  • JSP includes and MVC pattern

    I am new to JSP/Servlets/MVC and am writing a JSP page (using Servlets and MVC pattern) that displays information about recipies, and want the ability for users to "comment" on it too. So for the Servlet, on doGet(), it grabs all the required info into a Model POJO and forwards the request on to a JSP View for rendering. That is working just fine. I'd like the "comment" part to be a separate JSP, so on the RecipeView.jsp I can use to separate these views out. So I've made that, but am now a little stuck. The form in the CommentOnRecipe.jsp posts to a CommentAction servlet that handles the recording of the comment just fine. So when I reload the Recipe page, I can see the comment I just made. I'd like to: Reload the page automatically after commenting (no AJAX for now) Block the user from making more than one comment on each Recipe over a 1 day timeframe (via a Cookie). So I store a cookie indicating the product ID whenever the user makes a comment, so we can check this later? How would it work in a MVC context? Show a message to the user that they have already commented on the Recipe when they visit one which they have commented on I'm confused about using beans/including JSPs etc on how to achieve this. I know in ASP.NET land, it would be a UseControl that I would place on a page, or in ASP.NET MVC, it would be a PartialView of some sort. I'm just confused with the way this works in a JSP/Servlets/MVC context.

  • HTML Dynamic Number of Dropdowns

    I have this form on which I would like to create a dynamic number of dropdowns. I have a list of categorized applications which I would like each to have its own dropdown that submits data for each dropdown. The dropdown options will be the same for each. Here is my code. I am not sure how to pass the unique data to the server. As you can see I currently have an iteration over a list of applications that I would like to make each select in that iteration its own dropdown. Users can use this client and send, get messages to the activemq instance. I want this process to be transparent. How can i get this correct? I eventually want to build a Factory, get an instance and send or get the messages to the queue. is there a code sample i can look into to get this right? essential i want to use the functionality of only this producer and consumer. Edit: I understand there is no such thing as static class in C++ . This is my reference.

I am wondering if there is local version control/snapshots for emacs independent of VC? let me clarify: every time I save buffer, I would like to be able to keep track of changes of each save in session. I know I can do something similar with backup files, but they are not automated like VC and a somewhat cumbersome. I have searched Google, but did not find the solution.     Let's suggest that I have a bean defined in Spring: <bean id="neatBean" class="com..." abstract="true">...</bean> Then we have many clients, each of which have slightly different configuration for their 'neatBean'. The old way we would do it was to have a new file for each client (e.g., clientX_NeatFeature.xml) that contained a bunch of beans for this client (these are hand-edited and part of the code base): <bean id="clientXNeatBean" parent="neatBean"> <property id="whatever" value="something"/> </bean> Now, I want to have a UI where we can edit and redefine a client's neatBean on the fly. My question is: given a neatBean, and a UI that can 'override' properties of this bean, what would be a straightforward way to serialize this to an XML file as we do [manually] today? For example, if the user set property whatever to be "17" for client Y, I'd want to generate: <bean id="clientYNeatBean" parent="neatBean"> <property id="whatever" value="17"/> </bean> Note that moving this configuration to a different format (e.g., database, other-schema'd-xml) is an option, but not really an answer to the question at hand.
