    hi, I would like to detect the direction of the current typing (input) language. I may detect the language by means of "GetKeyboardLayout", but then I'll have to check if it equals to Arabic or Hebrew and so on, is there any way just to detect the direction, i.e. left to right or right to left. thanks! mike.

We're using the time zone selector, which is fine, but I'd like to set the default value to something that it likely the user's current time zone. Is there an easy way, either on the server or using JavaScript, to set the time zone selector to the time zone the user is currently in?

    Hey. I'm trying to get the iPhone to display dates formatted by an NSDateFormatter in the current device language. I have tried setLocale:[NSLocale currentLocale], but that only returns 5 instead of May (or Mai, as I want it to be). Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :)

    Is there a way to make ibuffer-visit-buffer behave like ido-switch-to-buffer (with raise-frame option)? If there is a window/frame containing the buffer I'd like emacs to take me there rather than opening the same buffer in the current window. I guess switch-to-buffer is remapped to ido-switch-to-buffer when ido-mode is turned on, so would doing something like that work in this case (remap ibuffer-visit-buffer to ido-switch-to-buffer)?     I have public variable 'MessagePlaceholder' on MasterPage and a Class that accesses this property like that setting it's value to string from getMessage(); ((HttpContext.Current.Handler as System.Web.UI.Page).Master as MasterPage).MessagePlaceholder = getMessage(); which gives me an error like this one Error 3 'System.Web.UI.MasterPage' does not contain a definition for 'MessagePlaceholder' and no extension method 'MessagePlaceholder' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.UI.MasterPage' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) What should i do ?

    Hello, I am using the following Rewrite URL: RewriteRule /([^/?.]+) /somedir/somefile.aspx\?Name=$1 [NC,L] which works great for my use, but I need to restrict it to only act on text that does not contain a filename... for example, if I use the url www.somedomain.com/SomeName it works fine, but it also fires if I use www.somedomain.com/TestPage.aspx So I am not sure if I need an additional Rewtire rule, or if the current one can be modified to disallow any text with an extension, for example. Any help with this regular expression would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi all, One of my functions in a class is called GetIpAddress() which returns the following string: System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"] This all works well in regular page loads and gets my ip address, but when i for example let a user place a comment, then the ip address is lost after postback and i get an empty string returned.   • get rid of red X in IE for non-existing images

    I have a 3rd website (Confluence) which references images which are secured by a login. If the current user is logged in the image is shown if not the image url would redirect to a login form. Example When you enter this url in the browser a redirect to the login page is done. The problem now: IE shows a the dreaded red X icon for the image even though there should be just nothing (like in Firefox). Anyone knows how to get around this?
