  • How can I get PowerShell Added-Types to use Added Types

    - by Scott Weinstein
    I'm working on a PoSh project that generates CSharp code, and then Add-Types it into memory. The new types use existing types in an on disk DLL, which is loaded via Add-Type. All is well and good untill I actualy try to invoke methods on the new types. Here's an example of what I'm doing: $PWD = "." rm -Force $PWD\TestClassOne* $code = " namespace TEST{ public class TestClassOne { public int DoNothing() { return 1; } } }" $code | Out-File tcone.cs Add-Type -OutputAssembly $PWD\TestClassOne.dll -OutputType Library -Path $PWD\tcone.cs Add-Type -Path $PWD\TestClassOne.dll $a = New-Object TEST.TestClassOne "Using TestClassOne" $a.DoNothing() "Compiling TestClassTwo" Add-Type -Language CSharpVersion3 -TypeDefinition " namespace TEST{ public class TestClassTwo { public int CallTestClassOne() { var a = new TEST.TestClassOne(); return a.DoNothing(); } } }" -ReferencedAssemblies $PWD\TestClassOne.dll "OK" $b = New-Object TEST.TestClassTwo "Using TestClassTwo" $b.CallTestClassOne() Running the above script gives the following error on the last line: Exception calling "CallTestClassOne" with "0" argument(s): "Could not load file or assembly 'TestClassOne,...' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." At AddTypeTest.ps1:39 char:20 + $b.CallTestClassOne <<<< () + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], MethodInvocationException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : DotNetMethodException What am I doing wrong?

  • .NET Code Generataion | Unable to create a T4 template in Visual Studio 2008

    - by cedar715
    I've the Visual Studio 2008 installed on my machine(licensed one). When I try to add a new .tt(say bar.tt) file to the project, the following code is generated: I've seen in a screencast, where in an empty .tt file should be opened and the developer enters the T4 code. Even if I remove the code and enter T4 code, am getting build errors. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Drawing; using System.Linq; using System.Reflection; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace Foobar { partial class bar : Form { public bar() { InitializeComponent(); this.Text = String.Format("About {0} {0}", AssemblyTitle); this.labelProductName.Text = AssemblyProduct; this.labelVersion.Text = String.Format("Version {0} {0}", AssemblyVersion); this.labelCopyright.Text = AssemblyCopyright; this.labelCompanyName.Text = AssemblyCompany; this.textBoxDescription.Text = AssemblyDescription; } #region Assembly Attribute Accessors public string AssemblyTitle { get { object[] attributes = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetCustomAttributes(typeof(AssemblyTitleAttribute), false); if(attributes.Length > 0) { AssemblyTitleAttribute titleAttribute = (AssemblyTitleAttribute)attributes[0]; if(titleAttribute.Title != "") { return titleAttribute.Title; } } return System.IO.Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().CodeBase); } } public string AssemblyVersion { get { return Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetName().Version.ToString(); } } public string AssemblyDescription { get { object[] attributes = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetCustomAttributes(typeof(AssemblyDescriptionAttribute), false); if (attributes.Length == 0) { return ""; } return ((AssemblyDescriptionAttribute)attributes[0]).Description; } } public string AssemblyProduct { get { object[] attributes = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetCustomAttributes(typeof(AssemblyProductAttribute), false); if (attributes.Length == 0) { return ""; } return ((AssemblyProductAttribute)attributes[0]).Product; } } public string AssemblyCopyright { get { object[] attributes = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetCustomAttributes(typeof(AssemblyCopyrightAttribute), false); if (attributes.Length == 0) { return ""; } return ((AssemblyCopyrightAttribute)attributes[0]).Copyright; } } public string AssemblyCompany { get { object[] attributes = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetCustomAttributes(typeof(AssemblyCompanyAttribute), false); if (attributes.Length == 0) { return ""; } return ((AssemblyCompanyAttribute)attributes[0]).Company; } } #endregion } } EDIT: I didn't download any T4 software separately as I got to know that it already ships with Visual Studio 2008.

  • How to render Asian characters in a PDF using xhtmlrenderer

    - by Mark Derricutt
    I was wondering what steps were needed to render Asian characters using the java based xhtmlrenderer (flying saucer) library? I am wanting to render the following: <html> <body>????????</body> </html> Without any font settings being added to the HTML this renders fine in normal browsers, but I can't find anyway to render this to PDF using the iTextRenderer portion of xhtmlrenderer. After following various threads on the mailing list, I see lots of posts talking about adding .TTF files from the c:\windows\fonts directory, and I have modified the examples to run on linux ( https://gist.github.com/643173745182c9becc57 ), which shows me various fonts being displayed, but I don't see any Asian glyffs. Does anyone have any decent pointers, or clean solutions to this problem? Or am I looking at the wrong problem with a really simple solution elsewhere?

  • Wider than expected margins with CGContextDrawPDFPage

    - by skantner
    I'm rendering PDF pages on iPhone using the code below. It works, but the margins seem much wider than when I view the same PDF using a Acrobat Reader or the Mac's Preview, and that consequently scales the content down much smaller than it otherwise would be. Is my code actually causing this behavior? CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context, backgroundColor.CGColor); CGContextSetFillColorWithColor(context,backgroundColor.CGColor); CGContextSetLineWidth(context, 2.0); CGContextAddRect(context, CGRectMake(0.0,0.0, self.bounds.size.width, self.bounds.size.height)); CGContextDrawPath(context, kCGPathFillStroke); CGContextTranslateCTM(context, 0.0, self.bounds.size.height); CGContextScaleCTM(context, 1.0, -1.0); CGPDFPageRef page = CGPDFDocumentGetPage(myPDF, (size_t) pageNum); CGContextSaveGState(context); CGAffineTransform pdfTransform = CGPDFPageGetDrawingTransform(page, kCGPDFMediaBox, self.bounds, 0, true); CGContextConcatCTM(context, pdfTransform); CGContextDrawPDFPage(context, page); CGContextRestoreGState(context);

    Is it possible to make nested table fit height of its parent cell in TCPDF? • How to Generate Server-Side tags dynamiclly

    - by Nasser Hajloo
    I have an ASP.net page which contains some controls. I generate this controls by code, [Actually I have a method which uses a stringBuilder and add Serverside tag as flat string on it] My page shows the content correctly but unfortunately my controls became like a Client-side control For example I had a LoginView on my generated code which dosen't work, and also I had read some string from LocalResources which dosen't appear on the page What Should I do to make my generating method correct here is the code protected string CreateSubSystem(string id, string roles, string AnonymousTemplateClass, string href, string rolesContentTemplateClass, string LoggedInTemplateClass) { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); sb.Append("<div class=\"SubSystemIconPlacement\" id=\""); sb.Append(id); sb.Append("\"><asp:LoginView runat=\"server\" ID=\""); sb.Append(id); sb.Append("\"><AnonymousTemplate><div class=\""); sb.Append(AnonymousTemplateClass); sb.Append("\"></div><asp:Label ID=\"lblDisabled"); sb.Append(id); sb.Append("\" runat=\"server\" SkinID=\"OneColLabel\" meta:resourcekey=\"lbl"); sb.Append(id); sb.Append("\" /></AnonymousTemplate><RoleGroups><asp:RoleGroup Roles=\""); sb.Append(roles); sb.Append("\"><ContentTemplate><a class=\"ImageLink\" href=\""); sb.Append(href); sb.Append("\"><div class=\""); sb.Append(rolesContentTemplateClass); sb.Append("\"></div></a><asp:HyperLink runat=\"server\" CssClass=\"SubSystemText\" ID=\"lnk"); sb.Append(id); sb.Append(" NavigateUrl=\"~/"); sb.Append(href); sb.Append(" \" meta:resourcekey=\"lbl"); sb.Append(id); sb.Append("\" /></ContentTemplate></asp:RoleGroup></RoleGroups><LoggedInTemplate><div class=\""); sb.Append(LoggedInTemplateClass); sb.Append("\"></div><asp:Label runat=\"server\" SkinID=\"OneColLabel\" ID=\"lblDisabledLoggedIn"); sb.Append(id); sb.Append("\" meta:resourcekey=\"lbl"); sb.Append(id); sb.Append("\" /></LoggedInTemplate></asp:LoginView>"); sb.Append("</div>"); return sb.ToString(); } I also use this method on page_PreRender event

  • Programmatically implementing an interface that combines some instances of the same interface in var

    - by namin
    What is the best way to implement an interface that combines some instances of the same interface in various specified ways? I need to do this for multiple interfaces and I want to minimize the boilerplate and still achieve good efficiency, because I need this for a critical production system. Here is a sketch of the problem. Abstractly, I have a generic combiner class which takes the instances and specify the various combinators: class Combiner<I> { I[] instances; <T> T combineSomeWay(InstanceMethod<I,T> method) { // ... method.call(instances[i]) ... combined in some way ... } // more combinators } Now, let's say I want to implement the following interface among many others: Interface Foo { String bar(int baz); } I want to end up with code like this: class FooCombiner implements Foo { Combiner<Foo> combiner; @Override public String bar(final int baz) { return combiner.combineSomeWay(new InstanceMethod<Foo, String> { @Override public call(Foo instance) { return instance.bar(baz); } }); } } Now, this can quickly get long and winded if the interfaces have lots of methods. I know I could use a dynamic proxy from the Java reflection API to implement such interfaces, but method access via reflection is hundred times slower. So what are the alternatives to boilerplate and reflection in this case?

  • XML to DOC to PDF

    - by Max
    what is the easiest(and fastest) way to perform this kind of transformation: "Data in XML" to "Some MS Word 2003 Supported format" to PDF using Java? My first guess was to fill the template with XML data (using Placeholders for example) and then save it and convert it to PDF. But I can't just put placeholders to DOC files, and I can't convert from some other Word formats to PDF... My primary task is to convert XML Data to PDF allowing users to change the PDF on-demand. The best way to change the PDF on-demand seems to give user some kind of MS Word readable document, and then convert it back. There are 2 main problems with this task: 1) I can't use OpenOffice for conversion. 2) System should be able to convert ~1 page of table-based document per 1 second on 2Ghz Core. 3) RTF does not provide enough styling, so some more complex format should be used. Thanks in advance.

  • svcutil, WSDL, and the generated interfaces not being sufficient for implementation

    - by chtmd
    I have a WSDL file defining a service that I have to implement in WCF. I had read that I could generate the proxy using svcutil from the WSDL file, and that I could then use the generated interfaces to implement the service. Unfortunately, I can't quite seem to find a way to have the interfaces contain the correct attributes to expose the contracts. All operations have the "OperationContractAttribute" attribute, but it appears as though for the service to be exposed, I require the "OperationContract" for each one. Same thing with "ServiceContractAttribute" and "ServiceContract", and I imagine DataContract, but I haven't gotten that far. I could manually make these changes, but I would much prefer a technique where the existing code could be easily used, or better code could be generated for my uses. Is there some way that this can be done? Thanks. EDIT: Command used: svcutil ObjectManagerService.wsdl /n:*,Sample /o:ObjectManagerServiceProxy.cs /nologo Code sample: public interface ObjectManagerSyncPortType { // CODEGEN: Generating message contract since the operation createObject is neither RPC nor document wrapped. [System.ServiceModel.OperationContractAttribute(Action="http://www.sample.com/createObject", ReplyAction="*")] [System.ServiceModel.XmlSerializerFormatAttribute()] Sample.createObjectResponse1 createObject(Sample.createObjectRequest1 request); As best as I can tell/see the WSDL file is entirely self-contained and requires no additional XSD files.

  • I want to merge two PostScript Documents, pagewise. How?

    - by Peter Miehle
    hello, i have a tricky question, so i need to describe my problem: i need to print 2-sided booklets (a third of a paper) on normal paper (german A4, but letter is okay also) and cut the paper afterwards. The Pages are in a Postscript Level 2 File (generated by an ancient printer driver, so no chance to patch that, except ps2ps) generated by me with the ancient OS's Printing driver facilities (GpiMove, GpiLine, GpiText etc). I do not want to throw away two-thirds of the paper, so my idea is: Take file one, two and three, merge them (how?) on new double-sided papers by translate/move file two and three by one resp. two thirds and print the resulting new pages. If it helps, I can manage to print one page of the booklet per file. I cannot "speak" postscript natively, but I am capable of parsing and merging and manipulating files programmaticly. Maybe you can hint me to a webpage. I've read through the manuals on adobe's site and followed the links on www.inkguides.com/postscript.asp Maybe there are techniques with PDF that would help? I can translate ps2pdf. Thanks for help Peter Miehle PS: my current solution: i.e. 8 pages: print page 1, 4 and 7 on page one, 2,5,8 on page two and 3,6,blank on page three, cut the paper and restack. But i want to use a electrical cutting machine, which works better with thicker stacks of paper.

  • Creating a multi-page PDF doc

    - by codemercenary
    Hi, has anyone already created a PDF document in an iPad app. i see that there are new functions in the UIKit to do this, but I can't find any code example for this. BOOL UIGraphicsBeginPDFContextToFile ( NSString *path, CGRect bounds, NSDictionary *documentInfo ); void UIGraphicsBeginPDFPage ( void ); I found an example that is supposed to work on the iPhone, but this gives me errors: Fri Apr 30 11:55:32 wks104.hs.local PDF[1963] <Error>: CGFont/Freetype: The function `create_subset' is currently unimplemented. • x86 instruction encoding tables

    - by Cheery
    I'm in middle of rewriting my assembler. While at it I'm curious about implementing disassembly as well. I want to make it simple and compact, and there's concepts I can exploit while doing so. It is possible to determine rest of the x86 instruction encoding from opcode (maybe prefix bytes are required too, a bit). I know many people have written tables for doing it. I'm not interested about mnemonics but instruction encoding, because it is an actual hard problem there. For each opcode number I need to know: does this instruction contain modrm? how many immediate fields does this instruction have? what encoding does an immediate use? is the immediate in field an instruction pointer -relative address? what kind of registers does the modrm use for operand and register fields? sandpile.org has somewhat quite much what I'd need, but it's in format that isn't easy to parse. Before I start writing and validating those tables myself, I decided to write this question. Do you know about this kind of tables existing somewhere? In a form that doesn't require too much effort to parse.

  • How to keep unreachable code?

    - by Gabriel
    I'd like to write a function that would have some optional code to execute or not depending on user settings. The function is cpu-intensive and having ifs in it would be slow since the branch predictor is not that good. My idea is making a copy in memory of the function and replace NOPs with jumps when I don't want to execute some code. My working example goes like this: int Test() { int x = 2; for (int i=0 ; i<10 ; i++) { x *= 2; __asm {NOP}; // to skip it replace this __asm {NOP}; // by JMP 2 (after the goto) x *= 2; // Op to skip or not x *= 2; } return x; } In my test's main, I copy this function into a newly allocated executable memory and replace the NOPs by a JMP 2 so that the following x *= 2 is not executed. The problem is that I would have to change the JMP operand every time I change the code to be skipped. An alternative that would fix this problem would be: __asm {NOP}; // to skip it replace this __asm {NOP}; // by JMP 2 (after the goto) goto dont_do_it; x *= 2; // Op to skip or not dont_do_it: x *= 2; This way, as a goto uses 2 bytes of binary, I would be able to replace the NOPs by a fixed JMP of alway 2 in order to skip the goto. Unfortunately, in full optimization mode, the goto and the x*=2 are removed because they are unreachable at compilation time. Hence the need to keep that dead code.

  • Adding text over existing PDFs using reportlab

    - by Shane
    I'm interested in filling out existing PDF forms programatically. All I really need to do is pull information from user input and then place the appropriate text over an existing PDF in the appropriate locations. I can already do this with reportlab by feeding the same sheet of paper into a printer, twice, but this just really rubs me the wrong way. I'm tempted to just personally reverse engineer each existing PDF and draw every line and character myself before adding the user-inputted text, but I wanted to check to see if there was an easy way to take an existing PDF and set it as a background for some extra text. I'd really prefer to use python as it's the only language I feel comfortable with. I also realize that I could just scan the document itself and use the resulting raster image as a background, but I would prefer the precision of vector graphics. It seems like ReportLab has a commercial product with this functionality, and the specific function I'm looking for is in it (copyPages) - but it seems like overkill to pay for a 4 figure product for a single, simple function for a nonprofit use.

  • Render User Controls and call their Page_Load
