• How to find (or generate) thousands of company names for test/demo purposes

  Ok, so this is rightfully a testing question more than a development question, but the two should go hand in hand :) So, I've got a system I'm building which includes business contact information. Pretty common no doubt. My test/demo database currently has randomly generated individual's names loaded (thanks to a handy IRS spreadsheet I found). This has worked great for internal testing and review purposes, but it looks really odd when shown to prospective customers. So.... Does anyone know where I can grab or find a listing of thousands of business names (address information too would be nice)? I've tried various online public information sources (e.g. EDGAR, and county based property records searches), but these all require me to manually stitch together the results in blocks of 50 names or so at a time. I could do this, but was really hoping for a search service or data store out there that had this type of information readily searchable and retrievable in very large batches. Thanks!

  I have code code here: //Check current if (parseInt($("#Quantity").val()) < 25) { // If it is less than 25 then set it to 25 $("#Quantity").attr("value", "25"); } It checks if the quantity box has less than 25 and if it is, adds 25 to the box. The problem is on a particular product i need to check IF my pages contains: <span class="ProductNameText">This is product ABC</span> This is a work around because the customer only has 2 products which dont require 25 quantity. Ideally i would want to check if a page contained Kit Option form fields and then add 25 to the box. Any ideas on how to check for a span and then update the quantity. But the quantity shouldnt be forced, so if the user wants 6 items they should be able to add that figure.

  Hey, I am onto a task in which i have to create a link in a doccument library either upload or new link,clicking on which a form/page "not infopath" will get open and allow to upload the doccument and along with that we have some text boxes on the same page which will be asking for the properties of the doccument(like "Customer of the doccument","content Developer") and after filling up all of the things when user click on submit than in the doccument library the value of the url as well as properties comes into the columns/fields of the doccument library. Can anyone have the solution for this?

  I am trying to install an application and a group of services using PSTools, but I want to take into account that the computer I am trying to connect to may be turned off or on a different network, which is not reachable from the internal network. Basically if the machine is not able to be accessed through the admin share, this is the message that I am getting: Couldn't access MachineName: The network path was not found. Make sure that the default admin$ share is enabled on MachineName. This is the syntax I am using to try to capture the "Error Message" and then report back that if installation was successful or not (depending on if it can contact the machine) @echo off set /p name=What is the machine name?: psexec.exe \\\%name% -u *useraccount* -p *password* \\\ServerName\installation.bat FOR /F "tokens=*" %%A IN ('COMMAND ^| FIND "Couldn't access"') DO SET Error=%%A If "%Error%"=="Couldn't access" ECHO Installation Failed. • Tool to maintain a Data Mapping between two systems

  We have XML interfaces between multiple systems. An Enterprise Domain Model is missing in the overall architecture, hence the terms Product/Customer/User means different things to different systems. We currently use excel sheets to map the elements in incoming XML to what the actual Field means within our system. Additionally, it contains the values of Mandatory/Optional and length of each field. We call this the Data Dictionary. Any changes to the XML go through rounds of deliberation and updates to Word and Excel documents. Is there a better way to do this? Any tool/GUI based approach which all systems and owners can view?

• Is it possible to add .NET code (sections) to a WordPress site?

  Our shop is primarily .NET but because of the lack of any really good popular .NET CMS products, we have chosen to use WordPress (and Drupal at times) for our public facing sites. I realize this is highly subjective, but it is the conclusion we came to for our purposes. One could certainly make a case for DotNetNuke and others, but that is another conversation. I would like to know if I can integrate small components into WordPress sites, primarily to do simple forms (logon, lost password, contact us, change user settings, etc...) Can I do this with an iFrame or another method that I am not thinking about?

• Should i use TabContainer for multiple pages?

  I'm considering if it is a good idea to use an ASP.Net TabContainer-Control in the way that every TabPanel contains content of a different page. For example: Next i want to implement in my application is the masterdata management. Normally i would create one aspx page for every masterdata-table (f.e. Customer - MD_Customer.aspx). Then i would add a link into my Menu to this page. Now i'm thinking of creating one aspx page for all(Masterdata.aspx) with a Tabcontainer and an UpdatePanel for every type of Masterdata. The link it the menu could have an additional MDType as URL-Parameter. My main concerns are related to performance(one "page" for every TabPanel currently means 7 "pages" in one) and maintainability because of increasing complexity. Is it a good approach or a bad idea?   Hello! I have a few classes (heat, gas, contact, pressure) inheriting from a main one (sensor). I have a need to store them in a vector<Sensor *> (part of the specification). At some point in time, I need to call a function that indiscriminately stores those Sensor *. (also part of the specification, not open for discussion) Something like this: for(size_t i = 0; i < Sensors.size(); ++i) Sensors[i]->storeSensor(os) //os is an ofstream kind of object, passed onwards by reference Where and how shall storeSensor be defined? Is there any simple way to do this or will I need to disregard the specification? Mind you, I'm a beginner! Thanks for your time!

  I am having a lot of trouble finding good information on how to call a standard SOAP/WSDL web service with Android. All I've been able to find are either very convoluted documents and references to "kSoap2" and then some bit about parsing it all manually with SAX. OK, that's fine, but it's 2008 so I figured there should be some good library for calling standard web services. The web service is just basically one created in NetBeans. I would like to have IDE support for generating the plumbing classes. I just need the easiest/most-elegant way to contact a WSDL based web service from an Android based phone.

• Trying to change img src if another element is visible with jQuery

  I have a div ("panel" class) on my page that toggles open/closed on the click of a paragraph element ("flip" class), which has an image inside of it. Here's the HTML: <div class="panel">Contact info</div> <p class="flip"><img src="images/contactExpand.png" />Expand</p> And the jQuery: $(".flip").click(function(){ $(".panel").slideToggle("slow"); }); Everything works fine so far, but I want the image src to change to "contactCollapse.png" when the panel div is visible.   I am trying to run a C++ program and am getting the following error message when I try to run the program using - Codeblocks IDE and SQL API: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. Process returned 3 (0x3) execution time : 7.547 s Press any key to continue." The program compiles fine but on execution throws this error. My current OS is Windows server 2003 - SP2 (32 bit). Also program compiles and executes fine on Windows XP (32 bit) without any hassles. I checked the services (services.msc) running on my XP machine and compared with Windows server 2003 and found the settings same. Can someone please have a look and help me resolve the issue? thanks, Dhruv

I want to sort an Arraylist which is of a type called Contact (contactArray) which is a separate class which contains four fields; name, home number, mobile number and address. So I was looking into using the collection sort yet am not sure how i'd implement this. Is this the right sort I should be using / is it possible to use or should I look into making a custom sort?

  Hi, I was wondering if there was anything that provides test data for injecting into Nunit tests? I'm sure I came across something recently that does this but I couldn't find it again. Basically the idea is that I could use selenium and Nunit to create new customers within the system automatically. • How can I show my activity(screen) on top of in-calling screen?

  Hi, all! I'm writing an android application which listens the phone calling events. What I want to do is, if there is a call incomes or outgoes, an activity shows with my customized info. I want to this screen keeps showing during the calling period. However, if a call is coming, the system UI which shows the contact always appears on top of my activity. I've found some apps already realized this function, but mine can't. :( Is there any way that I can achieve my goal? Any help will be appreciated.

  Hi, We are planning to develop a client server application using C# and MySQL. We plan to sell the product on the shelf like any other software utility. We are worried about the decompilation of our product which does have some sort of edge over our competitors in terms of usability and bundled functionality. How can we prevent our software from decompilation, so the business logic of the product remains intact? We have heard about Reflector and other decompilers which makes our code very much vulnerable for copying. Our customer base is not Corporates by medical practitioners who themselves may not do it but our competitors may want to copy/disable licensing so value of our software goes down.   I am developing a web application in which I will have customers and suppliers. Initially I thought on using a Customers table and a Suppliers table. Then when I was thinking on bank transactions, I noticed that each transaction needs to refer to a customer or a supplier, so I thought on using a single table named Business in which I will save both customers and suppliers. If I use Customers and Suppliers tables when I want to list the bank transactions I will have to search in both tables to get the company name. If I use a Businesses table I will have to use a business type column, and have the union of possible fields for all businesses types. Any suggestions on the design?

  Here is the background, I am trying to create a DSL to allow customer write simple scripts to query into our mongodb based database. I choose antlr to implement the DSL. From my understanding (and pls let me know if it's not correct) there are 2 approaches to integrate antlr generated parser into the system: Embed code into the grammar file so that the generated parser could be used directly to make query to the database and return result in a certain format (e.g. json encoded) Keep the parser purely a parser, after feed the DSL file to it, and construct the query in another class by retrieving the AST from generated parser class So antlrers, which one do you think is the way I as an antlr newbie should go? Can you list the pros and cos of each approach, or you have other way to recommend?

• We failed trying database per custom installation. Plan to recover?

  There is a web application which is in production mode for 3 years or so by now. Historically, because of different reasons there was made a decision to use database-per customer installation. Now we came across the fact that now deployments are very slow. Should we ever consider moving all the databases back to single one to reduce environment complexity? Or is it too risky idea? The problem I see now is that it's very hard to merge these databases with saving referential integrity(primary keys of different database' tables can not be obviously differentiated). Databases are not that much big, so we don't have much benefits of reduced load by having multiple databases.
