    I'm writing a simple macro program: you record your mouse or keyboard movements, you save the file, and the program will run it for you on your pc computer. however, the situation is, what if the file is run on a laptop where the resolution is smaller? what if the file is to be run on a web server where there is no monitor ? ie) the button is clicked at position (x,y): 300,520 but the button will be at another location in a different monitor resolution. How would you approach this problem ?

  • Write/read count to txt file

    Hi, I need a batch file that writes the count number to a txt file. Next time the batch file is run, it should read the current count number from the txt file and add 1 to count and save this new value in the txt file. (nothing else is in the txt file) When count is 5 it should start from 1 again Example: Count.bat runs 1 time: count.txt has no count so Count.bat saves the value 1 in count.txt Count.bat is run 2 time: Count.bat reads 1 from count.txt and saves the new value 2 to count.txt When count.bat is run for the 6 time it should start over by saving the value 1 in count.txt I think this just be easy to do, but I'am not use to batch commands So hopefully someone here could help me.

  • Grails external Jms broker (active mq)

    I have what will become an 'external' activemq server I'd like grails to be able to talk to. Right now I am just running it on my dev box. Here is what I have setup right now: 1) Run activemq server 2) Run activemq/examples using ant to produce messages 3) View ActiveMQ admin site: http://localhost:8161/admin/queues.jsp verify that messages are in the queue. 4) Follow Mini Tutorial to create the Service and Controller: http://www.grails.org/ActiveMQ+Plugin 5) Configured my Grails resources.groovy file as follows: beans = { jmsConnectionFactory(SingleConnectionFactory){ targetConnectionFactory = { ActiveMQConnectionFactory cf -> brokerURL = 'tcp://localhost:61616' } } } When I run the grails app I get a BindException saying port 61616 is already in use. How do I configure this to use my server that is already running? I've tried changing 'localhost' to '127.0.0.1' and to my LAN ip, but no luck, it keeps trying to setup its own embedded activemq server. Any ideas?

    I'm looking into Mono and .NET C#, we'll be needing to run the code on Linux Servers in the future when the project is developed. At this point I've been looking at ASP.NET MVC and Mono I run an ubuntu distro and want to do development for a web application, some of the other developers use windows and run other .NET items with Visual Studio. What does Mono not provide that Visual Studio does? If running this on Linux later shouldn't we use Mono Develop ? Is there some third party tools or addin's that might be an issue with Mono later?

  • R problems using rpart with 4000 records and 13 attributes

    I have attempted to email the author of this package without success, just wondering if anybody else has experienced this. I am having an using rpart on 4000 rows of data with 13 attributes. I can run the same test on 300 rows of the same data with no issue. When I run on 4000 rows, Rgui.exe runs consistently at 50% cpu and the UI hangs.... it will stay like this for at least 4-5hours if I let it run, and never exit or become responsive. here is the code I am using both on the 300 and 4000 size subset : train<-read.csv("input.csv",header=T) y<-train[,18] x<-train[,3:17] library(rpart) fit<-rpart(y~.,x) Is this a known limitation of rpart, am I doing something wrong? potential workarounds? any assistance appreciated

This subactivity should take few numbers from user (i'm using Edit text control to achieve this), save them to static variable in another class and terminate. I want main activity to wait for subactivity but both are just running simultaneously.     Currently I am experiencing an issue with a Postgres 8.3 install wherein after a system restart a service is unable. The error message is as follows: waiting for server to start...Access is denied. ............................................................could not start server The command being executed is pg_ctl.exe start -N "MyService" -D "C:\MyData" I am logged in and executing this as an administrator. The issue originally happened after uninstalling and reinstalling postgres, the /data directory was removed as well.

    I have installed proftpd with mod-sql modules; i need to have a ftp server that would run on another port (and use a separate authentication scheme) Whenever i try to install vsftpd or pureftpd it simply removes proftpd and dependencies; i'm guessing it's to prevent having conflicts ... Is there any 'very small' ftp server; like run from command line that I could use ? I've searched all around but cannot find ... Any help would be appreciated

  • Mac OS X 10.5 App "not supported on this architecture" cured by copying?

    I have an app that updates itself over the internet, and the updated copy won't run on PowerPC machines (G5) running Leopard (10.5.8). Double-clicking the app produces a message saying "You can't open the application "appname" because it is not supported on this architecture." But here's the weird part: if I duplicate the app using the Finder or using a cp -R command, then the duplicate runs fine! And yet, if I do ls -laeR on both apps, the results are identical. I restarted the machine, and the difference between the two copies was still there. Sometimes, renaming the app made it run. After a few tries, I managed to rename it back to the original name and still have it run. If this was just on one machine, I'd dismiss it as disk corruption, cosmic rays, or a voodoo hex, but it was reported by a customer and then I reproduced it on my own machine. Any ideas what could cause this behavior?

    Is there a way to programmatically determine if a SQL Server backup is currently being performd on a particular database? We have automated database backup scripts for both data and log files, where the databases are backed up nightly and log files are backed up every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. However, we think that the log file backup job is failing if it runs the same time as the full backup is being run. What I'd like to do is to make a change to my transaction log script to not run a transaction log backup while the full backup is being run. If there a DMV or a system table that I can query and work this out?

This even happened in safe mode with the administrator's account. So I can't log in. I'll be using a Linux Live CD to extract the laptop's data. Could this be a virus or a hard disk problem?     I'm a beginner in java so this question might seem a little stupid, my jdk and jre are installed in C:\program files, I write my program and save it in in my folder G:\start, now my program compiles without any error(the .class file is also generated), but when i run my program it says "unable to locate G:\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg", so i copy the 'lib' folder from my jdk folder and paste it in G:, again program compiles without any error, but when i run it,it gives my a new error saying "unable to locate G:\bin\server\jvm.dll",so i copy the 'bin' folder to g:, but now when i run, it gives me the same error again "unable to locate G:\bin\server\jvm.dll",where am I going wrong?

  • JUnit unable to find tests in Eclipse

    I have a strange issue with JUnit 4 tests in Eclipse 3.5 that I couldn't solve - any hints gratefully received! Initially: I had a test suite working properly, with 100+ tests all configured with JUnit 4 annotations. I'd run these typically by right clicking on my source folder and selecting "Run as JUnit test". All worked perfectly. Now: When I try to run the test messages all I get is an error "No tests found with test runner 'JUnit 4'". Any idea what is happening? I simply can't work out what could have changed to make this fail. My guess is that it is some configuration issue based on the build path or class path?

  • copying files from one windows server to another

    I have to copy a file from a windows 2008 server to one or more windows 2008 servers. I have accounts on the target machines with enough privileges to let me use powershell remoting and use wmi. The remote machines do not run ftp, ssh or similar file transfer mechanisms. I am not allowed to install software or run new services on the target server. I can run services on the source server. The file copy action must be initiated from the source server. i.e. I cannot manually logon to the target machines and initiate the copy - though an automated way to do this is acceptable. Is it possible to use WMI or PowerShell Remoting to push or pull the file from the source to the target ? Is it possible to invoke some sort of built in http client or invoke the BITS service/agent on the remote servers to pull files from the source server ? Other suggestions please.

  • What is the role of asserts in C++ programs that have unit tests?

    Greetings, I've been adding unit tests to some legacy C++ code, and I've run into many scenarios where an assert inside a function will get tripped during a unit test run. A common idiom that I've run across is functions that take pointer arguments and immediately assert if the argument is NULL. I could easily get around this by disabling asserts when I'm unit testing. But I'm starting to wonder if unit tests are supposed to alleviate the need for runtime asserts. Is this a correct assessment? Are unit tests supposed to replace runtime asserts by happening sooner in the pipeline (ie: the error is caught in a failing test instead of when the program is running). On the other hand, I don't like adding soft fails to code (eg: if(param == NULL) return false;). A runtime assert at least makes it easier to debug a problem in case a unit test missed a bug.     Data is fairly large and takes few minutes to run it every time, so its taking a lot of time debugging this problem. When I run like concat('%',T.item,'%') on smaller data it seems to identify items properly. However, when I run it on the main DB (the code shown), it still shows many(maybe even all) of the exceptions.   • Best way to move a bunch of SQL Server 2005 tables to another Server?

    I've been looking for a way to move a bunch of tables, more than 40, to another server with all the data in them. I've looked around for scripts to generate inserts but so far I'd have to run them once for every table, then copy all the scripts over and then run them on the server. Seems like there is a better way. --Update-- My strategy for doing this may have been for naught. The end script, using MS SQL Server Publishing Wizard and Red Gates SQL Data Compare (excellent tool, btw) results in a file over 1GB. This makes my system plead for mercy and I'm not willing to risk crashing a clients server just opening the file to run it. I may have to rethink this whole thing and break down to just individual per table scripts. I'm not looking forward to that.

    Consider this flow structure which I happen to use often: if ( hasPosts() ) { while ( hasPosts() ) { displayNextPost(); } } else { displayNoPostsContent(); } Are there any programming languages which have an optional else clause for while, which is to be run if the while loop is never entered? Thus, the code above would become: while ( hasPosts() ) { displayNextPost(); } else { displayNoPostsContent(); } I find it interesting that many languages have the do-while construct (run the while code once before checking the condition) yet I have never seen while-else addressed. There is precedent for running an N block of code based on what was run in N-1 block, such as the try-catch construct. I wasn't sure whether to post here or on programmers.SE.     I have a field called Timestamp, that stores its values as text as opposed to an actual Timestamp. The logging application is unchangeable, unfortunately. So table.Timestamp -> text field with format -> "Wed Mar 02 13:28:59 CDT 2011" I have been developing a query to purge all but the most recent row using this as my Timestamp selector, which is also converting the string into a date - MAX( STR_To_DATE( table.Timestamp , '%a %b %d %H:%i:%s CDT %Y' ) My query works perfectly... However, what I've found is that the string value - 'CDT' - changes between 'CDT' and 'CST' depending on whether the current time is daylight savings time or not. During daylight savings time, it logs as 'CDT', and vice versa. So all the rows that contain 'CST' get ignored when I run this - MAX( STR_To_DATE( table.Timestamp , '%a %b %d %H:%i:%s CDT %Y' ) and all the rows that contain 'CDT' get ignored when I run this - MAX( STR_To_DATE( table.Timestamp , '%a %b %d %H:%i:%s CST %Y' ) Is there a way to make it run against both string formats?

  • Subprocess with variables & Command from different class

As you can see below what i mean class Controller: def __init__(self): self.model = Model() self.view = View() def main(self): data = self.model.filename() self.view.tcpdump(data) class View: def tcpdump(self, command): subprocess.call(command.split(), shell=False) When i run my code i get this error: subprocess.call(command.split(), shell=False) AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'split' My guess means that its not picking up command (look at source for reference) or that its not getting command with variables. But i know the error when variables are not being picked up so i don't think it is that. My question is, from what i have thus far, how do i from "class view" grab "command" for my subprocesses to run. Thanks~ John Riselvato

  • Install the proper bitness Visual C++ Runtime Library via a Setup project

    Hi all! The context: I have a solution that contains amongh other C# projects, a VC++ project that suports compiling only as x64 or Win32 (but not Any CPU). In order for the application (which in fact is a macro for a third party application) to run, it requires Visual C++ Runtime libraries (x86) or (x64) (The macro will run on both x64 and x86 operating systems.) The problem: I want to create a Visual Studio setup project that would install the macro on both x86 and x64 operating systems, and the problem I have is to specify what Visual C++ Runtime library to use a prerequisite. If both are selected (x64 and x86) than I have a runtime error message when running the setup.exe, as on x86 operating systems you cannot run x64 executables like the Visual C++ Runtime libraries (x64) kit is...(which the setup calls in the back). So I would need a bitness condition, or something like that to tell the setup what bitness version of the Visual C++ Runtime library to try to install...I'm not sure if this is possible, or even where such a code should be placed in the setup.
