find, though, was the /proc/<pid>/mem file, but it has long since been made read only. Is there any other (relatively simple) way to do that job? The ideal solution would be to somehow share the address space of my child process with its parent and then use the simple memcpy call to copy data I need in both directions, but I have no clues how to do it and where to begin. Any ideas?

    I use Aptana Studio for my PHP projects. I have not learned it but just used with what I was able to do in it. Many features I still don't know how to use in it. At present, I have a HTML form and I want to write a .php script for the SEND button that it has. It is a submission script for the contact form. I want a simple PHP IDE with which I can execute a single PHP file or work with at least two or three files easily, without much mess. Please suggest a simple alternative to Aptana.

  • C# - Saving a DataGridView to file and loading

    Hello, To start off, what I have is a simple Winforms app, with just a save and load button, and with a datagridview control to hold data. What I am looking to do is input some data into the control, hit the save button, and it save all the data to a file locally on the computer, and when I hit load, it loads the file and populates the control appropriately, keeping all rows, columns, and data the same as when saved. Although it sounds fairly simple to me, I cant seem to figure a good way to save and load the data. Can I get a few pointers or examples to get myself started? Thank you.

  • mod_rewrite - strange [R] behavior

    Hello! I'm doing something very simple with mod_rewrite and it's behaving strange. It's behaving as if I'm using the [R] option, but I'm not. Here's a simple test for a .htaccess file: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^page1$ page2 This should redirect a request for page1 to page2, but leave the URL in the web browser still pointing to page1. That doesn't happen though. It actually switches the URL to page2, as if I were using this code: RewriteRule ^page1$ page2 [R] Why's it doing that? That's not the default behavior. I'm using a pre-configured machine I got for EC2, so it's probably something in the apache configuration I'm not aware of. Googling has been futile. Help? This is Apache 2.12 btw.

    hello im trying to make a simple page with search engine. i read, that if i want to implement autocomplete/autosuggest with form, i have to use ajax. thats ok for me. there are a lot solutions on the intenret, but unfortunetly all of them is the same script :/ and thats fine for me :) but i want to go further. i want to show autosuggest results in table for example below search form. the data is stored in a simple array (eventualy, source mysql) i know that kind of script isnt easy to write, so i ask you to give me a hint or something. trivial solution is use php, but this needs submit button. help, im stuck :)

  • Slide Effect happening too many times

    Hello all, I call this functions on onmouseover and onmouseout for several divs. //Takes effect on divs with id, 62,63,64,65... function slide_it(id){ $('#options_'+id).slideToggle('slow'); } The problem is that if I move my mouse over and then mouse out, then again, mouse over and then mouse out. If I do this several times, the slide effect happens the same number of times I moved my mouse over and out of the div, as expected. But I can't figure out how I can do this once? I can set a variable, but I have several divs that this function is used by and I can't think of a simple way of doing this rather than storing things into an array, but this is messy! I really appreciate any help on this that is simple to implement! Thanks all for any help

    Hi, I've gotten extremely interested into coding trainers (Program that modifies value of a different process) for video games. I've done the simple 'god-mode' and 'unlimited money' things, but I want to do alot more than that. (Simple editing using WriteProcessMemory) There are memory addresses of functions on the internet of the video game I'm working on, and one of functions is like "CreateCar" and I'm wanting to call that function from an external program. My question: How can I call a function from an external process in C/C++, provided the function address, using a process handle or other method. PS: If anyone could link me to tools (I've got debuggers, no need for more..) that help with this sort of thing, that'd be nice.

    Hello, I am trying to figure out the SQL for doing some relatively simple operations on sets of records in a table but I am stuck. Consider a table with multiple rows per item, all identified by a common key. For example: serial model color XX1 A blue XX2 A blue XX3 A green XX5 B red XX6 B blue XX1 B blue What I would for example want to do is: Assuming that all model A rows must have the same color, find the rows which dont. (for example, XX3 is green). Assuming that a given serial number can only point to a single type of model, find out the rows which that does not occur (for example XX1 points both to A and B) These are all simple logically things to do. To abstract it, I want to know how to group things by using a single key (or combination of keys) and then compare the values of those records. Should I use a join on the same table? should i use some sort of array or similar? thanks for your help

    Hello everyone, I want to build a simple single user login "library" in PHP, but I'm facing the following dilemma: how should I store username and password if I'm not using a database? A simple plain text file could be easily read and then the password could be easily decripted so that's not an option. If I create a php file with just <?php $Username= "username"; $Password= "password"; ?> then no one should be able to read it and I could simply include this file where I need it, but I'm not really sure you can't find a better way to do this! So what's, in your opinion, the best solution to this problem (and why)? Thanks

    Hi everyone. I am trying to run the following simple query on a table with 500K records. SELECT COUNT(*) AS impressionCount FROM impression WHERE 0 = 0 AND impressionObjectId1 = 'C69A54B8-B828-E2E4-2319A93011DF4120' AND impressionObjectId2 = '1'; This query is taking 10 seconds to run. I have tried creating individual indexes for the impressionObjectId1 and impressionObjectId2 columns, as well as a composite index using both. The composite worked well for a while, but now it is also slow. Here is my table structure: DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `impression`; CREATE TABLE `impression` ( `impressionId` varchar(50) NOT NULL, `impressionObjectId1` varchar(50) NOT NULL, `impressionObjectId2` varchar(50) default NULL, `impressionStampDate` datetime NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`impressionId`), KEY `IX_object` (`impressionObjectId1`,`impressionObjectId2`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 ROW_FORMAT=DYNAMIC COMMENT='InnoDB free: 191488 kB'; Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Tried tessnet2, but could not get png to work. Don't mind commercial, but not too expensive - maybe about $100. Want something simple to use and preferably with support if needed.   • Send mass emails php (probably a shell question?)

    I've got 80,000 users on my site and i've recently turned away from the forum script i've been using and built something very simple myself that works just as well (the forum script was too bloated and resource intensive for my simple site) The only thing i've lost is the ability to mass email all my members. So i'm looking to come up with a script to do it myself. After looking around (including questions on here) I decided using Swift Mailer would be a good idea. However i've been through all the documentation and can't see how to send say "100 at a time" and i'm not sure how to go about it. To put it simply. I have an admin panel with a form with two inputs "subject" and "message". When I click submit what is the safest way for me to send 80,000 emails without crashing my server or being marked as spam? I'm on quite a beefy dedicated server so don't have the problems associated with shared servers. Thanks in advance for any advice!

  • Javascript, jQuery - how signed actions to just created object?

    I am trying to make simple list with ability to add and delete elements. For now I am working on adding and performing a simple action on each of list elements object (existing and added). Unfortunately I have met some difficulties with that. I am able to modify objects that are created at the beginning, but not one added during "webpage working". First of all my idea was to add AJAX to this, but I don't think it is the easiest way. I think that some time ago (I don't remember where) I read how to make this work, but now I don't know. I would be really glad if someone would help me with this or at least give a link to good explanation of this.     I have set up my table with an index only on done_status(done_status =INT), when I use EXPLAIN SELECT * FROM reminder WHERE done_status=2 i get this back id select_type table type possible_keys key key_len ref rows Extra 1 SIMPLE reminder ALL done_status NULL NULL NULL 5 Using where but when I give this command EXPLAIN SELECT * FROM reminder WHERE done_status=1 that's what I get back: id select_type table type possible_keys key key_len ref rows Extra 1 SIMPLE reminder ref done_status done_status 4 const 2 first time it shows me it uses 5 rows second time 2 rows I don't think the index works, if I understood it right first time it should give me 3 rows. What do I do wrong?
