• How to correctly migrate urls from custom asp.net solution to Wordpress?

  I have a web site built using asp.net with ugly URLs like /DisplayContent.aspx?id=789564. I know how to migrate the database, but the Wordpress urls will be (naturally) different. Can I simply write some mapping or do I have to include a rewrite rule for each subpage (300 pages) in .htaccess? Should I provide a rewrite rule for each existing page that would transform a full old url to the known new url, like for example: /DisplayContent.aspx?id=789798 -> /2010-5-10/Title-Of-The-Post Even if I manage to migrate the URLs, the structure of the HTML for the new content will naturally be different. How does this affect SEO? Should I run asp.net and wordpress side by side and issue the redirects from the asp.net application? What is the most efficient solution to this kind of migration of URLs without doing PHP programming?

• Interrupt a thread in DatagramSocket.receive

  I'm building an application that listens on both TCP and UDP, and I've run into some trouble with my shutdown mechanism. When I call Thread.interrupt() on each of the listening threads, the TCP thread is interrupted from listening, whereas the UDP listener isn't. To be specific, the TCP thread uses Socket.accept(), which simply returns (without actually connecting). Whereas the UDP thread uses DatagramSocket.receive, and doesn't exit that method. Is this an issue in my JRE, my OS, or should I just switch to (Datagram)Socket.close()?

• Are sessions modifiable by the client/user?

  In my PHP Web-App I use sessions to store the user's data. For exmaple, if a user logs in, then an instance of the User class is generated and stored in a Session. I have access levels associated with each user to determine their privileges. Store the user in a session by: $_SESSION['currentUser'] = new User($_POST['username']); For example: if($_SESSION['currentUser'] -> getAccessLevel() == 1) { //allow administration functions } where getAccessLevel() is simply a get method in the User class that returns the _accesslevel member variable. Is this secure? Or can the client somehow modify their access level through session manipulation of some sort?

• Building a custom iterator.

  I am making this class which is a custom Map based off a hash map. I have an add method where if you add an object the object will be the key, and its value will be 1 if the object is not currently in the list. However if you add object that is currently in the list its value will be bumped up by 1. So if I added 10 strings which were all the same, the key would be that string and the value will be 10. I understand in practice when I iterate through the map, there is actually only one object to iterate, however, I am trying to create a inner class that will define an iterator that will iterate the same object however many times its value is. I can do this by simply using for loops to construct an appropriate ArrayList and just create an iterator for that, but that is too inefficient. Is there an easy or more efficient way of doing this?

  I didn't find solution for my problem with two QLayouts. I need app with QHBoxLayout with possible expandind when I will add new widgets, push buttons, .... So what I have: One QDialog and two layouts. Now I know that I can't hide the layout. So I tray just : layout()->removeItem(firstlayout); layout()->addLayout(secondLayout); But when I did this, I saw all items in first layout on possition [0,0]. So next step I try: for (all items in first layout) if (widget) widget->hide(); But this is working only with QWidget and I have many different items in layouts. Simply way is use the widget, because there is possibole to use hide/show, but I need auto expanding window when I add new items.

There is a value in brackets; [UQ_Users_0000000000000028], which seems a bit random to me, so would just like to ask if someone could explain this field? • Error comparing hash to hashed mysql password (output values are equal)

  Im trying to compare a hashed password value in a mysql database with the hashed value of an inputted password from a login form. However, when I compare the two values it says they aren't equal. I removed the salt to simply, and then tested what the outputs were and got the same values $password1 = $_POST['password']; $hash = hash('sha256', $password1); ...connect to database, etc... $query = "SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '$username1'"; $result = mysql_query($query); $userData = mysql_fetch_array($result); if($hash != $userData['password']) //incorrect password { echo $hash."|".$userData['password']; die(); } ...other code... • send javaScript variable to php variable

  First i thought that i had to convert javascript to php, but then i found out that cant because of server and client side executions. So now I simply want to send ONE variable <script type="text/javascript"> function scriptvariable() { var theContents = "the variable"; } </script> to a php variable <?php $phpvariable ?> That function in the javascript executes when lets say i click on a button. Now i have Nooo idea how to get that phpvariable Equal to the javascript one so i can use that phpvariable to look up stuff in my Database. I know i can add it to my url or some thing, and just refresh the page.. But id like to do it with AJAX as further in my webpage i might have to use this Ajax method.. So is there an easy way to do this without having to dump pages of code on my page to do one simple thing?

• couchdb: one database per account vs all in one database w. a namespace / property

  I'm modelling a document generation system in couchdb. It semi-automates the production of proposal and presentation documents from managable document fragments. Much like, say, Basecamp, it breaks down very simply into self-contained data per 'account'. Each account has multiple users, projects, documents, etc. However, nothing should be shared between accounts. I can see two ways of doing this: one couchdb database per account use a namespace / property to identify the account It seems to me that the first approach is conceptually sound and potentially has security and partitioning advantages. However, it seems to me to restrict some cross-database data querying (that I don't have a use case for now but you never know...) and to make updating views potentially require an awful lot of writes. Does anyone experienced with this kind of decision have any advice?

  I am playing with mod_rewrite now, and have successfully enabled it. However, I need to put a htaccess file inside var/www/ in order to achieve what I want, which is to rename Urls simply... When I place it my website becomes very strange and nothing basically works... Is there any code I need to put into the htaccess file in order for things to act normally? Here is the htaccess file I have so far: Options +FollowSymLinks Options +Indexes RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/ad\.php RewriteRule ^(.*)$ ad.php?ad_id=$1 [L] My DocumentRoot is also set to var/www/ and my entire website root is there...   I am attempting to use a few of the simple android examples for Tab Views. One thing i am attempting to do different than all the examples i've seen so far, is to not use a TabActivity. I am trying to use a normal activity, which means i need to retrieve the TabHost object some how, so i can add tabs and etc to it. How can this be done? If you wanted to retrieve a view, you can simply use findViewById(R.id.blah), but how can you retrieve the TabHost object in a similar manner?

• Returning objects with dynamic memory

  I'm having trouble figuring out a way to return an object (declared locally within the function) which has dynamic memory attached to it. The problem is the destructor, which runs and deletes the dynamic memory when the object goes out of scope, i.e. when I return it and want to use the data in the memory that has been deleted! I'm doing this for an overloaded addition operator. I'm trying to do something like: MyObj operator+( const MyObj& x, const MyObj& y ) { MyObj z; // code to add x and y and store in dynamic memory of z return z; } My destructor is simply: MyObj::~MyObj() { delete [] ptr; } Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

• fields_for to stop pluralizing.

  I have a fields_for tag, where I specify the prefix (lets say for some good reasons), and this is supposed to represent a one-to-one relationship. I am trying to represent a relationship widget has_many thingamagigs thingamagig has_one whatchamacallit The field_for code is: fields_for "widgt[thingamagigs_attributes][][whatchamacallit_attributes]", thingamagig.whatchamacallit do |x| which generates names (wrongly): widget[thingamagigs_attributes][][whatchamacallit_attributes][][value] The better solution would be t.fields_for :whatchamacallit do |x| where t = fields_for the thingamagig... However if I do that, the following names are generated widgt[thingamagigs_attributes][whatchamacallit_attributes][] which is completely wrong as all other fields for a thingamagig is... widgt[thingamagigs_attributes][][name] So in all cases I am screwed. The original field_for using a string cannot be used with accepts_nested_attributes_for :whatchamacallit since whatchamacallit is a singular relationship and an object is expected not an array. The second fields_for will simply not work because rails cannot parse the params object correctly. Is there a way to tell the first forms_for to not add the [] after [whatchamacallit_attributes] in all field names?

• Determining whether a class implements a generic list in a T4 template

  I'm writing a T4 template which loads some classes from an assembly, does some analysis of the classes and then generates some code. One particular bit of analysis I need to do is to determine whether the class implements a generic list. I can do this pretty simply in C#, e.g. public class Foo : List<string> { } var t = typeof(Foo); if (t.BaseType != null && t.BaseType.IsGenericType && t.BaseType.GetGenericTypeDefinition() == typeof(List<>))) Console.WriteLine("Win"); However T4 templates use the FXCop introspection engine and so you do not have access to the .net reflection API. I've spent the past couple of hours in Reflector but still can't figure it out. Does anyone have any clues about how to do this?

• c++: what is a good idea for a list of strings?

  I simply want to build an RPG and make it as neat as possible, I wish to define a pile of strings which I may want to edit later, so I tried something like this: enum {MSG_INIT = "Welcome to ...", MSG_FOO = "bar"}; But I just get errors, such as that MSG_INIT is not an integer! Why must it not be a string, are that what enums are only for? What do you think is the best way to define a pile of strings? In a struct called msg or something? I'm kinda new to all this so I'd really appreciate small examples.

• Automatically save CSS changes made to existing styles in Chrome dev tools?

  I've already mapped the necessary files to the local resource - however, while that does allow me to save any changes made to a file in the Sources panel, I was wondering if it's possible to automatically save changes to CSS made in the Elements panel. Otherwise at the moment, any changes made to the style in the Elements panel seem to exist only there. I remember at some point there used to be a little indicator of the file and line number next to a class/id etc. in the Styles tab of the Elements panel - surely it can't be that hard to simply 'update' any changes to that style rule considering Chrome knows exactly where it's coming from (in the case that it's a stylesheet and not an inline style?). It would be a great relief to my workflow. The answers to this similar question are obsolete.

  Hi All I have just got a new company mobile and would like to begin developing apps for the HTC HD2 Mobile Phone. However, when I downloaded Microsoft Windows Phone Developer Tools, it pretty much said right at the end of installation that "Setup could not install correctly", and I clicked on "more", and it said "Silverlight 4.0 could not install correctly". So, the fact that Windows Phone Dev Tools couldn't install completely was because of this Silverlight 4 that couldn't install! Has anyone had the same problems, if so, how did you resolve this issue (if you did)? And... Is there another way to develop applications for mobile phones running the Windows Operating System other than XNA and Windows Dev Tools? Even better... Could it be done simply using the current Visual Studio Express Edition I already have? Thanks All

• Selecting a sequence NEXTVAL for multiple rows

  I am building a SQL Server job to pull data from SQL Server into an Oracle database through a linked server. The table I need to populate has a sequence for the name ID, which is my primary key. I'm having trouble figuring out a way to do this simply, without some lengthy code. Here's what I have so far for the SELECT portion (some actual names obfuscated): SELECT (SELECT NEXTVAL FROM OPENQUERY(MYSERVER, 'SELECT ORCL.NAME_SEQNO.NEXTVAL FROM DUAL')), psn.BirthDate, psn.FirstName, psn.MiddleName, psn.LastName, c.REGION_CODE FROM Person psn LEFT JOIN MYSERVER..ORCL.COUNTRY c ON c.COUNTRY_CODE = psn.Country MYSERVER is the linked Oracle server, ORCL is obviously the schema. Person is a local table on the SQL Server database where the query is being executed. When I run this query, I get the same exact value for all records for the NEXTVAL. What I need is for it to generate a new value for each returned record.   I have a table MRU, that has 3 columns. (VALUE varchar(255); TYPE varchar(20); DT_ADD datetime) This is a table simply storing an entry and recording the date time it was recorded. What I wanted to do is: delete the oldest entry whenever I add a new entry that exceeds a certain number. here is my query: delete from MRU where type = 'FILENAME' ORDER BY DT_ADD limit 1; The query returns an error.   If you go to a store and ask "Cash or Credit?" they might simply say "Yes." This doesn't tell you anything as you posed an OR statement. if(cash || credit) With humans it's possible that they might respond "Both" to that question, or "Only {cash | credit}." Is there a way (or operator) to force the a statement to return the TRUE portions of a statement? • Testing a SQL Query for True or False

  $sql = "SELECT # FROM users WHERE onduty = 1 AND loc_id = '{$site}';"; $result = mysql_query($sql); I simply want to test if this is true or false. If it returns 0 rows, I want next line to be something like: if (!$result) { //do this; } However, in my test, I am getting false when I know it should be true. Is this sound logic here?   I am trying to figure out a regular expression for the following: <tr class="A">.*</tr><tr class="(B|C)">.*</tr> Now The second tr class will repeat an unknown number of times, with something unknown in between repetitions, but simply putting it in parentheses and added a plus doesn't work.
