  • Python requests SSL version

    - by Aaron Schif
    I am using the python requests module on Ubuntu 13.04. I keep getting the error: requests.exceptions.SSLError: [Errno 1] _ssl.c:504: error:14077410:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake failure When I use curl, it fails by default but succeeds with the -3 option. curl https://username:Password@helloworldurl -3 This leads me to believe that it is the SSL version, which I found may be badly supported on ubuntu while searching the error. Sooo. How do I change or check the SSL version using python preferably with requests. Note: the url is private and cannot be given out. Sorry.

  • Apache: DoS with mod_deflate & range requests, tomcat also? [migrated]

    - by VextoR
    I know that apache has a security bug http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2011/Aug/175 So if you do this command: curl -I -H "Range: bytes=0-1,0-2" -s www.yandex.ru/robots.txt it says HTTP/1.1 206 Partial Content it means, the problem is exist. But the fact is, that for apache tomcat (our server) curl says 206 Partial Content as well. So we need to fix it. I found solution for apache HTTP (.htaccess, mod_headers) but not for tomcat. I'm very newbie for servers things, so can't understand most, so please help

  • Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin not working with mod_rewrite + mod_jk

    - by tharant
    My first question on here on SF so please forgive me if I manage to bork the post. :) Anyways, I'm using mod_rewrite on one of my machines with a simple rule that redirects to a webapp on another machine. I'm also setting the header 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' on both machines. The problem is that when I hit the rewrite rule, I loose the 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header setting. Here's an example of the Apache config for the first machine: NameVirtualHost 10.0.0.2:80 <VirtualHost 10.0.0.2:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/host.example.com ServerName host.example.com JkMount /webapp/* jkworker Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*" RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/otherhost http://otherhost.example.com/webapp [R,L] </VirtualHost> And here's an example of the Apache config for the second: NameVirtualHost 10.0.1.2:80 <VirtualHost 10.0.1.2:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/otherhost.example.com ServerName otherhost.example.com JkMount /webapp/* jkworker Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*" </VirtualHost> When I hit host.example.com we see that the header is set: $ curl -i http://host.example.com/ HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily Server: Apache/2.2.11 (FreeBSD) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.7e-p1 DAV/2 mod_jk/1.2.26 Content-Length: 0 Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * Content-Type: text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1 And when I hit otherhost.example.com we see that it too is setting the header: $ curl -i http://otherhost.example.com HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Apache/2.0.46 (Red Hat) Location: http://otherhost.example.com/index.htm Content-Length: 0 Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * Content-Type: text/html;charset=UTF-8 But when I try to hit the rewrite rule at host.example.com/otherhost we get no love: $ curl -i http://host.example.com/otherhost/ HTTP/1.1 302 Found Server: Apache/2.2.11 (FreeBSD) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.7e-p1 DAV/2 mod_jk/1.2.26 Location: http://otherhost.example.com/ Content-Length: 0 Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Can anybody point out what I'm doing wrong here? Could mod_jk be part of the problem?

  • SSL Returning Blank Page, No Catalina Errors

    - by Mr.Peabody
    This is my second, maybe third, time configuring SSL with Tomcat. Earlier I had created a self signed, which worked, and now using my signed is proving fruitless. I am using Tomcat, operating from the Amazon Linux API. When using the signed cert/keystore, my server is starting normally without errors. However, when trying to navigate to the domain it is giving me an "ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH" error. My server.xml file looks as follows: <Connector port="8443" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192" maxThreads="150" minSpareThreads="25" maxSpareThreads="75" enableLookups="false" disableUploadTimeout="true" acceptCount="100" scheme="https" secure="true" SSLEnabled="true" clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS" keystoreFile="/home/ec2-user/.keystore/starchild.jks" keystorePass="d6b5385812252f180b961aa3630df504" /> It couldn't hurt to also mention that I'm using a wildcard certificate. Please let me know if anything looks amiss! EDIT: After looking more into this, I've determined there may be nothing is wrong with the Server.xml, or the listening ports. This is becoming more of an actual certificate error, as the curl request is giving me this error: curl: (35) Unknown SSL protocol error in connection to jira.mywebsite.com:-9824 Though, I can't seem to figure out what the "-9824" is. When comparing this curl to another similar setup (using the same Wildcard Certificate) it's turning up the full handshake, which is to be expected. I believe this is now between the protocol/cypher set default on JIRA servers.

  • Unable to specify parameters to cvlc in a script

    - by VxJasonxV
    I'm creating a script that issues a few curl commands in order to access a time-protected mms stream link, then set up a relay using cvlc (vlc's command line interface) for my own use on an unencumbered player. The curl aspect of this is working, as I can run as a browser and curl side by side and get the same access url. (It's time locked meaning the stream will work forever, but you have to connect quickly or the URL will time out.) The very end of the script prints the command I will run, which is then followed up by "exec $CMD". When I echo $CMD I get: cvlc --sout '#standard{access=http,mux=asf,dst=0.0.0.0:58194}' mms://[...] Manually Copy/Pasting this command in, verbatim, works perfectly fine, but as part of a script, the cvlc execution output says: [0x9743d0] main interface error: no suitable interface module [0x962120] main libvlc error: interface "globalhotkeys,none" initialization failed [0x9743d0] dummy interface: using the dummy interface module... [0xb16e30] stream_out_standard stream out error: no mux specified or found by extension [0xb16ad0] main stream output error: stream chain failed for `standard{mux="",access="",dst="'#standard{access=http,mux=asf,dst=0.0.0.0:58194}'"}' [0xb11cd0] main input error: cannot start stream output instance, aborting [0xb11f70] signals interface error: Caught Interrupt signal, exiting... Why is --sout behaving one way in a script (non-interactive shell?) vs. another way in the foreground (interactive shell) ?

  • Nginx, as reverse proxy, could not proxy_pass to a domain pointing to the local JBOSS

    - by larryzhao
    My environment is Ubuntu 12.04, Nginx 1.20, and Torquebox 2.0.3 which is actually JBoss AS 7. I have two app deployed on Torquebox, it listens to 8080 and have different hostnames, app1.mydomain.com and app2.mydomain.com. I added 127.0.0.1 app1.mydomain.com and 127.0.0.1 app2.mydomain.com in /etc/hosts then I curl app1.mydomain.com:8080 and curl app2.mydomain.com:8080 both have correct return. Then I go to my nginx. I would like nginx to pass the visit to www.app1.com to app1.mydomain.com:8080, so I have the following configuration: # primary server - proxypass to torquebox server { listen 80; server_name www.app1.com; access_log off; error_log off; # proxy to Torquebox location / { proxy_pass http://app1.mydomain:8080/; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_max_temp_file_size 0; client_max_body_size 10m; client_body_buffer_size 128k; proxy_connect_timeout 90; proxy_send_timeout 90; proxy_read_timeout 90; proxy_buffer_size 4k; proxy_buffers 4 32k; proxy_busy_buffers_size 64k; proxy_temp_file_write_size 64k; } } But it doesn't work. curl www.app1.com returns nothing. And if I visit www.app1.com in Safari, the http return code is 404. I don't know why, need help.

  • TCP dies on a Linux laptop

    - by Roman Cheplyaka
    Once in several days I have the following problem. My laptop (Debian GNU/Linux testing) suddenly becomes unable to work with TCP connections to the internet. The following things continue to work fine: UDP (DNS), ICMP (ping) — I get instant response TCP connections to other machines in the local network (e.g. I can ssh to a neighbour laptop) everything is ok for other machines in my LAN But when I try TCP connections from my laptop, they time out (no response to SYN packets). Here's a typical curl output: % curl -v google.com * About to connect() to google.com port 80 (#0) * Trying 173.194.39.105... * Connection timed out * Trying 173.194.39.110... * Connection timed out * Trying 173.194.39.97... * Connection timed out * Trying 173.194.39.102... * Timeout * Trying 173.194.39.98... * Timeout * Trying 173.194.39.96... * Timeout * Trying 173.194.39.103... * Timeout * Trying 173.194.39.99... * Timeout * Trying 173.194.39.101... * Timeout * Trying 173.194.39.104... * Timeout * Trying 173.194.39.100... * Timeout * Trying 2a00:1450:400d:803::1009... * Failed to connect to 2a00:1450:400d:803::1009: Network is unreachable * Success * couldn't connect to host * Closing connection #0 curl: (7) Failed to connect to 2a00:1450:400d:803::1009: Network is unreachable Restarting the connection and/or reloading the network card kernel module doesn't help. The only thing that helps is reboot. Clearly something is wrong with my system (everything else works fine), but I have no idea what exactly. I don't know how to reproduce this, but as I said, it happens every several days. My setup is a wireless router that is connected to the ISP via PPPoE. Any advice?

  • ASIHTTPRequest - PostData but GET Method

    - by RyanJM
    Is there a way to see what request ASIHTTPRequest is making? My code is: ASIHTTPRequest *request = [ASIHTTPRequest requestWithURL:url]; [request appendPostData:[data dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; [request setRequestMethod:@"GET"]; [request addRequestHeader:@"Content-Type" value:@"application/json"]; And I'm trying to duplicate: curl -X GET "http://www.myurl.com/_api/my/url" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d {"api_key":"my_special_api_key_123"} The curl works fine, but I can't get the ASIHTTPRequest to work properly. • server performance: multiple external connections and performance

    - by websiteguru
    I am creating a php script that requires the server to make several cURL requests per run. I'll be running this script through cron every 3 minutes. Im looking to maximize the amount of cURL requests I can make in a 24 hr period. What I am wondering is if it would be better from a performance standpoint to get a dedicated server, or several small shared hosting accounts. With the problem being number of external connections and not system resources I'm wondering which is the best approach.

Additional info When I run curl -X GET https://graph.facebook.com/[action_id]?access_token=[valid_token] the result is "false"

  • Nginx error page with JSON response

    - by Waseem
    I'm trying to serve a maintenance page to clients making request to my application when it is under maintenance. Following is my nginx configuration for that purpose. server { recursive_error_pages on; listen 80; ... if (-f $document_root/maintenance.html) { return 503; } error_page 404 /404.html; error_page 500 502 504 /500.html; error_page 503 @503; location = /404.html { root $document_root; } location = /500.html { root $document_root; } location @503 { error_page 405 =/maintenance.html; if (-f $request_filename) { break; } rewrite ^(.*)$ /maintenance.html break; } } Lets say I have enabled maintenance of my site by creating a $document_root/maintenance.html. This file, correctly, is served when a user makes a request with with Accept header of text/html. $ curl http://server.com/ -i -v -X GET -H "Accept: text/html" * Adding handle: conn: 0xf89420 * Adding handle: send: 0 * Adding handle: recv: 0 * Curl_addHandleToPipeline: length: 1 * - Conn 0 (0xf89420) send_pipe: 1, recv_pipe: 0 * About to connect() to server.com port 80 (#0) * Trying xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx... * Connected to server.com (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) port 80 (#0) > GET / HTTP/1.1 > User-Agent: curl/7.33.0 > Host: server.com > Accept: text/html > < HTTP/1.1 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable HTTP/1.1 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable * Server nginx/1.1.19 is not blacklisted < Server: nginx/1.1.19 Server: nginx/1.1.19 < Date: Thu, 14 Nov 2013 11:16:16 GMT Date: Thu, 14 Nov 2013 11:16:16 GMT < Content-Type: text/html Content-Type: text/html < Content-Length: 27 Content-Length: 27 < Connection: keep-alive Connection: keep-alive < This is under maintenance. * Connection #0 to host server.com left intact Now some clients set Accept header to application/json.   • Problem with libcurl cookie engine

    - by Seb Rose
    [Cross-posted from lib-curl mailing list] I have a single threaded app (MSVC C++ 2005) build against a static LIBCURL 7.19.4 A test application connects to an in house server & performs a bespoke authentication process that includes posting a couple of forms, and when this succeeds creates a new resource (POST) and then updates the resource (PUT) using If-Match. I only use a single connection to libcurl (i.e. only one CURL*) The cookie engine is enabled from the start using curl_easy_setopt(CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE, "") The cookie cache is cleared at the end of the authentication process using curl_easy_setopt(CURLOPT_COOKIELIST, "SESS"). This is required by the authentication process. The next call, which completes a successful authentication, results in a couple of security cookies being returned from the server - they have no expiry date set. The server (and I) expect the security cookies to then be sent with all subsequent requests to the server. The problem is that sometimes they are sent and sometimes they aren't. I'm not a CURL expert, so I'm probably doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. Running the test app in a loop results shows a random distribution of correct cookie handling. As a workaround I've disabled the cookie engine and am doing basic manual cookie handling. Like this it works as expected, but I'd prefer to use the library if possible. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Seb

  • Shopify JSONP issue in ajaxAPI

    - by Aaron U
    I'm getting some odd response back from shopify ajaxapi for jsonp. If you cURL a Shopify ajax api location http://storename.domain.com/cart.json?callback=handler you will get a jsonp response. But something is breaking the same request in browsers. It appears to be related to compression? Here are some responses from each browser when attempting to call the jsonp as documented. Firefox: The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Internet Explorer: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage Chrome/Safari/Webkit: Cannot decode raw data, or failed (chrome) Attempted use via jquery: $.getJSON('http://storename.domain.com/cart.json?callback=?', function(data) { ... }); // Results in a failed request, viewable network request panels of dev tools Here is some output from cURL including response headers: $ curl -i http://storename.domain.com/cart.json?callback=CALLBACK_FUNC HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: nginx Date: Tue, 18 Dec 2012 13:48:29 GMT Content-Type: application/javascript; charset=utf-8 Transfer-Encoding: chunked Connection: keep-alive Status: 200 OK ETag: cachable:864076445587123764313132415008994143575 Cache-Control: max-age=0, private, must-revalidate X-Alternate-Cache-Key: cachable:11795444887523410552615529412743919200 X-Cache: hit, server X-Request-Id: a0c33a55230fe42bce79b462f6fe450d X-UA-Compatible: IE=Edge,chrome=1 Set-Cookie: _session_id=b6ace1d7b0dbedd37f7787d10e173131; path=/; HttpOnly X-Runtime: 0.033811 P3P: CP="NOI DSP COR NID ADMa OPTa OUR NOR" CALLBACK_FUNC({"token":null,"note":null,"attributes":{},"total_price":0,...}) Also related unanswered here: Shopify Ajax API JSONP supported? • Voting on Hacker News stories programmatically?

    - by igorgue
    I decided to write an app like: http://michaelgrinich.com/hackernews/ but for Android devices, my idea will use a web application backend (because I rather code in Python and for the web than completely in Java for Android devices). What I have right now implemented is something like this: $ curl -i http://localhost:8080/stories.json?page=1\&stories=1 HTTP/1.0 200 OK Date: Sun, 25 Apr 2010 07:59:37 GMT Server: WSGIServer/0.1 Python/2.6.5 Content-Length: 296 Content-Type: application/json [{"title": "Don\u2019t talk to aliens, warns Stephen Hawking", "url": "http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/science/space/article7107207.ece?", "unix_time": 1272175177, "comments": 15, "score": 38, "user": "chaostheory", "position": 1, "human_time": "Sun Apr 25 01:59:37 2010", "id": "1292241"}] The next step (and final I think) is voting, my design is doing something like this: $ curl -i http://localhost:8080/stories/1?vote=up -u username:password Will vote up and: $ curl -i http://localhost:8080/stories/1?vote=down -u username:password Down. I have no idea how to do it though... I was planning to use Twill but the login link is always different, e.g.: http://news.ycombinator.com/x?fnid=7u89ccHKln Later the Android app will consume this API. Any experience with programmatically browsing Hacker News?

  • Like posts over Facebook graph api

    - by Sima
    HI! I have little problem with facebook PHP SDK..I want to like a post, or something else via facebook PHP SDK..I am doing this code, I think it should be right, but  apparently it's not working..The given error code is, the PHP SDK dont know this kind of POST request(the generated link is definitely alright). What I have seen on Facebook Developers page is about the same..There is an example of Curl command, and I the PHP SDK is doing this requests over Curl (propably). $this->getFacebook()->api("/"+$id+"/likes", 'post'); This is what I am using in my code and it's not working(Facebook API Exception unsupported post request). Maybe, I have bad syntax in my code, but, for example, when I want to post a status to my Profile, it's working..Another cause which confused me, was when I tried to fetch these data over Graph api(on the documentation page is written, I should use address like graph.facebook.com/POST_ID/likes)... You can comment on or like a post by posting to https://graph.facebook.com/POST_ID/comments and https://graph.facebook.com/POST_ID/likes,respectively: curl -F 'access_token=...' \ https://graph.facebook.com/313449204401/likes <=this is from facebook documentation And all these requests or commands(liking ones, comments have I not yet tried) are putting me back a JSON array which contents any already existing likes, but my like is nowhere. Does anyone know what to do?How to like a post from PHP..There are other SKDs like FQL, but I haven't any knowlegde with it, so I like rather to use the standard PHP SDK(but if is there some possibility how to call for example FQL from PHP SDK, here I am:)) Please help..

  • Get Instance ID of an Object in PHP

    - by Alix Axel
    I've learn a while ago on StackOverflow that we can get the "instance ID" of any resource, for instance: var_dump(intval(curl_init())); // int(2) var_dump(intval(finfo_open())); // int(3) var_dump(intval(curl_init())); // int(4) var_dump(intval(finfo_open())); // int(5) var_dump(intval(curl_init())); // int(6) I need something similar but applied to classes: var_dump(intval(new stdClass())); // int(1) var_dump(intval(new stdClass())); // int(1) var_dump(intval(new stdClass())); // int(1) var_dump(intval(new stdClass())); // int(1) var_dump(intval(new stdClass())); // int(1) I'm using stdClass just has an example here, but as you can see, it's not the output I was hoping for. I just did some more testing and I found that var_dump() can see the instance ID of an object: var_dump($a = new stdClass()); // object(stdClass)#1 (0) { } var_dump($b = new stdClass()); // object(stdClass)#2 (0) { } var_dump($c = new stdClass()); // object(stdClass)#3 (0) { } The same happens with resources of course: var_dump(curl_init()); // resource(2) of type (curl) var_dump(curl_init()); // resource(3) of type (curl) var_dump(curl_init()); // resource(4) of type (curl) Is there any way to achieve the same effect in PHP?

  • Google Data Api returning an invalid access token

    - by kingdavies
    I'm trying to pull a list of contacts from a google account. But Google returns a 401. The url used for requesting an authorization code: String codeUrl = 'https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/auth' + '?' + 'client_id=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode(CLIENT_ID, 'UTF-8') + '&redirect_uri=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode(MY_URL, 'UTF-8') + '&scope=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode('https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/', 'UTF-8') + '&access_type=' + 'offline' + '&response_type=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode('code', 'UTF-8') + '&approval_prompt=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode('force', 'UTF-8'); Exchanging the returned authorization code for an access token (and refresh token): String params = 'code=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode(authCode, 'UTF-8') + '&client_id=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode(CLIENT_ID, 'UTF-8') + '&client_secret=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode(CLIENT_SECRET, 'UTF-8') + '&redirect_uri=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode(MY_URL, 'UTF-8') + '&grant_type=' + EncodingUtil.urlEncode('authorization_code', 'UTF-8'); Http con = new Http(); Httprequest req = new Httprequest(); req.setEndpoint('https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/token'); req.setHeader('Content-Type', 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'); req.setBody(params); req.setMethod('POST'); Httpresponse reply = con.send(req); Which returns a JSON array with what looks like a valid access token: { "access_token" : "{access_token}", "token_type" : "Bearer", "expires_in" : 3600, "refresh_token" : "{refresh_token}" } However when I try and use the access token (either in code or curl) Google returns a 401: curl -H "Authorization: Bearer {access_token}" https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/contacts/default/full/ Incidentally the same curl command but with an access token acquired via https://code.google.com/oauthplayground/ works. Which leads me to believe there is something wrong with the exchanging authorization code for access token request as the returned access token does not work. I should add this is all within the expires_in time frame so its not that the access_token has expired

  • How to ensure nginx serves a request from an external IP?

    - by Matt
    I have a strange situation, where my nginx setup stopped handling external requests. I'm pretty stuck. If I hit the domain without a subdomain, I properly get redirected, however, if I request the full url, that fails and doesn't log anything, anywhere. I am able to curl localhost on the server itself, however when I attempt to curl from an external machine, it fails with: curl: (7) couldn't connect to host I've also noticed that bots can get through, I've seen Google hit the log every now and then. My nginx.conf file: upstream mongrels { server 127.0.0.1:5000; } server { listen 80; server_name culini.com; rewrite ^/(.*) http://www.culini.com/$1 permanent; } # the server directive is nginx's virtual host directive. server { # port to listen on. Can also be set to an IP:PORT listen 80; # Set the max size for file uploads to 50Mb client_max_body_size 50M; # sets the domain[s] that this vhost server requests for server_name www.culini.com; # doc root root /var/www/culini/current/public; log_format app '$remote_addr - $remote_user [$time_local] ' '"$request" $status $body_bytes_sent "$http_referer" ' '"$http_user_agent" "$http_x_forwarded_for" [$upstream_addr $upstream_response_time $upstream_status]'; # vhost specific access log access_log /var/www/culini/current/log/nginx.access.log app; error_log /var/www/culini/current/log/nginx.error.log debug; location / { proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_redirect false; proxy_max_temp_file_size 0; proxy_intercept_errors on; proxy_ignore_client_abort on; if (-f $request_filename) { break; } if (!-f $request_filename) { proxy_pass http://mongrels; break; } } } Please, please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
