• VPN running in vmware vm, is there any way to get the host to share that tunnel?

  I'm running WinXP in VMWare Fusion hosted by MAC OS X 10.5. There's no mac client for the vpn I need to use so I'm going through windows. The vpn runs fine in the vm. Is there a way I can get my host mac connection to piggyback off this vpn so I can access the network through the mac? I can provide more info, so let me know what would be helpful.

I don't really have a great mousing surface, so I'd like to use something like a trackpad or trackball. Does anyone have any recommendations? The keyboard doesn't have to be Mac specific. • How can I print in grayscale/low quality on my networked Cannon ip4300 via Ubuntu?

  I have a Cannon Pixma ip4300 printer connected to a Mac OS X system and shared using CUPS. I can print to this printer from my Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid workstation just fine, however when printing (specifically from Thunderbird) I don't have the option to print in grayscale or in "low quality"/draft" mode. How can I enable these options to help save on printing costs?

• VMpalyer: host keyboard layout on guest?

  I use the dvorak keyboard layout on windows 7. Also, I have a bunch of custom keys mapped using autohotkey. I'm curious, is it possible to have the guest only receive the keyboard events produced by the host? I don't really know how the host communicates keyboard strokes to guests so I don't know how to enable this or if it's possible. Thoughts? Host OS: Win7 x64 Guest: Unbuntu 9.10 x64

• Removing open session from dvd-rw

  As you can see from the above image, nero is showing some "session is open" in my DVD rewritable disc. The problem is whenever I erase the session it is not getting erased and I am unable to write the remaining part of the disc. So, the worst part is will I be able to use this dvd-rw again or now it's just a waste scrap? I have recently installed MacPorts with the latest Ruby version which is installed in a seperate location:- /opt/local/bin/ But when I run which ruby I get /usr/bin/ruby Is there any way to edit the path of the command ruby so it would reference the new installation in the /opt/ directory? • Boot Toshiba Portege M200 with no CD drive

  This has not CD drive and I would like to boot to Acronis to reload from an image that I created. I don't know how else to get the OS and all the drivers loaded. It doesn't seem to have Toshiba hidden boot partion on the HD. It doesn't seem to recognize my USB external CD drive or my USB flash drive. Any ideas? Paul
