Strange Url's in ASP.NET site

My asp.net 4 website url format is http://www.somesite.com/ShowProduct.aspx?ID=3330 but it sometimes gets changed to http://www.somesite.com/(S(ghtef0vy5fgfdjgdfgderd55)X(1))/ShowProduct.aspx?ID=3330 or http://www.somesite.com/ShowProduct.aspx?ID=3330&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=3330 How can i prevent this. I want all url's to be of this format only http://www.somesite.com/ShowProduct.aspx?ID=3330

`svn checkout` on the SVN server causes the repo to break with a 301 error

We have an nginx server which proxies to a standard set-up of Apache+SVN. The nginx set-up is a very simple proxy: server { server_name svn.ourdomain.tld; location / { proxy_pass http://localhost:8080; } } Apache is set-up as follows: <Location /> DAV svn SVNParentPath /var/svn AuthType Basic AuthName "Authentication Required" AuthUserFile /var/svn/.auth Require valid-user </Location> ...which allows us to access repositories using something like http://svn.ourdomain.tld/repo. We've been running this set-up now for about 2 years without issue. Recently we've found that we need to check out one of the repositories onto the server itself, however whenever we do so it seems to break the repo. From that point on, it will only respond with a 301 Moved Permanently error. We've tried: svn co file:///path/to/repo svn co svn://localhost/repo svn co svn://svn.ourdomain.tld/repo svn co svn+ssh://localhost/repo svn co svn+ssh://svn.ourdomain.tld/repo svn co http://localhost/repo svn co http://svn.ourdomain.tld/repo Also tried bypassing nginx, and get the same error: svn co http://localhost:8080/repo svn co http://svn.ourdomain.tld:8080/repo Checking out from a different machine works as expected until we attempt to check out on the server, after that it refuses with the same 301 error. What is more confusing is that this repository server also hosts our HudsonCI server, which can pulls and builds our projects hourly. This leads us to suspect that it's the svn client which is causing an error in communication. Its also very confusing that removing then re-creating the repo using svnadmin doesn't reset the error - the repo is still unavailable even though it's "new"! Restarting apache and subversion (svnserve) has no effect on this, or the original error. Version information: OS: 64-bit CentOS 4.2, 2.6.27 kernel svn client: 1.4.2 (same for both server and remote clients) svn server: 1.4.2 httpd: 2.2.3 UPDATE: This also happens with svn export when run on the repo server. Ran from any other box/client, there isn't a problem. Here's the workflow, to help clarify the error: [~repo-server~]# svnadmin create {repo}; chown -Rf www:www {repo} [remote-client]# svn checkout http://svn.ourdomain.tld/repo [remote-client]# svn add file; svn ci -m '' [~repo-server~]# cd /var/www; svn export file:///path/to/repo/trunk ourproject [remote-client]# svn update fails with 301 error I can also confirm that the hostname of the box doesn't have an effect here, which is very odd: whether or not svn.ourdomain.tld is added to /etc/hosts it still breaks - we thought it could be an issue with localhost routing, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Are we missing something in the documentation which states you can't checkout a repo when the server is on the same box? How can we stop the repos becoming corrupt when we checkout locally?

networking through openstack installed on vm

I am trying to set up a test installation of Openstack on a Ubuntu 12.04 VM running on a ESXi server. So far I have been able to launch the VMs on the ESXi, however am unable to assign IP addresses to them. As the VM with the Openstack installation has a single public IP, I wish to assign IPs to the VMs create through Openstack so that they can directly interact with the public network itself without having a separate private network. So I feel that bridging would not be the correct option here. But am unable to find the correct documents to go ahead with such an install. Installing Yaws server on Ubuntu 12.04 (Using a cloud service)

I'm trying to get a Yaws web server working on a cloud service (Amazon AWS). I've compilled and installed a local copy on the server. My problem is that I can't get Yaws to run while running on either port 8000 or port 80. HAProxy + Percona XtraDB Cluster

I am attempting to setup HAproxy in conjunction with Percona XtraDB Cluster on a series of 3 EC2 instances. I have found a few tutorials online dealing with this specific issue, but I am a bit stuck. Both the Percona servers and the HAproxy servers are running ubuntu 12.04. The HAProxy version is 1.4.18, When I start HAProxy I get the following error: Server pxc-back/db01 is DOWN, reason: Socket error, check duration: 2ms. I am not really sure what the issue could be. I have verified the following: EC2 security groups ports are open Poured over my config files looking for issues. I currently do not see any. Ensured that xinetd was installed Ensured that I am using the correct ip address of the mysql server. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. How do I configure a site in IIS 7 for SSL with a wildcard certificate?

We have an Windows 2008 server with IIS 7 to test sites we develop for our clients. Each site has a binding on a subdomain: clienta.example.com clientb.example.com clientc.example.com (* Using example.com to protect the innocent) For one of these sites we now have to test if it works over https. So I have created a wildcard certificate request with *.example.com as the common name. I have received the certificate (issued by PositiveSSL SA) and completed the request. The certificate is now installed in IIS. Now I have added an https binding to the second site with the following settings: type: https IP address: All Unassigned Port: 443 Host name: clientb.example.com SSL certificate: *.example.com Browsing the site over regular http works fine. .htaccess ignored, SPECIFIC to EC2 - not the usual suspects

I run 8-10 EC2 based web servers, so my experience is many hours, but is limited to CentOS; specifically Amazon's distribution. I'm installing Apache using yum, so therefore getting Amazon's default compilation of Apache. I want to implement canonical redirects from non-www (bare/root) domain to www.domain.com for SEO using mod_rewrite BUT MY .htaccess FILE IS CONSISTENTLY IGNORED. My troubleshooting steps (outlined below) lead me to believe it's something specific to Amazon's build of Apache. THIS WORKED. How to link specific ports to specific domains with Apache virtual hosts?

We have a forward-facing linux box running Apache HTTP server that is acting as a reverse proxy for several back-end servers. The servers are accessed through specific domain names and ports and are set up as virtual hosts within Apache as such: Listen 8001 Listen 8002 <Virtualhost *:8001> ServerName service.one.mycompany.com ProxyPass / http://internal.one.mycompany.com:8001/ ProxyPassReverse / http://internal.one.mycompany.com:8001/ RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} ^(TRACE|TRACK) RewriteRule .* - [F] </Virtualhost> <Virtualhost *:8002> ServerName service.two.mycompany.com ProxyPass / http://internal.two.mycompany.com:8002/ ProxyPassReverse / http://internal.two.mycompany.com:8002/ RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} ^(TRACE|TRACK) RewriteRule .* - [F] </Virtualhost> The proxy server has only one IP address, and both domains are pointing to it. Accessing internal.one via service.one works fine, as does accessing internal.two via service.two. Now the problem is that Apache does not take the requesting domain into account when accessing the virtual hosts. What I mean is that both domains work for both ports: requests for service.one:8002 proxies to internal.two:8002, and requests for service.two:8001 proxies to internal.one:8001, where ideally both these requests should be denied. I can get around this by creating more virtual hosts that explicitly deny these requests: NameVirtualHost *:8001 NameVirtualHost *:8002 <Virtualhost *:8001> ServerName service.two.mycompany.com Redirect permanent / http://errorpage.mycompany.com/ </Virtualhost> <Virtualhost *:8002> ServerName service.one.mycompany.com Redirect permanent / http://errorpage.mycompany.com/ </Virtualhost> But this is not an ideal solution, since we plan to add more services to the proxy, and each new port would need to be explicitly denied on all the other domains, and each new domain would need to be explicitly denied on all ports it is not utilizing. As we add more services, the number of virtual hosts can get out of hand quickly. My question, then, is whether there is a better way? Can we explicitly tie specific ports to specific domains in a virtual host so that only that domain-port combination is processed, and all other combinations are not? Things I’ve tried: Adding NameVirtualHost *:8001, etc. without the additional virtual hosts. Setting ProxyRequests On and Off, as well as ProxyPreserveHost On and Off Adding the server name or IP address to the virtual host header, e.g. <VirtualHost service.one.mycompany.com:8001> Using the <proxy> directive inside the virtual host directive. Lots and lots of googling. The proxy server is running CentOS 6.2 64-bit, Apache HTTPD server 2.2.15. As mentioned, the proxy server has only one IP address, and all the domains we are using are pointing to it.

How to make Nginx fire 504 immediately is server is not available?

I have Nginx set up as a load balancer with cookie-based stickiness. The logic is: If the cookie is NOT there, use round-robbing to choose a server from cluster. If the cookie is there, go to the server that is associated with the cookie value. Server is then responsible for setting the cookie. What I want to add is this: If the cookie is there, but server is down, fallback to round-robbing step to choose next available server. So actually I have load balancing and want to add failover support on top of it. I have managed to do that with the help of error_page directive, but it doesn't work as I expected it to. The problem: 504 (and the fallback associated with it) fires only after 30s timeout even if the server is not physically available. So what I want Nginx to do is fire a 504 (or any other error, doesn't matter) immediately (I suppose this means: when TCP connection fails). This is the behavior we can see in browsers: if we go directly to server when it is down, browser immediately tells us that it can't connect. Moreover, Nginx seems to be doing this for 502 error: if I intentionally misconfigure my servers, Nginx fires 502 immediately. Rails : fighting long http response times with ajax. Is it a good idea? Please, help with implementa

Hi, everybody! I've googled some tutorials, browsed some SO answers, and was unable to find a recipe for my problem. I'm writing a web site which is supposed to display almost realtime stock chart. Data is stored in constantly updating MySQL database, I wrote a find_by_sql query code which fetches all the data I need to get my chart drawn. Everything is ok, except performance - it takes from one second to one minute for different queries to fetch all the data from the database, this time includes necessary (My)SQL-server side calculations. This is simply unacceptable. I got the following idea: if the data is queried from the MySQL server one point a time instead of entire dataset, it takes only about 1-100ms to get an individual point. I imagine the data fetch process might be browser-driven. After the user presses the button in order to get a chart drawn, controller makes one request to the database and renders, say, a progress bar, say 1% ready. When the browser gets the response, it immediately makes an (ajax) request, and the server fetches the next piece of data and renders "2%". And so on, until all the data is ready and the server displays the requested chart. Could this be implemented in rails+js, is there a tutorial for solving a similar problem on the Web? I suppose if the thing is feasible at all, somebody should have already done this before. I have read several articles about ajax, I believe I do understand general principles, but never did nontrivial ajax programming myself. Thanks for your time!

How to filter Backbone.js Collection and Rerender App View?

Is is a total Backbone.js noob question. I am working off of the ToDo Backbone.js example trying to build out a fairly simple single app interface. While the todo project is more about user input, this app is more about filtering the data based on the user options (click events). I am completely new to Backbone.js and Mongoose and have been unable to find a good example of what I am trying to do. I have been able to get my api to pull the data from the MongoDB collection and drop it into the Backbone.js collection which renders it in the app. What I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do is filter that data and re-render the app view. I am trying to filter by the "type" field in the document. Hi, We've spent the last two days trying to get squid 2.7 to work with ubuntu 9.10. The computer running ubuntu has two network interfaces: eth0 and eth1 with dhcp running on eth1. Both interfaces have static ip's, eth0 is connected to the Internet and eth1 is connected to our LAN. We have followed literally dozens of different tutorials with no success. This is repeatable with some clients running through my proxy server, but in other cases it does not happen at all. In the cases where a client computer works normally, the only difference I can see is that the 3rd request for SSL resource comes back with a 200 response, see below: CONNECT gmail.google.com:443 HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/5.0; MALC) Proxy-Connection: Keep-Alive Content-Length: 0 Host: gmail.google.com Pragma: no-cache Proxy-Authorization: NTLM TlRMTVNTUAADAAAAGAAYAIAAAA A SSLv3-compatible ClientHello handshake was found. I have tried resetting user accounts as well as computer accounts in Active Directory. User accounts and passwords that are being used are correct and the passwords have been reset so they are not out of sync. I have removed the clients and even the proxy server from the domain, and rejoined them. I have installed a complete separate proxy server and get exactly the same problem when I point clients to a different proxy server on a different IP address.

If i switch the root directory to /srv/http and alias the / location, die /phpmemcachedadmin and webgrind work, but not the / location. If i call localhost/phpmemcachedadmin/index.php it works quite well (i get a log that i got served the file in access log). On the other hand, if i just call localhost/phpmemcachedadmin/ he serves me the file for download. Neither the error.log nor the access.log log anything when i get served the the file for download. Any ideas?

I'm using ISPConfig to setup all the websites on my server but I also like to try to fiddle with the files myself to see how it works. Like you guessed, yes, I've broken something. I can't access my webmail setup by default on the server with the alias /webmail (I access it via the http://xxx.xxx.xx.xx/webmail) Firefox tells me that The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. So I cleaned up my vhost files and the one of my websites work as intended, I think that the problem comes from my default.vhost. jQuery and Windows Azure

The goal of this blog entry is to describe how you can host a simple Ajax application created with jQuery in the Windows Azure cloud. In this blog entry, I make no assumptions. I assume that you have never used Windows Azure and I am going to walk through the steps required to host the application in the cloud in agonizing detail. Our application will consist of a single HTML page and a single service. The HTML page will contain jQuery code that invokes the service to retrieve and display set of records. There are five steps that you must complete to host the jQuery application: Sign up for Windows Azure Create a Hosted Service Install the Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio Create a Windows Azure Cloud Service Deploy the Cloud Service Sign Up for Windows Azure Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsazure/ and click the Sign up Now button. Select one of the offers. I selected the Introductory Special offer because it is free and I just wanted to experiment with Windows Azure for the purposes of this blog entry. To sign up, you will need a Windows Live ID and you will need to enter a credit card number. After you finish the sign up process, you will receive an email that explains how to activate your account. Accessing the Developer Portal After you create your account and your account is activated, you can access the Windows Azure developer portal by visiting the following URL: http://windows.azure.com/ When you first visit the developer portal, you will see the one project that you created when you set up your Windows Azure account (In a fit of creativity, I named my project StephenWalther). Creating a New Windows Azure Hosted Service Before you can host an application in the cloud, you must first add a hosted service to your project. Click your project on the summary page and click the New Service link. You are presented with the option of creating either a new Storage Account or a new Hosted Services. Because we have code that we want to run in the cloud – the WCF Service -- we want to select the Hosted Services option. After you select this option, you must provide a name and description for your service. This information is used on the developer portal so you can distinguish your services. When you create a new hosted service, you must enter a unique name for your service (I selected jQueryApp) and you must select a region for this service (I selected Anywhere US). Click the Create button to create the new hosted service. Install the Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio We’ll use Visual Studio to create our jQuery project. Before you can use Visual Studio with Windows Azure, you must first install the Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsazure/ and click the Get Tools and SDK button. The Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio works with both Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010. Installation of the Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio is painless. You just need to check some agreement checkboxes and click the Next button a few times and installation will begin: Creating a Windows Azure Application After you install the Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio, you can choose to create a Windows Azure Cloud Service by selecting the menu option File, New Project and selecting the Windows Azure Cloud Service project template. I named my new Cloud Service with the name jQueryApp. Next, you need to select the type of Cloud Service project that you want to create from the New Cloud Service Project dialog. I selected the C# ASP.NET Web Role option. Alternatively, I could have picked the ASP.NET MVC 2 Web Role option if I wanted to use jQuery with ASP.NET MVC or even the CGI Web Role option if I wanted to use jQuery with PHP. After you complete these steps, you end up with two projects in your Visual Studio solution. The project named WebRole1 represents your ASP.NET application and we will use this project to create our jQuery application. Creating the jQuery Application in the Cloud We are now ready to create the jQuery application. We’ll create a super simple application that displays a list of records retrieved from a WCF service (hosted in the cloud). I am using a jQuery template to format each product. You can learn more about using jQuery templates by reading the following blog entry by Scott Guthrie: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2010/05/07/jquery-templates-and-data-linking-and-microsoft-contributing-to-jquery.aspx You can test whether the Default.htm page is working correctly by running your application (hit the F5 key). The first time that you run your application, a database is set up on your local machine to simulate cloud storage. You will see the following dialog: If the Default.htm page works as expected, you should see the list of three products: Adding an Ajax-Enabled WCF Service In the previous section, we created a simple jQuery application that displays an array by using a template. The application is a little too simple because the data is static. In this section, we’ll modify the page so that the data is retrieved from a WCF service instead of an array. First, we need to add a new Ajax-enabled WCF Service to the WebRole1 project. Select the menu option Project, Add New Item and select the Ajax-enabled WCF Service project item. Name the new service ProductService.svc. Modify the service so that it returns a static collection of products. We are being lazy here. Next you need to modify the Default.htm page to use the ProductService.svc. The jQuery script in the following updated Default.htm page makes an Ajax call to the WCF service. Right-click your jQueryApp project in the Solution Explorer window and select the Publish menu option. When you select publish, your application and your application configuration information is packaged up into two files named jQueryApp.cspkg and ServiceConfiguration.cscfg. Visual Studio opens the directory that contains the two files. In order to deploy these files to the Windows Azure cloud, you must upload these files yourself. Return to the Windows Azure Developers Portal at the following address: http://windows.azure.com/ Select your project and select the jQueryApp service. You will see a mysterious cube. Click the Deploy button to upload your application. Next, you need to browse to the location on your hard drive where the jQueryApp project was published and select both the packaged application and the packaged application configuration file. Supply the deployment with a name and click the Deploy button. While your application is in the process of being deployed, you can view a progress bar. Running the jQuery Application in the Cloud Finally, you can run your jQuery application in the cloud by clicking the Run button. It might take several minutes for your application to initialize (go grab a coffee). After WebRole1 finishes initializing, you can navigate to the following URL to view your live jQuery application in the cloud: http://jqueryapp.cloudapp.net/default.htm The page is hosted on the Windows Azure cloud and the WCF service executes every time that you request the page to retrieve the list of products. Summary Because we started from scratch, we needed to complete several steps to create and deploy our jQuery application to the Windows Azure cloud. We needed to create a Windows Azure account, create a hosted service, install the Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio, create the jQuery application, and deploy it to the cloud. Now that we have finished this process once, modifying our existing cloud application or creating a new cloud application is easy. jQuery and Windows Azure work nicely together. We can take advantage of jQuery to build applications that run in the browser and we can take advantage of Windows Azure to host the backend services required by our jQuery application. The big benefit of Windows Azure is that it enables us to scale. If, all of the sudden, our jQuery application explodes in popularity, Windows Azure enables us to easily scale up to meet the demand. We can handle anything that the Internet might throw at us.
