• Drag drop block edit in place html

  I required to write a small web application that allow customer to select predefined layout template in html and be able to modify it. The application need to allow customer to add block text to pre defined area and images. The block texts need to be able to reorder based on customer need. eg. move up , move down or move to sidebar. THe complete layout will be able to convert to table layout and inline css due to email program doesn't like div & css. • Rails 3 render :partials

  Hi guys. I am migrating my 1.8.7 rails app to rails 3. But I have a problem with a partial: I have the following partial: in my cms controller : @clients = Client.all group = render_to_string :layout = 'layouts/window', :partial = 'clients/index' in my "clients/index" partial: <%= render :partial = 'clients/item', :collection = @clients % This worked great with rails 1.7.8 but with rails 3 only the partial in the index get's rendered!. So, to clarify this, the group variable in the controller doesn't get the html from the layout. Also the weird thing is that the window layout is _window.erb (if I do window.html.erb or just window.erb rails can't find it which is strange). Does anybody know if this behavior is normal for rails 3? thanxs!

• d3 tree - parents having same children

  I've been transitioning my code from JIT to D3, and working with the tree layout. I've replicated http://mbostock.github.com/d3/talk/20111018/tree.html with my tree data, but I wanted to do a little more. In my case I will need to create child nodes that merge back to form a parent at a lower level, which I realize is more of a directed graph structure, but would like the tree to accomodate (i.e. notice that common id's between child nodes should merge). So basically a tree that divides like normal on the way from parents to children, but then also has the ability to bring those children nodes together to be parents (sort of an incestual relationship or something :)). Asks something similar - How to layout a non-tree hierarchy with D3 It sounds like I might be able to use hierarchical edge bundling in conjunction with the tree hierarchy layout, but I haven't seen that done. I might be a little off with that though.

• PyQt signal between QObjects

  I'm trying to make a view and controller in PyQt where the view is emitting a custom signal when a button is clicked, and the controller has one of its methods connected to the emitted signal. It does not work, however. The respond method is not called when I click the button. • JSON is not nested in rails view

  I have a several models in a heirarchy, 1:many at each level. Each class is associated only with the class above it and the one below it, ie: L1 course, L2 unit, L3 unit layout, L4 layout fields, L5 table fields (not in code, but a sibling of layout fields) I am trying to build a JSON response of the entire hierarchy. def show @course = Course.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.json do @course = Course.find(params[:id]) @units = @course.units.all @unit_layouts = UnitLayout.where(:unit_id => @units) @layout_fields = LayoutField.where(:unit_layout_id => @unit_layouts) response = {:course => @course, :units => @units, :unit_layouts => @unit_layouts, :layout_fields => @layout_fields} respond_to do |format| format.json {render :json => response } end end end end The code is bring back the correct values, but the units, unit_layouts and layout_fields are all nested at the same level under course. I would like them to be nested inside their parent.

• Multiple svn projects into one git repository?

  Hi, I have started to use git-svn for some of my work to be able to do local commits. This works great for projects that use standard svn layout. Recently I started working on a Java project that is split into multiple connected modules (20-25), and each module have its own root folder in the same svn repo with its own trunk/branches/tags. svnrepo/ module-1 trunk branches tags module-N trunk branches tags I have cloned each and every module with git svn clone -s /path/to/svnrepo/module[1-N]. The "problem" is that when I want to do git svn rebase on all modules i have to do it N times. I have tried to do git svn clone /path/to/svnrepo/ do avoid doing the rebase operation N times, but that leaves me with a directory layout that is the same as in the svn repo. Is there a way that I can track all the trunks of all modules in one git repo? So that I get a directory layout like this within my git repository: module-1 module-2 module-N

• ExtJS panel does not render properly unless I open Firebug - WTF?

  I have the following ExtJS Panel embedded in another Panel, which then resides in a TabPanel and the TabPanel is in a FormPanel. With that being said, these start/end date fields are initially displayed in very small cells -- the cells are so small that I see horizontal scroll bars. Now here's the weird part: if I open Firebug, everything pops into place. Does anyone know what's going on? • Android TranslateAnimation resets after animation

  I'm creating something like a SlideDrawer but with most customization, basically the thing is working but the animation is flickering at the end. To further explain, I got an TranslateAnimation then after this animation it returns back to the original position, if i set setFillAfter then the buttons inside the layout stops working. If i listen to onAnimationEnd and set other's layout to View.GONE the layout fickers. Judging from it is that on animation end, the view goes back to original position before the View.GONE is called. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks

  So what I want to do is, in my main layout, have a menu for logged in users, and a different for anon users. THe layout will be used on every page, so I'm not sure how to do this, as I've seen, the Auth Component can only be used in the controller, this would be nice if I had to do this in only one view, but for every view, how can I do this?   I just finished the "15 min Blog Post tutorial" included in the documentation for cakephp. I was asked for another tutorial to change the layout for first tutorial. However, I am fairly new to MVC programming/Cakephp and I have no real clue how to do so. Well, I know I need "default.ctp" placed in app/views/layouts/ and I presume I need to include to include my data? . . . I am really at a loss of what to do. I set up my default.ctp as I mentioned above, but when I go to localhost:9999/posts the layout is still the same. I guess I need to include a stylesheet (and if so, where?) I guess if someone can point me in the right direction to a beginner's guide to layout styling or how to use it I would greatly appreciate any help.

• Positioning child panels using FlowLayout

  I have two panels: main_panel child_panel The main_panel layout is set using: main_panel.setLayout(flowlayout) I then added child_panel to main_panel: main_panel.add(child_panel) The child_panel gets added to main_panel but its position is at the cross-section of horizontal midpoint and top vertical section of screen. I want child_panel to be at the top left corner, something I could have done by using child_panel.setlocation(a,b) method, if I have set the layout of main_panel as null. I have used FlowLayout here because I want components in the JPanel to keep adjusting with the size of JFrame. So can I add child_panel to main_panel at the exact location I want, even if I set the Layout of main_panel as not null?

• GWT 100% height panel with scroll

  Hello! Could anyone help me make normal layout in GWT. I need a main panel which: fills all the browser space (100% height); if being collapsed too much shows scroll bars (autoscroll). When I use old layout (RootPanel, VerticalPanel) I have scroll, but can't get 100% height. When I use new layout (RootLayoutPanel, DockLayoutPanel) I get 100% height, but I don't get any scroll. And also I have some troubles in IE. Is there any sample showing how to achieve both goals? Thanks in advance!

• Android save Checkbox State in ListView with Cursor Adapter

  I cant find a way to save the checkbox state when using a Cursor adapter. Everything else works fine but if i click on a checkbox it is repeated when it is recycled. Ive seen examples using array adapters but because of my lack of experience im finding it hard to translate it into using a cursor adapter. Could someone give me an example of how to go about it. • Kubuntu desktop icons disappearing on reboot

  I recently installed Kubuntu 14.04. I have the desktop layout set as Folder View and everything is fine, but sometimes when I reboot it shows this: So all I can see is a scrollbar and no icons. If I go to Desktop Settings and switch to another layout and then switch again to Folder View everything is fine and the icons (and the "normal" desktop) reappear. This happens often when I reboot but not every time. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

  I was wondering if anyone could elaborate any further on something that's been bugging me. In DirectX9 the main supported back buffer formats were D3DFMT_X8R8B8G8 and D3DFMT_A8R8G8B8 (Both being BGRA in layout). http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb174314(v=vs.85).aspx With the initial version of DirectX10 their was no support for BGRA and all the textbooks and online tutorials recommend DXGI_FORMAT_R8G8B8A8_UNORM (being RGBA in layout). Now with DirectX11 BGRA is supported again and it seems as if microsoft recommends using a BGRA format as the back buffer format. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh465096.aspx Are there any suggestions or are there performance implications of using one or the other? (I assume not as obviously by specifying the format of the underlying resource the runtime will handle what bits your passing through and than infer how to utilise them based on the format.)
