About 35km south-east of Schiphol Airport and centrally located in the Netherlands, Oracle moved into the Facet building in March 2011. Facet is much more than an office building, it creates a work environment that relates to the ‘No Limits’ philosophy Oracle has in the Netherlands. “No Limits” means the building belongs to everyone. You choose the best place to work, based on the activities of that moment. To point this out, we currently have 1050 people working for Oracle Netherlands, and 623 workplaces. There is virtually no limit to where you can sit in our shiny new offices; we no longer have 'zoning', where departments own specific areas in the building, Even the Managing Director of Oracle Netherlands, does not have an office and he chooses a different working place every day. So make sure you are prepared when he is sitting next to you one day! If nobody has a fixed workplace, then you would think that finding a colleague could be tricky. Oracle uses CU (‘SeeYou’) which makes all of us easier to locate. Upon entering the building you receive a text stating where the greatest concentration of your buddies is sitting. Our internal messaging service also proves to be very valuable finding your colleagues. The heart of our building is the great RestOrant, with a very busy coffee bar. It offers an informal place for people to meet and is busy all day, not just at lunch time! The O-Bar in the atrium on the ground floor is also a very popular place to meet and drink tea or coffee and gives a breathtaking introduction to the office to any of our first time visitors. For a few minutes of relaxation during the working day, there are table tennis facilities and a Wii room on every floor!   • What's about Java?

    What is Java? In very short words, Java is a programming language that let you make an application that can be run on different operating systems, no matter we are talking about Windows, Mac OS, Linux or even embedded devices, such as RaspberryPi. When you compile a Java program, instead of getting a binary output as you get on other programming languages, you'll get a Java intermediate code, called Java bytecode. This is interpreted at run time, by a virtual machine that is specifically for the hardware and operating system you are using. What Java do i need? There are 5 major versions of Java: Java SE(Standard Edition) - this is what I'll use on most of my tutorials. Most of the examples will run on Java 6, but for others you'll need Java 7. Java EE (Enterprise Edition) - used for enterprise development Java ME (Micro Edition) - for running Java on mobile and different embedded devices such as PDAs, TV set-top boxes, printers, etc. Java Embedded - for some embedded devices such as Raspberry Pi, where the resources are limited JavaFX - to develop rich content User Interfaces. This is also something that will use a lot. More detailed information can be found on Oracle's website If you just want to run java applications you'll need the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) installed. If you want to program and create new applications, then you'll need the JDK (Java Development Kit).  How to check if Java is already installed? From command line, if you are on Windows, or from Terminal on Mac enter the following: java -version You should get something like this, if you have java installed on your system: java version "1.6.0_37" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06-434-11M3909) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.12-b01-434, mixed mode) Note: your current Java version might be different from mine.   • Different domain for dirrenet thing or just one?

    Suppose I'm starting my business my major is computer services like: graphic , programming, computer repair , networking and.... now the question is, what do you recommend for a better ranking? should i have a separate domain for each of these field or i can have them all in different pages/categories in one website? my preferred CMS system is Wordpress. and...do you recommend me using keywords in domain name even if it becomes hard to remember, meaningless and long?     I'm trying to find out whether or not I want to switch from Java to c++ for my OpenGL game programming. I now have setup a test project in VS 11 professional, with GLUT. I created my windows with GLUT, and I can render OpenGL primitives without any problems. Now my question: What library(s) is/are used mostly in the indie/semi professional industry for using OpenGL in c++?     I recently decided to install ubuntu, i formatted my pc and i installed both Ubuntu and Windows. Since it is hard sometimes to get games to work in ubuntu (specially the new ones) i decided to use Windows mostly for games and ubuntu for work applications, such as programming, the adobe suite and whatnot. Here's my question: Is there anyway i can use Adobe Master Collection within ubuntu without using virtual mode? I've been searching it all over the internet but i get nothing.

    I was wondering if anybody can point to a post, pdf, or excerpt of a book containing the rules for C++ variable life-times and best practices for passing and returning function parameters. Things like when to pass by value and by reference, how to share ownership, avoid unnecessary copies, etc. This is not for a particular problem of mine, I've been programming in C++ for long enough to know the rules by instinct, but it is something that a lot of newcomers to the language stumble with, and I would be glad to point them to such a thing.

I find that I don't want to look at anything programming related, and I'm seriously wondering if I'm letting boredom get the best of me, I'm depressed, or experiencing burnout?     For many programming quizzes we are given a bunch of input lines and we have to process each input , do some computation and output the result. My question is what is the best way to optimize the runtime of the solution ? Read all input, store it (in array or something) ,compute result for all of them, finally output it all together. or 2. Read one input, compute the result, output the result and so on for each input given.

    When I use the software center to install something, I get the error: An unhandlable error occured There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks on using the command line: $sudo apt-get install <something> E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. I am unable to install anything. How do we fix this?
