  When would I implement IDispose on a class as opposed to a destructor? I read this article, but I'm still missing the point. My assumption is that if I implement IDispose on an object, I can explicitly 'destruct' it as opposed to waiting for the garbage collector to do it. Is this correct? Does that mean I should always explicitly call Dispose on an object? What are some common examples of this?

  Is there any short way to achieve what APT does in Python ? I mean, when the package manager prompts a yes/no question followed by "[Yes/no]". The scripts accepts YES/Y/yes/y or "enter" (defaults to Yes as hinted by the capital) The only thing I find in the official doc is input/raw_input.. • How to defend agains botnet http requests

  I have a server with WHM + CPanel and 5 of my costumer got infected with zbot. This means that the domains they have are constantly receiving requests to certain destinations. I tried to use mod_security but seems that it can't filter every requests... I don't really know why? I still see in the access log the connection comming in and it's consuming a LOT of bandwidth and server load Those accounts have already been clean so all of those requests go to error 404 (the ones catched on mod_security I am dropping the connection). Is there anymore ways to defend against this requests?

  I have few notes or text like few remembering lines on daily or weekly basis. I want to write it. but i should be able to see at any backdate /monthly or yearly. The date-time should also be stored when i enter text. is it possible EDIT: I will explain clearly what i exactly want. • I need to know inside of "while(fscanf != EOF){blah}" if the next fscanf is going to return EOF-- be

  I've got some code executing in a while(fscanf != EOF) loop. However, even when fscanf has finished executing, I need to keep running that code until some conditions are met. I mean I guess I could copy/paste the code to outside the while(fscanf) loop, and only use global variables, but that seems messy. Surely someone has encountered something like this before and has a cleaner solution.

  I need to simulate network latency to a program running on the local computer, connecting to a local service. Thus far I have tried dummynet (a windows build of ipfw) which I got working after some trial and error. While it generally works, I can't seem to get it to filter localhost traffic. Even after adding a rule from any to any which affects external traffic, this makes no difference for local connections. I would appreciate if anyone knows how to simulate local latency using dummynet or a different tool. The tool should be able to simulate latency generically in IP packets, (TCP and UDP) and not be protocol specific.

  Hi,?? I need to set up a Apache server configuration for some client sites that run under the same Ubuntu 9.10 machine. All sites are allowed to run PHP, Python and Ruby on Rails. I do not control the source code of these sites and so I need to set up a filter in order to prevent one user to reach files on another users account.?? If I run a script to list files in "/" from one account, I can browse some files and directories in the actual server root. I want to set the root for each account to /var/usersite.com/www/ instead so that listing files in "/" shows the files in the client's root. ??How is this most easily configured??? • What's the deal with NTFS tags in windows 7

  So back in the days of 'longhorn' there was this WinFS idea which was both cool looking and scary looking. Then it seemed to disappear, but we were told that many of the concepts would be rolled into Vista. Then maybe Win7. Anyway, nowadays if you look at a win7 Explorer window, you can have columns that have a lot of tag-based info about a file (right click on column header-more...), including one called "tags". Is this something in NTFS that can be modified per-file somehow? Is its GUI hiding, or is this something that's infinitely-delayed, or is it just a figment of my imagination? Sure would be nice to be able to get around the NTFS path 256 character limit for searches, and to filter file folders per Excel 2007.
